Grimsby fans what type of striker is Wes Thomas? A respectable 12 goals for you last season. I assume he would have stayed if it wasn’t for the bust up with your manager.

We are rumoured to be signing him.
Good player, good finisher.

First half of season all was well, second half attitude started to go off and work rate dropped. Think he decided he wasn’t going to sign for another season which is where the attitude came from.

Decent signing imho.

Rubbish in the air and isn’t that quick anymore. Good instinct finisher but his attitude clearly stinks, as shown by the number of clubs he’s had in his career.

Dom Telford confirmed. Undisclosed fee.
Probably a stupid question but if Bury's players haven't been paid for however long, aren't they entitled to give 7 days' notice or just walk? Can't see why you've paid a transfer fee. Am I missing something?

They paid him, like Lowe as Dale knew he would get some money.

Bit harsh that, in my opinion. He led the line well for us and was one of our best players last season. He is shit in the air though, I'll agree with you on that. I'd have loved to see him in a more creative team and/or alongside a target man as I reckon he could easily score 20+ in a side that suits him more.

Latest rumour our end is Danny Lloyd from Salford. No source to it other than the fact he's recently followed our manager and assistant on twitter and also liked our kit reveal tweet, so in other words, its most likely nonsense.

We should be signing an attacking midfielder on loan today.

Surprisingly there's no speculation on our forum, but according to Pressley he's from a Premier League club and we were waiting on him coming through a friendly on Wednesday (Chelsea were the only Premier League club playing) unscathed. Think age was mentioned too, 23 or something but I could just be imagining things on that, if it's a club like Chelsea then any loanee will inevitably be young, probably younger than 23.

I notice Chelsea's academy player of the year, Conor Gallagher was given a run-out and is a midfielder. They had a couple others involved too, a lad called 'Gilmour' who was also a midfielder and some other youth players whose positions remain unknown.

Probably barking up the wrong tree though as any other Premier league club could have played an undocumented friendly that Pressley was referring to.

Thomas is a good signing for a bottom half team at this level but his attitude reeks. He’d be good to have if you’re just wanting to guarantee goals and you’re not too bothered about his dressing room influence.

Villa played Wednesday night as well.

Someone on our forum reckons Collin is on his way out. I don't know who is ITK on our forum and who is a bullshitter, but most people seem to be worried there could be some truth in it.

Ahahahahahaaaa our big loan signing. We know so little about him we’re having to put him on trial for 2 weeks first. Fuck me, this club hey! :ffs:

Our young midfielder Jock Curran could be signing for Forest... whilst it shows our current youth is being run well (after Rumarn Burrell went to Middlesbrough last month), it’s galling that we develop these players, don’t get to see them play and they then leave for a pittance (in footballing terms).

He has he even made it onto the pitch? It's a weird situation isn't it? On the one hand, like you say it's annoying that we get initial peanuts and don't see them...but on the other hand you'd think we have healthy sell on clauses should they go on and be successful. And if they don't what were the chances that they were ever going to get into our side anyway?

We've had a few like that over the years...

This will be two in about a month if it happens, which is quite interesting as I can only ever remember one before (some lad Hull bought that didn't go on to do anything?). We've brought in Evan Khouri from the West Ham youth setup too, which is something we haven't really done to often in the past. While there are reservations as highlighted above, this focus on youth is probably the most encouraging aspect of Jolley's tenure so far. What I'm really fearful of is someone coming along and nicking Neil Woods (youth team manager) off us. I mean, I'd be incredibly surprised as he's Town through and through but you never know. If Woods gets poached by Lincoln I might have to give up on football.

We've removed striker James Alabi from the transfer list.

Big call from Ross Embleton, because he was very erratic in the National League and terribly inconsistent. His better performances came from the bench, he hasn't showed me that he is anywhere near good enough for League Two on a regular basis. Can't say I agree with it, he did turn town various National League clubs - The last being Torquay.

We've also re-signed Winger James Dayton on a one year deal, good player but his injury record is awful. Would imagine we'll get the usual 4 months out of him before he does his hamstring in again. In his defense, his latest injury was due to a Sutton player taking him clean out and breaking his ankle which he could do little about.

Cole is a tidy footballer, would be happy if we took him back

Thanks TA, that explains it. Wondering whether the money will go to Bury FC or into your current owner's back pocket. Hard times for you guys.

Good luck lad.
Not the best [layer at Bury but a very important part of the team and wish him nothing but the best.

We're supposed to be signing Dean Gerken at some point this week. Has to be an improvement on our goalkeeping efforts last year. Was never 100% convincing back in the day, but we were two levels higher than this back then and he's had ten years to get better.

Confirmed this morning. Progress on last season's goalkeeping department at least.
