Official ball retriever at Holyport FC in Maidenhead.

I was at Holyport on Saturday. In fact I was at the game that this picture was taken. They have a fishing net there too so they can retrieve balls from the river once they're knocked out of the trees. Not sure it's fair to call it "tinpot" but it does show the variety of non league venues. It's quite a nice place to watch football.

Not being able to appeal a sending off from a weekend game because the ref doesn't get his report in, in time and therefore means the Club miss their appeal deadline. Apparently...

Being unable to make a substitute because the wrong team sheet was handed in. So the player was changed and ready to come on but was refused because his name wasn't down as a sub. Apparently....

A forum that only keeps half the posts made.

This post will probably have disappeared before anyone reads it.
Yeah but if that means some of B2TF's posts disappear it can only be a good thing....... :fl:

Was that why the BBC website stated that Nurse was one of our subs against Eastleigh when really it was Michael Gash?

Rather club songs than goal music that some Non League teams seem to have adopted. If I hear Chelsea Dagger one more time.......... :ffs:

Club songs:

It's normally played just before the players come out of the tunnel. "Cos under Brian Hall it's the appliance of science." :ffs:

Oh dear. It seems to start off OK, and then the second half just goes steadily down hill. The bit about having a drink in the bar, "but we haven't built one yet" and talking about local pubs as a result of this... let alone to "we've been to places as far as Barrow", way to sell the glamour!

I'll see your Wealdstone Club Song and raise you Basingstoke's Club Song.

Ah yes, Basingstone's infamous club song.

Jemfy - I cringe every time I hear the song, none of it has any meaning nowadays. We don't play in the Alliance, we don't play at Lower Mead and it's been a solid 25 years+ since we last played Barrow in a league fixture.

That reminds of Ay ay ay love Barnet, which was released a decade ago. It's a rewrite of Modern Romance's 80s hit (?) Ay ay ay Moosey and came about because the singer is related to our chairman. (Un)fortunately I cannot find a video of it.

The Basingstoke song is far worse than the Wealdstone one, which does have a bit of period charm. It's worse on every level but what really clinches it for me is that it's trying to be an 'urban' track when Basingstoke as a place is anything but and the singer has a slightly gormless voice.

I'd like to think ours comes under the category of 'period charm'...

Agree with you, I loathe goal music, just let the fans make some noise in celebration!

That Blyth Spartans effort was a good one. Always liked that lot.

That Blyth Spartans effort is pretty good, it's got a bit of soul and a bit of a rock n' roll swagger.
The QoS effort sort of reminds me of Teenage Fanclub.

Blundell Park used to have this ringing out as the teams came out:

Then if we had lost we had to walk out to this:
