We had Gambin at Crawley. It seemed to me that every time he started playing he would get injured or get a call up from the Maltese national side and be out for a few games and have to start over again.

I think he has the ability to play league football but I don't think his managers trust him or feel they can rely on him.

This is exactly what happened to him here. He would just be about to get a run in the side, only to be called up by Malta and lose his place, Jones eventually lost patience with it as he couldnt be reliably available for us, which isnt great when you are rotation option. Got good ability and in the right set up he could do very well, you just cant trust him to be available for it though.

I can’t think of a more consistent proven player at this level than him. Great signing.

I can’t think of a more consistent proven player at this level than him. Great signing.

Feel bad for the guy, no disrespect to Oldham but he's been promoted from League Two so many times in recent years and never managed to remain there for long. Don't know much about his performances in League One earlier on but I'm sure he expected to kick on more in the prime of his career. In fairness he left Northampton the first time to move back up north and that may be the case this time around too, but he's also been unfortunate to be part of the Bury team that never got to play following promotion.

He's not a goalscorer, only scored 3 goals total in his entire time with us, but think he topped the league assists chart almost every time he's completed a full season at this level.

Similar to Dave Worrall maybe, our fans moan he doesn’t score enough despite having the most assists in the 92 in 2020 apart from De Bruyne!

Nicky Adams was at Crawley and used to win every man of the match award. It got to be a joke. He'd come on for 1 minute at the end of a match and he would be awarded the mom.

He was signed by Sean O'Driscol in our first season in league 1 but SOD sodded off to Nottingham Forest after a month. Adams left Crawley to move back north after two (?) seasons with us.

I've never been as enamoured about him as most people. His assist rate is very good but if you take all the free kicks that are crossed into the box then your assist rate will be high. Add in the corners...! But he is a good player and will do well for Oldham.

Beech says there will be a player leaving Carlisle possibly this week.

Have a feeling it might be Toure. With Walker coming in we will be over crowded in that area. Toure has been struggling living alone during lockdown, he went to France over christmas, perhaps he wants to go there permanently. It would be a shame as he’s a talented player.

Don't know much about his performances in League One earlier on but I'm sure he expected to kick on more in the prime of his career.

He was an absolute magician for us on loan for a month from Leicester in 2010. Only played 6 games during Jan/Feb but completely turned a doomed side around. Don’t think he’s done that well in League One since.
