So the Carlisle options seem to be either:

A: hiring a manager currently failing a level up

B: Hiring a manager failing at this leve

And in either case she inking couple of hundred thousand for the privilege.

Or

C: hiring someone who has failed but least that costs nothing.

Hmmm decisions decisions

I know there always a few names thrown out at this stage, but this seems an unusually large amount. I mean given that the new guys are probably in the building right now. Mind you, it's probably them throwing all the names out hoping the bookies will reopen the book.

Don’t think Williamson would necessarily be a bad hire, they could do a lot worse but…the optics of watching that MK Dons side this year and paying compensation for him now is insane

Williamson still in charge of MK tonight.

Wonder what the next rumour will be.

Fuck that, Dippy is my number two. Not shit, just assistant.
Yeah you can be the public facing one, I'll back you up with facts and figures.

Like the fact that Colchester have won 2 games this season in 90 minutes... both against us.

Please, please hurry up and pay the compo Carlisle.

Williamson is a big cock-munching dick with a willy for a face. Penis.

He’s apparently so bad we’re now requesting compo from Mk dons to take him off your hands

If Mike Williamson is so bad then how's his win percentage in the high 40s?

That seems pretty solid to me.

Most of that would have happened pre-February. At one point since he came in we were the best team in the league. But our away form was always sketchy at best and now we've lost 6/8 games this season.

It’s going to be a weird few either days or weeks for both clubs.

Carlisle will know he’s near the sack and if so we pay nothing…..mk dons know they want a change but know if they sack him now it costs them money and loses them compensation.

Both are playing total and utter sh*t and need new direction and realistically asap but you can see a weird situation where both may drag on with bad performances and thumping defeats to save on cash neither of these new owners seem bothered about.

If it is no.1 choice surely a sensible low compensation compromise would suit both

I reckon we'll appoint sporting director Sweeting this week, then we'll try for Williamson but if we don't get him we'll go in heavy for Elliot.

Sweeting is staying, thankfully. Of the two despite him having a couple of ropey windows, Sweeting is who is much prefer we kept.

And moments after that breaks, Nixon states that Williamson to Carlisle is done.

i don’t doubt it’s true, but it makes no sense

I thought the whole point of employing a SD was so that he decides or at least has an input in appointing the head coach. Unless we have a second choice lined up who also approves of Williamson

It HAS to be someone in a job or else why no announcement, they have clearly made their choice as choices were bigged up on Monday if they were free agents they’d be in.

Got to point to one or both choices being currently in a job

So reading from the outside MK's director has been lined up for the Carlisle job, suggested they go in for Williamson and then turned the job down, signed a new deal at MK while also bringing in a big compensation fee for them?

 That’s how it looks, looks like we’ve been had. But I’m hoping there’s more to it than that and we wanted Williamson regardless.

That should really say:
"Milton Keynes Dons are delighted to announce the appointment of Mike Williamson as Carlisle United's Head Coach."

We apparently rejected an initial bid, I would imagine that would have been for financial reasons though rather than desperately trying to keep him.

What are the 3 coaches like? We’ve heard all about how terrible you think Williamson is. But are the Bell, Magnay and Watson just as bad?
