Has Neil Cox gone too ?

He wasn't very complementary about your players at a Watford event .

Said they basically need to be told what to do all the time !
He signed them. He is a massive twat and generally disliked amongst our fans. Yep he has gone thank fuck.

Any early contenders for the job?

Jason Euell has done a brilliant job with our development sides and wondering whether this could be his break into first team management. Hopefully, having already gone the popular ex-player route already, Wimbledon will be looking elsewhere.

Yes thank god ardley has gone.He should've gone 5 or 6 weeks ago.He has put together one of the worst Wimbledon teams I have ever seen.I doubt whether a new manager will be able to do much with this shambles of a team, but at least a new manager will give us hope for a week or two !!!!

Seems a bit harsh on Askey, last season was surely a fluke wasn`t it?
Askey spent 600k on transfers in the summer and then promised the fans that we’ll be up there fighting for promotion once again, he hasn’t helped himself.

His tactics are bizarre, he really is not a FL manager. At the start of the season he insisted on playing Lenell John Lewis up front on his own, in a League One team that he’s saying will fight for promotion. Couldn’t make it up!

The annoying thing is, I genuinely believe that we’ve got a squad that can challenge at the top end of League One but they were being led by a Non League manager. Hopefully now we bring in the right man to sort this shitstorm of a season out.

I don’t want Hurst back and hate to say it, but if he was managing this team then we’d be in the top 6. Reckon we’ll end up going for Paul Heckingbottom which I think would be a decent appointment.

How's Angol getting on? Didn't strike me as a L1 striker at all so that move was a surprise.

I'm sure it wasn't, but the sacking has come across as though not beating Salford being the final straw, which would be a little harsh. They signed 4 or 5 players from L1 in the summer and pay silly money so it was never going to be an easy tie to get through.

Yes I don't think it was the Salford result - it had been coming, he was only saved from the sack a couple of weeks ago because of a great win and performance against Barnsley which papered over the cracks but was followed up by a horrific defeat away against a pretty poor Oxford side. Salford was always going to be tricky as they have momentum plus some good players - I read somewhere that their budget way exceeds ours....

I think many fans would but I fear he burned his bridges with the chairman and CEO by the manner of his departure. Plus I don't think he'd come back as he probably sees himself as above little old Shrewsbury now. I reckon he'll sit on his big fat pay-off for a while and perhaps wait for an opening at one of the bigger L1 clubs such as Bradford. I think he'll be waiting a while if he wants another Championship club....

Thanks I hadn`t realised you had spent money.

There’s too much going on behind the scenes to get rid of Hopkin so soon; the odd player coming in (Paul Caddis set to sign today), backroom staff leaving to accommodate his own, we’ve also brought back the previous chairman who sold us to the Germans to try and rescue us from within which Hopkin has been complimentary of. Saying that his win record is non existent (6% I think) and Saturday will bring our 7th straight league loss down at Peterborough.

We are about to take a gamble and employ Wally Downes as our manager with a strong coach as number 2. Old school Wimbledon mentality here we go.

His deletion of his much used twatter account would suggest that he's been offered the job. Happier with him than Kevin Nolan who apparently turned us down.

This site's falling over - yet again - meant that the big announcement couldn't be discussed. Wally Downes has been appointed with Glyn Hodges as his No 2. Both Dons legends with a lot of coaching experience but not much in the way of managerial. Somewhat ironic that the Daily Heil is focusing on Wally's lad type tweets and his support for brexit. Sadly our policy of doing the right thing led to a rather dreadful article on our website. Way too much emphasis on Wally's previous twitter activities and not enough celebration of his appointment.

I don't agree with his views, but he's not been employed for that. Both he and Glyn have an excellent coaching record and hopefully they can turn things around.

In case anyone missed it we have appointed Sam Ricketts who was Rectum Wrexham manager. Bit of a risk I'd say as hes been in managment for about 5 months!

The silver lining is that even if he does terribly, it has send the fans of our most hated rivals into meltdown.

I'd be interested to know how the Shrews Board came to the conclusion Ricketts was the man for them. I mean, he's not even completed half a season as a manager yet and Askey's done more at that level than him, who they've just got rid of.

Don't get me wrong, it might turn out ok but I can't quite see the reasoning of it.
