Woah! It's meant to be lil owd unfashionable Manny T that's supposed to be splashing daft cash.

Bloody Swindon and Luton with their bright, shiny southern based casket of a war-chest; us with a shovel in the backyard unearthing grannies hidden china.

Swindon tend to pay average wages but they paid bigger fees for Luongo and Vigoroux in League One if I recall correctly.

Nowt wrong with paying fees if you can afford to pay them. Most the time clubs pay signing on fees and bigger wages to sign free agents but we ourselves are the type of club that can dish out a six figure fee to sign a player fairly regularly from time to time subject to transfer income.

If FGR balk at a price and then you double it, your transfer policies be fucked.

However, he deserves the benefit of the doubt. He's already 3 goals behind James Collins who went for only 50k more, though.

Collins was more like £250k so £100k less. If that reported Swindon fee is accurate it would be the highest in the division by a long old way I imagine.

Just wondering if there are any players in Lutons squad that are NOT worth 1M?

Every time there's talk of somebody looking at a Luton player it's always 1M or above, what the fuck is this team doing in the depths of the football league ffs?

Because we sell most of the ones that are worth £1m?

It's all young developing players too so the valuations are based on potential as much as how good they are currently. Isaac Vassell only scored 8 league goals last season so hardly the return of a top striker, but his rate of progression is ridiculous which is why he is attracting interest now.

Oh right, was 400k the rumoured fee while the deal was all speculation then? Or is 400k what you got for Marriot? There was a 400k figure for something Luton related, I'm sure. Either way, you really did pull Crawley's pants down with that one.

Marriott was £400-£450k depending on who you believe.

None of our players are worth this much, no league 2 player is. However these are the sort of fees at which we will currently let certain players go at for 2 reasons.

1/ Our players are under long term contract. As such there is no need to sell in fear of losing the for nothing.

2/ We don't need to sell. It's been said before, but we bought in around £2million from McGeeham and Marriott sales plus Andre Gray add ons this summer. We don't need the cash.

As such, these are the level of offers at which the we would have to sell as the money recouped would vastly outweigh the player in questions current contribution.

However the first point is not true of Vassel, he is in the last year of his contract. There is one on the table for him to sign however if he doesn't we will have to look at the bids that come and and decide whether the value of the offer outweighs his potential contribution this season if we were to lose him from free in the summer. If it were me, £500k is the level at which I'd consider accepting an offer. However I'm a fan and don't see him as a business asset, so suspect the board may see things differently.

Tyler Denton signs on a season long loan from Leeds having just signed a long term deal with them. Left back (which we were desperate for) he is highly rated at Elland Road and scored on his debut against Luton Town in the Cup.

Not eligible tomorrow against his parent he goes into the squad for Saturday.

Chuffed to get it done finally as need a left back and seems to be a very good capture for us. Just an attacking central midfielder now and we are about done.

Woolery was incredible at Wembley and instantly became a fans favourite for that game but before that game a lot of our fans were moaning about him, me as well as his end product was terrible, he'd score 1 out of 10 shots. He has pace and commitment but not a very good footballing brain!

Jonathan Smiths contract cancelled by mutual consent. Expect him to rock up at a mid table league 2 output sharpish.

Anyone in the market for an enthusiastic, if limited, central midfielder who struggles with passes further than five yards but loves a slide tackle?

We actually need someone like him. Returning to Hive regularly may be too much for him after that horrific leg break a few seasons back.

Woolery confirmed. 350k which as others have said is a big fee for a league 2 outlay.

However he is a good age and seems to be talented. If he can continue to progress we could be looking at a transfer fee 10 times that amount in 2 years.

Posh do this sort of thing very well so I can understand the outlay. It's a punt, and possibly an expensive one but then again so was Luongo and Vigoroux and they were/have been class.

Looking forward to seeing what this kid can do on Saturday.

It seems like we missed out on Tyler Denton who has gone to Port Vale. It's a tricky one as we are in desperate need of a LB but once Habergham comes back he'll probably not get the game time parent clubs want.

Seems we're closing in on JJ Hooper, bit mixed on that one as he has shite reviews elsewhere but that's a league above. It's also him playing on the wing but up top he started his career fairly well.

We'll see how it pans out.

Pleased to get Tyler Denton on board as left back was our weakest position. Just need an attacking midfielder and we are done.

Stevenage it is. Solid signing from them. Will never give less than 100% however was never likely to force his way into the side this year.

Leaves Pelly as the last remaining member of the Conference promotion side.

Not going to be like one of those bitter Notts country fans who will say a player is terrible just because they missed out on him but Woolery is a big gamble at that price, he has potential, and his pace is frightening in my eyes great signing for Swindon but for a big over payment.

Pretty pleased with Woolery. Not too keen on the price but if we get a decent chunk of the Flint cash then it's essentially risk free.

We needed pace in this team and he should certainly give us that.

Interested to see if Flitcroft wants to use him out wide or through the middle as he said we were after a striker last week, wonder if he sees Woolery as that striker or a wide man where he seemed to play for FGR last season. If the latter then we may still be on the hunt for another forward.

Cheers for the feedback guys. I think we are in agreement it's a big outlay and I hope he delivers.

It's written in the stars he will score against you for sure! ;)

We didn't miss out on him. He was shite for us. Would I have him ahead of Jon Stead? Absolutely.

top signing for this level, Leeds tied him down to a 3 year deal and have very high hopes for him, scored on his debut for our 1st team too in a cup game iirc

should have read more of your post tbh

Could of let him play Wednesday ;)

I'm pleased we've built a shrewd squad under Browny and seems to be using his contacts well in the loan market.

Left back was crucial as we only had Gunning and Kelly who is one for our future.

Callum Guy when fit and an attacking midfielder and il be delighted with how our business has gone.

Lewie Coyle our RB is at Fleetwood

2 hot prospects out gaining experience, let's hope we don't sell like usual
