Latest rumour is right back, Jack Grimmer.

Was at Coventry the last couple of years and scored against us at Wembley, so recognise the name!

It’s one area we need to strengthen so would be happy with him.
used to play for us and would welcome him back

We are being linked to Junior Morias. Any cobblers fans heard anything?

No, but it wouldn't surprise me. I don't think that he fits Curlio's way of playing.
He could be good, but is a mini-me version of Bayo without the height to bully defenders as effectively. I believe that if he lost a bit of timber he could be a very decent striker.

I’m just pleased you spelt his name correctly. The amount of people that call him Morais (including commentators) is very annoying.

As Deepcut says, it seems like he doesn't fit into the way Curle wants to set-up this season, most possibly because of his lack of certain physical attributes.

I rate him though and would be disappointed to see him go. If he does move and stays fit, it wouldn't surprise me if he scored 15-20 this season, where ever he ended up playing.

Ha ha, yes, very true! Even after 12 months I hear Cobblers fans pronounce and spell his name as 'Morais'.

[BREAKING NEWS]
Carlisle United have taken defender Aaron Hayden on trial. The 22 year old ex Wolves youngster has been playing for Stourbridge recently.

Once again Carlisle United making huge statements of intent.

Swansea declined Sheff Utd’s £15m bid for Oli McBurnie. Very good chance he’ll go somewhere this window.

Show us the moula.....

That's exactly what I thought when I saw him.

Planning for next season?
Doubt it. All these players will be gone once our relegation is confirmed then we’ll be back to square 1 of attempting to recruit a completely new team for the conference.

The 'next season' that I was referring was 2020-21, with tongue firmly in cheek, when you would probably be in the Conference. ;)

Callum McFadzean pictured at Home Park today. Another one from Bury. Also linked with Niall Ennis. 20 year old striker, would be a loan from Wolves.

The Mayor signing was a no-brainer, but the other three from Bury stink of lazy recruitment to me. Good players exist outside Gigg Lane you know!

Lazy recruitment, or players who got promoted out of this division last season? They all know how Ryan Lowe plays, what he’s about and have experience getting out of this league. Clearly they’ve got something about them.

Other than Mayor, did the other three really play a significant role? When I think of their side last season the first players that come to mind are Mayor, Maynard, O'Shea, Adams and Rossiter.

Of course you’ll think of those names, 4 of them are attacking players and the other one was the best CDM in the league.

What’s Hepburn Murphy like Cambridge fans? We’re rumoured to be getting him in on loan.

We all assumed he wanted to stay in league one. I guess the offer from us was less than last year, or he thought he could get a lot more and is finding out he can’t. A real crowd favourite. If there had to be a player throwing his body in front of a shot in the box, you could bet it was Yann. He is great when the oppo have the ball, very dependable and likely to make a successful challenge. When he first started with us his passing was atrocious, if he got the ball you had to watch behind your fingers. But he worked on this a lot, and while still not great my hands stayed in my lap. I even saw him skill someone last year - i’ve Probably marked it in my calendar! Personally, I felt he was better as a defensive CM than a CB, when sometimes he got caught out. Offered a bit of a threat at the other end for corners. Gave his all. In a season when most fans thought the players did not fight, he was only one of two players that came out with positive reviews. Wish he would come back.
Scunny will be paying him a L1 wage, to be fair.

Got better towards the end of his loan but you can tell he hadn’t experienced league football before.

Highly rated at Villa but we didn’t see it enough. Very quick and good finisher but always came deep so never got the chances. League one probably a step too far for him at the moment.

Surely a manager needs to be able to recruit players that he inherently trusts to be able to do a job. Some may see it as lazy but I see it as sensible personally.

I get why he's doing it, go with what you know and all that, but I still think it's lazy. Sign one or two, fine, but I just think it's getting a bit silly now. The players he learned to trust at Bury were once outsiders as well, it's an inherent part of a manager's job to take risks on new players. But sometimes those risks pay off and you end up with better players that you had previously.

No guarantees those ex Bury players will reproduce the winning formula at Plymouth. Mayor has never ventured south - can’t be arsed to check out the others. They may not settle, the non Bury players may resent them, the dressing room may split into 2 groups.

No telling how the amalgam will turn out.

Sure, but I presume the premise of Lowe trying to replicate Bury’s promotion is the reason. One player not working out most clubs can cope with having half your team not working out is a bit more problematic.
