Connor Jennings leaves us for Edgeley Park. A great servant to Rovers and still good enough for League Two in reality.

Stockport have signed a good player.

Utility player by the sounds of it. Can play anywhere at the back or in midfield.

Morecambe fans/Oldham fans opinions please?

I liked mills played 29 games last season if he played one more he would of triggered a contract extension so was frozen out by the owner. Good going forward

I liked him, good going forward but his tackling was a bit questionable at times. Can fill in at centre mid if you get desperate aswell. Decent signing for you.

Very trusting to give a rookie manager such a generous budget - just like Mansfield last season. Pressure is immediately on.

If Bolton fuck this up they’re a gonner.

Go to trust in the manager, no transfer fee's paid still wonder if that salary embargo was only for last season, still can't find out if it is

Obviously not if you’re signing players who will demand a right good wedge. Surely no club would be so stupid to sign players on contracts that are in breach of rules.

It’s all well and good saying trust the manager, but he is totally unproven at league level - including some experienced egos playing for a basement club.

Can just see the situation where Doyle struggles to score and him telling the manager how Wellens did it.

It’ll either go real well or be a total disaster.

Amazing business from Bolton I think, 3 freebies albeit on high wages, all proven. I work with a Bolton fan and he assures me that the owners have the money.
I don't think any of these signings are as ludicrous as some of Salford's over the past 2-3 years.

Wonder how many season tickets they're expecting to shift?

They should be right up there if these signings are anything to go off, but that is immense pressure for a club on its knees with an unproven league manager and basically a brand new squad.

But when you realise they offered more in wages to Doyle than Salford would offer, you’ve got to wonder how much they’re paying him - Salford paid over £5k pw for Adam Rooney.

Big difference is, you have to pay players more to go to Salford. In this league, players would rather come to us, especially if it means locating to the North West. Doyle said (whether you believe him is a different matter), he was offered more elsewhere but wanted to come to us

He may have been offered more by Salford, but the reason he turned it down was that Bolton offered three years! Not because he liked the look of the stadium...

Doyle has made no secret he was after one last, big pay day - preferably in the North West. Honestly, he wouldn’t care less who it was with.

Got absolutely no problem with that. He does, though, have a very sketchy record at more than a few clubs. Hope it works out for him, but I wonder if he is going to be as motivated as he was with us.

I will put this straight for people who live away from the north west and know nothing of Boltons Debt/Finance.

They have new owners. While not mega rich they are wealthy people.

The club now is being run right and they have a stadium Hotel which makes money year round.

Depending on when and how many people will be permitted to watch games this coming season i would expect 10000 plus season tickets to be sold.
Another plus is that players under 21 do not count with the salary cap. We have six or seven quality first team squad members who fall into this bracket. Two Politic and Darcy are quality and i expect them to be playing every week.

Looks a decent signing to replace Callum Evans/Will Atkinson in that competition at right back with Gibbons who has been excellent so hopefully they will push each other.

Starting to take shape now.

He might have improved since he was with us, and don’t get me wrong, he was decent for us and some, including me, were disappointed when he left, but I wouldn’t put him as first choice right back in a team looking for promotion which I think vale will be

We've signed Ouss Cisse on a 2 year deal after his loan spell with us last season.

Delighted with this, he made such a big difference to us when he played. A defensive midfielder who can head, tackle and play a bit. Good Leader as well.

I think we're very happy with our first choice right back - academy product James Gibbons, this guy will have to play very well to keep him out of the side, although he'll likely get a few chances due to suspensions :bg:

I think a 1 year deal looks like he's coming in as cover, Askey did it last year with a load of rubbish really and thankfully we never really had to rely on most of them.

At Lincoln we are yet again being linked with Theo Archibald, ex Macc and FGR, is he any good?
He was OK for us...just don't let him anywhere near Twitter.

I am guessing he has grown up in the meantime, probably learned from his mistakes, but there are some things that you just shouldn't do or share!

I think that’s an immense signing for that level. He played for one of the best league 2 sides last season, played a lot of football also and never let us down. He’s got 0 pace but rarely gets caught out. He’s got a fantastic football brain. Just don’t play him at full back he’s to slow for that, he’s a fantastic centre half. Personally I’d have kept him as back up in league 1, that’s how good he’s been for us.
Good stuff. We are desperate for an experienced head at Centre Back, so sounds like he could be ideal.
