If you slip up, we can slip up.

As I said before, if you do it then fair play. Your run-in is much tougher than ours.

I think momentum is key. Over the course of the season we've seen that almost anyone can beat anyone (with the possible exception of poor Basingstoke), but momentum can see you through.

Plus Truro, Maidstone and Ebbsfleet have the more than a little bit difficult task of playing Sutton.......

Whoever finishes top will deserve it. And I think each of the top 3 will do well to take 4 points this weekend

Im glad the club are going for the cheaper option to be honest. Give me a good terrace over a seated stand anyday of the week.
The current ''bus shelter'' behind that goal holds 800ish....removing that and upping the ground capacity by another 1000 means this new terrace should be a decent size

The orginal plan for a 900 seater stand with boxes, terracing infront etc etc was gonna cost close to a million or more....terrace option is gonna cost us less than half that

If, say, in 3 years you won promotion to the league, what could your capacity be raised to?

I believe the maximum capacity of the site is 7,000, but the money and demand would have to be there first, obviously.

Looks like Margate's sugar daddy has already had enough
http://www.kentonline.co.uk/thanet/sport/bulls-future-uncertain-92989/

So much for his dream of being the next Brighton or Southampton
Now confirmed http://www.margate-fc.co.uk/news/margate-fc-club-statement-1586257.html
No more 15-20k a week budget for them. Time for the gate to start living within their means

EPIC wasting of money though. Over 2 million wasted on players & they did nothing to improve the ground

So yeah, on the pitch they've done alright but nowt regarding the stadium. Always found it weird why nothing was done about that, and now I guess nothing will be.

That's a colossal waste of money considering Hendon finished above them last season and Margate were lucky that Hendon's small squad had been stretched thin by the time they met in the play-off final.

I'm taking for granted we'll lose against Ebbsfleet, so we really need a win against Bath on Monday. Else, it doesn't look good for us (WSM, if anyone is wondering) .

It would be typical of us to lose after a 6-0 win.

I'm hoping it gives us confidence to push on. Still unbeaten away from home in the league this season.

Covered above, sounds like they'll be OK in the short-term... Nikki Bull will have the perfect prep talk too with this to motivate his players (cutting the wage bill, I need you to prove you're worth keeping etc.), now just who are Margate playing this Saturday?

Confirmed that Matty Harriott has left the club to pursue a playing career in the States. Shame as he's progressed well during his short but successful stint with the club and we've missed his midfield presence in his absence.

Sorry hadn't seen that, but short term they might be okay but with no ground improvements and their massive wage bill they'll probably have a fall back down the leagues.

What startled me was a recent article in which it was reported that Nikki Bull had trimmed the wage bill by £10,000 a month. To my understanding, they've only lost two players (Sam Rents and Jamie Taylor) since he's come in as manager. £2,500 per week on two players is a eye watering sum of money. To put it into perspective, the weekly budget for our entire squad is just over £5,000.

I'm not sure how to react to the news, obviously it's detrimental to yourselves but those of us externally had the chance to visit Torquay (assuming you would survive). I'm hoping first and foremost that we keep our place in the National League South and secondly, that Poole and Bognor come up. I want a couple of extra 'proper' away days next season.

UTS!

Ohhh dear...not looking good

Havant and Waterlooville 1-0 Hayes and Yeading

With that result Havant close on us plus Weston somehow beating Ebbsfleet (?!?) we once again look like we are gonna slip into that trapdoor.

Was a 6-poimter tonight and we didn't take advantage of it. Plus we are game (s) ahead of everyone below us, currently. We'll just have to see what tomorrow chucks at us.

Didn't go, so can't comment. Sounded absolutely awful though. Both are our coaches arrived late, one at 3.20 and the other at half time. At least they saw the goals I guess!

If the other two win today then it's over for us unless they miraculously lose 2 or 3 after that.

Play offs v Truro it is!

Every bank holiday there is crazy traffic on the M5.

NEVER drive down the M5 (from M4 onwards) on a bank holiday for a football match. Get the train.

Oh behave Joe, we'll all drop points before the season is over, it's just an actual race now rather than a canter. It'd be terrific if all three teams went in to the last day with a shot of winning it!

What's happening at Ebbsfleet? I was so sure they were romping to the title that I weren't even bothering to look at the top end of the table. Otoh, I've just realised Sutton are on fire so wouldn't be surprised if they were to win this. They sure have come a long way, as I remember watching a couple of their games back in 2008(I think?) when they were terrible and losing matches 3 or 4 nil. Still got the match tickets and programmes somewhere.

Went to St Albans - they won 3-1 v Eastbourne Boro.

Seems like they are re-creating the great escape.

4 wins in a row since the old Borehamwood manager came in.

St. Albans will survive, Ian Allinson has done a job wherever he has gone. On Vanni's point, Sutton are the best side I've seen this season so it wouldn't surprise me if they won the league.

Wealdstone 4-1 Margate (Att: 750)

Weird game, one of fits and starts where there was no fluency in the match, however this was not helped by the wind and the rain. Margate were a leaked tap at the back, no organisation and couldn't defend set pieces to save their lives. Had we not gone into our shell at 3-1 up, I think we could have bagged a couple more.

Vitally important win that gives us a little breathing room above the drop zone. I still think we'll need two more wins to be assured of safety and it would be nice if we could get one of those wins at Bishop's Stortford on Monday.

Edit: In fighting between Margate's #2 and #7 (who was quite comfortably their best player) after our 4th goal went in, a first for me at football.

Looks like Margate are making a late run for the relegation zone.
After all the BBB and ''along for the ride'' idiots i encountered from them last year.....id love it if they went down

As for Ebbsfleet, i wonder what their sugar daddy is thinking of all this.....All that money spent and they may not even win the league. With that squad of players they should be pissing this league with ease, not struggling to get over the line

2007/08 was our low point. 5 wins and 9 draws in a 42 game season. Nightmare. But in the long term it forced us to sort ourselves out.

A third 2-0 away win in a space of a week. 6 points behind, 3 games in hand. It's doable
