Bradford putting a few wins on the board again. It looks like yet another good predicition from me. They've had a lot of injuries to overcome too. Going to be a very tight league this season.
Thought we were a safe Play Off bet and nothing’s changed my opinion on that, but another defender off injured today and another pulled out before kick off - I can’t think of another season with so many out at one time especially in mostly one position.

It's hard to say how much the fault is down to him.

The club is a mess from top to bottom at the moment. The fans don't trust the board, the management or the players. They can't relate to the players because we don't know who half of them are.

Flynn has basically thrown all the players under the bus in his post-match interview.

It's amazing how far we've dropped by the way - I've not seen a single good team in League 2 this season (possibly Walsall tbf) and we've been worse than pretty much all of them.

WHAT??
He was bloody awful!
Not every foul is a yellow card! Really boils my piss!

Anyway, home now with a well earned 3 points. It is always great to see Karl Robinson losing his shit with everyone at the end
What is DA having for his 3 away wins on the bounce celebratory tea (as you knew who was on the team sheet last night)?
Artell at his best again when he puts a team out to contain and defend. Looking at the stats, Grimsby absorbed a lot of pressure. Big credit to all involved including the man in the dugout.

The moment he goes back to trying to pass out from the back etc, things will start to come unstuck again. Grimsby and Artell need to stick to what they're good at.
if you look at the starting line-up, it was about as ambitious as we could get considering the players available. 4-2-3-1 with a 19 year old winger in the 10 role and an 18 year old centre forward playing wide.

As soon as McReacran got a knock we had to go 5 at the back.

DA will go to 5 at the back when availability dictates, but 4-2-3-1 / 4-3-3 is his strong preference.

Just heard DAs post match interview. Green out for a bit, Luker pulled something in the warm up, Obikwu also has an injury. Thompsons progress back to fitness has slowed.

We may not be able to fill the bench without Academy lads next week. It will be some achievement if we get to Christmas comfortably top half
So that's Wright, Eastwood, Thompson, Davies, Green, Vernam, Luker, Obikwu, and possibly now McEachran (haven't heard anything about the injury that took him off), all now hobbled. What a piss take

Maybe so but we will probably be in the green still from the Dipepa sale you’d think.

Mind you Byers hasn’t turned down big L1 and Championship clubs for a bag of peanuts and because he likes Dazza.

Chuffed for Shorrock today though, that ball was delicious for the goal. Another big prospect from the academy and once we figured out Nemane he was on top.

It's an incredible cross really. Pretty impressive for a 17 year old to have that in his locker. Need him to keep it going though with John out for a few weeks. Thought he defended a really tricky player in Nemane very well once he got his measure.

With the absolute greatest of respect, is this Cheltenham's level? I've always known them as a bottom division/ non league team. Sometimes you've just got to accept your level. Ours us league 2/league 1. We'd be punching well above our weight in the Championship.

We've got amazing owners who have thrown a lot of money at our team this season, but we know that our income is reasonably good. We're getting 7k+ average crowds and our club has massively improved on corporate income. We've got a pretty big ground, lots of boxes and plenty of room for functions.

Cheltenham get maybe 4-5k....and the ground is small so has limited scope for other activities. I'm not trying to belittle you, but sometimes you just have to accept that bottom half of league 1 is probably absolute maximum for you.

Didn't Yeovil manage it?

No.

Yeovil stayed in L2 for a couple of seasons before going down.

Which is a shame because we were their bogey team.

Yep, it is.

Unfortunately someone has to be bottom of a division and doing absolutely shit. I'm just fed up of it having to be us all the time.

Worst part about it is we have a couple of players who are on the highest wages in the league and this is what we're being served up with.

The only ones having wet dreams are your lot thinking you could sign him, face it, KD wanted away from the stags to stay in league one :)
30 points more to go for us for safety mate, got more points in 9 games than you have a division below in 11 games ‘step down’

DKD left to try and get promoted to the championship, so you’ve messed that one up, and so has he potentially - I don’t fancy Barnsley chances!

I’d rather us chuck a substantial fee at someone like Rob Apter personally, think pace is something that would benefit us more in L1 at the minute.

I did expect you not to be up there like you expected, just because it’s so difficult to turn around a team and environment used to losing, but not to be this hopeless.

Still plenty of time, I’m sure you’ll pull out of those bottom two, despite how poorly it’s going.

Would have thought Captain Birdseye would have been happier about Grimsby winning tbh.

That would be a superb point if we hadn't have been passing out from the back all season mate.

A bit of an overly giddy preview from ODL yesterday followed here by the inevitable crushing let down.

Thought a draw was a pretty fair result really after a cracking game. From our pov as always we play some lovely football in meaningless areas, we can’t defend or score from set pieces, we’re wholly reliant on 4(now 3) players for anything actually creative or threatening although Crowley was dogshit today and the last 3 games against anyone half decent indicate to me that Maynard won’t get us up while he’s got a hole in his arse. Rebound penalties in the 94th minute are a lot of fun.

Off the field highlight today was a £2.95 pint of Brampton mild from that pub near the ground. Yum yum. How tf does anyone do any work in Chesterfield?
£2.95 a pint! Fecking hell, lucky to get anything under a fiver down here.

FGR last season were one. We might be following them this season.
Good to beat you at yours at last but a long way to go yet and hope you stay up. The more league teams in the area the better.

I can’t imagine what you’re going through.
Like I feel absolutely shit about this, worse than I ever felt last season, but I was expecting us to struggle (though not quite this bad) so I kind of feel like I was prepared. Still absolutely devastating, but expected to a degree.
You on the other hand and many others were tipping us to steamroll the league so must be in a state of shock about what’s happening on top of the devastation.

Hopefully things get better for us. I don’t know much more one fanbase can take to be honest.

I was just talking shite about us bulldozing the league etc. However I thought we'd be doing a lot better than we are so I'm very suprised.

The only hope I see right now is Callum Guy finally being back who is a huge influence and there are more better players to return from injury soon so hopefully we'll have enough to survive.

But what a depressing year it's been.

The Glassworks I think it’s called. Great beer, cheap, and got served quickly. Fantastic…

Yes the Brampton pub is the Glassworks. Plenty of places to get a decent pint round the ground but I don’t reckon many of them would be as cheap as that.

Two poor teams, one of whom had Andy Cook up front. We're in for a very long season...

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m fairly sure you had a full squad to choose from? Just when we thought we were getting bodies back, they start to drop like flies (again).

You’re right though, two poor teams. One team were missing 4-5 starters, finishing the game again with only one recognised CB, and the other was powder puff at best - despite this, depleted squad claimed all 3 points!

Who said anything about Cheltenham's level? I didn't even mention Port Vale.

In 6 months we've gone from competing in League 1 to not competing in League 2. I don't care what our "level" is, I care about how far we've dropped in such a short time.

Any news on the Swindon fan that was subject to the medical emergency? I'm assuming it was nothing serious given the game restarted quite sharpish after the initial issue.

Pretty much similiar to what I think about us , I reckon we would struggle at league 1 though - teams like Cheltenham, Accy , Morecambe getting to league 1 and surviving is a massive achievement in itself isn't it ? Same with Exeter & Cambridge they are not even bankrolled clubs to any degree but must just get things right for a while but being in a relegation battle most years can't be much fun ; least I know it's not because we have been there in this division enough times over recent years .
