I reckon the guy on our forum who claims we are signing Barry Baggley from Fleetwood has got these two mixed up. They're both ridiculous names.

Okay I've not really been paying attention to this because it's pretty boring tbh, but how come Mansfield are having to sign their own player? Was he only on a one year deal last season? Not very Radford that.

Colchester have signed ex Tranmere loanee Shamal George. Sorry to say he wasn’t great between the sticks for us.

He’s not our player (well he is again now) and one year deal, option for a second in all likelihood but that wasn’t feasible anymore.

Harrison Biggins to Barrow on a season loan now confirmed. Probably seen as our replacement for Rooney, though I can't say I've ever heard of him before today.

Gave one of the worst goalkeeping performances I’ve ever seen for us a few years back against Stevenage.

Can only assume he’s developer a fair bit since then

He'll only be backup to Gerken for this year at least, albeit he's supposedly looked the better of the two in the pre-season streams so far.

Sam Walker and Ben Williams both had awful reviews too though and have been two of our best goalkeepers for years so I guess time will tell. I'm sure he'll get his chance at some point - if nothing else, he'll presumably be number one in 2021/22 when Gerken's contract is up.

In Maynard Resigning one - if not the best - forwards in the league is a massive boost

But you had him all last season. Didn’t do you much good then - why will it be different now?

He was probably the only player who came out of the season with some credit, got a good goal returns in a squad that finished 21st?

I suppose that’s why we all love a good old lower league football forum, because people comment on stuff they are completely and utterly ignorant on.

Nicky Maynard signing makes me much more confident in the upcoming season, because despite Rose and Cook being good L2 strikers neither of them have performed near to what Maynard has managed the past two seasons, including in a team that was relegation fodder without him.

Like I’ve touched on a day or two ago though, we have to get rid of a striker now, we’ve signed Jordan Bowery as a target man and took a stab at Jamie Reid who’s yet to prove himself at this level, then we are back to Rose and Cook, both players are highly likely to be better than both strikers signed this summer imo.

Danny Rose is a better match for Mansfield and GC, but a fit and happy Andy Cook is likely to get a higher goal tally. It’s a tough one.

Think I edge towards Cook going, Rose is a fan favourite and I think I perfer the Maynard/Rose combo. Not much in it though.

So fuck all has changed. Plus you’ve lost Hamilton.

I’ve no clue to who’ve you signed up. Manager seems a bit clueless based on last season.
