That is half. The fact relegated L2 clubs are going to have a £500k headstart for getting relegated is a bad joke.

Jesus really? Didn't realise it was that much now, distorts the playing field almost as much as the Premier League payments.

Especially when you waste it on Jake Cassidy, Luke George, Jack Munns and Mr Toni&Guy himself Wor Craig Harrison.

Yes, we made a tidy sum from that which enables us to have the same sort of budget as last season. We just need to slim down our squad now.

Teams for next season are currently:

AFC Fylde
Barnet
Barrow
Boreham Wood
Bromley
Chesterfield
Chorley
Dagenham & Redbridge
Dover Athletic
Eastleigh
Ebbsfleet United
FC Halifax Town (est. 2008)
Gateshead
Harrogate Town
Hartlepool United
Maidenhead United
Notts County
Solihull Moors
Stockport County
Sutton United
Torquay United
Woking
Wrexham
Yeovil Town

Gateshead may well step aside to allow Aldershot back into the league. No team here stands out for me before signings are made, but I suspect ourselves, Fylde, Chesterfield, Solihull and Notts County will be amongst the favourites. There will also be 2 separate leagues taking place this time with the brotherhood table being contested between 6 sides and the Magpie cup, which will be competed between Notts County, Chorley and Maidenhead. Good luck to all who aren't Fylde, Boreham Wood or Solihull!
Love it....finally we may get our hands on a cup.

Don't worry, ours will disappear into the ether without any explanation from the board.

Isn't the parachute payment halved in the second year?
Yep. Hence the 300k cut to our budget. Will be just less than £1m according to the board.

Well, one thing's for sure next season.... our travelling is going to go through the roof compared to our short venture into NLS and the addition of two northern clubs (Stockport and Chorley).

Our longest trip is to the never-regions of Gateshead (766 mile round-trip). Our 'local' game sees us travel to Yeovil (a mere 140 mile round-trip).

As I was bored at work (again) I got out a fag packet and scribbled down some figures on it....

If you're a Torquay fan, living in Torquay and want to travel to every away game next season be prepared... be very prepared... 11,072 miles on the road... the ink ran out in my pen when I tried to work that out at as hours on the road but, err, it's a lot!

our shortest is 154 (Fylde) and longest 768 (Dover) - but the total is only 10,304 (so far) - but increases to 10652 if Aldershot replace Gateshead - which will probably be about the same as your new total would be

Rowe isnt on more than double that. More yes, not double.

You only have to look at that retained list to see who's spunking fortunes. Yet to see one squad on there smaller than ours. Which begs the question, how badly managed are these clubs. Take Wrexham for example. Budget at a guess, 900k. 26/27 players. Been here 11 years. Just reaks of piss poor management but they're far from being the only ones. Sure I counted one of the sides on it with more than 30 players. Ridiculous

I realise you're trolling, but let's get our facts straight here. In the last 15 years, two successive megalomaniac chairmen have cost Wrexham AFC the following:
- their stadium
- the not inconsequential amount of land surrounding their stadium
- their state of the art training facility
- a third facility they leased out to a local team
- their place in League One, then their place in League Two
- their academy

Since the fans have taken over, they have:
- paid off all debts the megalomaniac chairmen left them with
- put into the constitution that the club only spends what it can generate
- secured a long term lease on the ground that the club used to own
- secured lease on a new training ground

As a result, Wrexham AFC is now solvent. They don't have the resources to stop other teams nicking their managers, or to compete for the very best Conference-level players, but I'd say it's better to be sustainable than gambling recklessly on promotion.

You may call that "piss poor management", but nobody at Wrexham AFC is going to be spunking quarter of a million quid on beak and slags. Not since Mickey Thomas* left, anyway.

*he didn't do any of those things

Whilst that's all very commendable glyn, your club appointed Graham barrow on a 2/3 year deal as permanent manager, that is madness for a club of your size and stature. Fans fault or not, that is bad management

Mentioned it on the Gateshead thread, but they are due to visit the courts tomorrow regarding a winding up order - number 59 on the list.

Ebbsfleet are also on the list, at number 149

Not seen a lot of publicity on either case, so assume they will both be thrown out

That's strange our longest round trip is 768 miles as well , when I stop having a life I will work out Dover mileage for the season until then I will say more that last season

Why is Challinor not getting other job offers? Either he is being paid exceptionally well, or noone wants him.

Why would he leave, he's obviously paid well and He has complete free reign over the side and our facilities are unbelievable. I can assure you one thing though, should he leave there would be many after him. Clubs and fans are always saying we play the best football in this division and that is solely down to him. In a league full of sides kicking the ball as far and high as they can and filling their teams with giants, chally is a breath of fresh air

Rudy Funk, former Scarborough manager was appointed manager last week. I just hope, in a way, the gap between my two clubs doesn't start shrinking.

Early thoughts, solihull are bromley are a fantastic price. Thought they would be shorter. Think stockport are too short as well, they've lost their best player. Think harrogate will be top 3 also

We're so bad that we're the same price as Ebbsfleet with their 6 players.

Even more tempting is Macclesfield's 4/1 odds to get relegated into this league.

I gather us being joint favourites is either to cover the bookies so not many back us or the news that we could soon be taken over by a billionaire.

Who'd struggled for form for the final third of the season, to such an extent many of us questioned his place in the side. Plus we've already got a couple of quality no.10s as backup... they don't share Warburton's sheer quality, of course, but many of us would've been more gutted to lose Keane or Palmer, both of whom are perhaps even more vital.

Sticking with the hybrid format. I don't really know who's part time and who isn't, I know Hinchliffe is and he's the best 'keeper we've had since dropping into non-League so I've no problem with the whole thing

Yeah he was always a good keeper for us Ben. How has Stephenson performed?
