Cheers Notts fans. Francis’ passing looks very good from his highlight reel, but obviously most players look good if you only see their highlights.

Definitely a Caldwell type player, so suspect there’s legs to this rumour, particularly if O’Rourke is reporting it as his hit rate is good. Hopefully he’s able to keep improving and add something to our midfield…He’ll probably replace Tom Carroll should he sign.

He'll leap at the chance as Gateshead is a dead end, they're unable to get promoted because of their ground contract.

Never seen Croasdale play before so no idea what he's like. I'm not really sure that midfield needed to be a priority but we do love signing players who play there. Can only guess it might mean Ojo is off somewhere at some point.

We have been heavily linked with him for weeks. This driven mainly due to signing Sarcevic and Byrne from Stockport and Croasdale being released from the same
Club. There hasn’t been anything official to confirm our interest, but because he’s now signed for you, the teeny-boppers who spam our socials and fuel the cringeworthy Carlisle beef are adamant we’ve lost out - even though, again, there hasn’t been any indication that we were ever truly interested in his services.

I can’t deny, Croasdale would be a decent signing, but as someone has already alluded to, where does he fit in? The reality is, he doesn’t replace our captain, Ritchie Smallwood, and there’s already Jamie Walker, Antoni Sarcevic and Alex Pattison fighting it out for the other spot. Croasdale, if signed, was always going to be a squad player.

I think he’ll do well at Vale, though.

I've seen a few trolling Bradford over it for whatever reason but who knows. There's always a difference between clubs talking to players (which they should be doing anyway) and actually making them offers in any case. From his interview after signing it's been on the cards with us for a couple of weeks. As I say though its the one area of the pitch where we do have significant strength so guess will see how DM intends to set the team up.

Hopefully at some point before pre-season starts we address the centre forward(s) we need as well as a leftback and probably another centreback too.

Any Accy fans left on here? What type of defender is Ross Sykes? Can he play a bit? Or is he just a 'clears his lines' unit?

Were rumoured to be after an English player currently in Belgium. He seems the most likely.

I don’t know what ‘anything official to confirm our interest’ means but Simon Parker named him in an article last month.

Gills fans, what's Connor Mahoney like? Rumoured to be linking up with Stephen Clemence again at Barrow
Very skilful player.
Can drift out of games though and don’t expect him to track back, that’s not his game.
He can make things happen though and plenty of our fans would have been happy to have him back.
A luxury player would be the best way to sum him up.

I can drive a centre forward down to you kieran, namely Vadaine Oliver?

Pete O’Rourke now confirming that we’ve agreed a deal with Tommy Leigh.

Wonder if any Notts fans can give me a low down on Ed Francis? He’s at Gateshead now and we’ve tabled a bid according to Pete O’Rourke.
We agreed a deal in January but he fractured his skull. By all accounts at the time we were getting a great deal, so I’d imagine he’ll be somewhat decent at L1 level.

Hopefully not, a holding pair of Ojo and Croasdale sounds like it could work very well. Ojo should be one of, if not the best in the league technically you'd think so would like to keep him ideally.

Ojo would be fine until the first time we hit a dodgy spell and he starts getting pouty face and downs tools. Seen the film too often with him.

Didn't us and you all agree we were even after the whole Guthrie and Robinson thing? With that said could he be any worse than Ryan Loft...? Probably not.

Unfortunately Twitter seems to bring out the absolute biggest tossers in society, every time a player signs for someone you get wazzocks trying to troll the other team spouting absolute shite.
Since we lost the play off to Bristol Rovers in 2015 both sets of fans seem to have had a mutual respect for each other as there was no bother and fans mixing and getting on, yet when they signed Conteh from us some of them were all over Twitter trying to troll us even though we all knew he was going as it was obvious from his first couple of games that he was too good for league 2.
I’m on Twitter but I’ve nearly quit it a couple of times due to absolute morons.

How many of this relegated Port Vale side that have only won two league matches this calendar year are the best players in their position at this level then?
I remember this Vale fans classic from a few seasons ago: ‘If it wasn’t for those 15 games in a row when we were shit we would’ve made the play offs’.

Charlton
When he was at Wimbledon I thought he was shit. Then he signed for charlton so what do I know.
Was really signed as backup but ended up playing quite a lot last season. His versatility was a bonus but was part of the worst Charlton defence I've ever seen. That being said I didn't mind Thomas. He's limited on his technical ability but can't doubt his effort. I'd expect him to get on ok in League 2. He was definitely a better player for us than Lavelle

Funso is a class player, just his attitude that is in question, we turned down a bid from Bolton for him last year.

The reason we only won 2 matches was our non existent strike force and leaky defense... both which need addressing still, midfield wise we are probably as strong as any at this level. Its the rest of it thats the problem!

Two of our midfielders hit double figures in League One in a dire side last season, Funso holds it together (add Ronan Curtis and Croasdale and thats ready to go IMO) but of course with the likes of Garrity and Funso we may of course lose them if we dont resist bids from above.

That was a bizarre season, I think what we said was had we had an even below average run in that middle part we'd have made the play offs, not that we should of made the play offs because we had that horror run!

We had 19 points from the first 10 games and 25 from the last 11 but won 3 in between, that said that crappy spell gave us DC and that gave us the magical 2021/22 season.

There has been no hints that Young may be going. However, I will not be in the least surprised if he has gone by the end of August.

You are very welcome to try and make a striker out of Vadaine Oliver though.

How about getting Josh Davison from us? Had a decent-ish scoring record on loan with you and has now matured into a very good striker who wins everything in the air, has pace to burn and is a clinical finisher. We'd all be distraught if he moved on.

If Funso Ojo is still as good as he was with us, he will be a class above at this level

Got a serious attitude problem though, throws his toys out the pram numerous times here

Thats the one issue, when Crosby got the boot he quite openly made it clear he wasn't happy about it.

Where do you reckon, Stockport?.

We are well stocked for attacking midfielders otherwise I would have loved to see him come home. You are probably aware he spent 10 years with us as a kid.
