Incorrect.

Made 34 appearances in 2013/14 season where Davies manager until March.

It’s all over for you.

Davies got sacked in March, he played 29 times under Davies entire tenure.

Next.

Are Nottingham Forest the only team who don’t play in cup competitions then?

34 games all competitions.

He played 3 games all season in 2012 so Davies did give him a chance.

Admit you were wrong you absolute freak.

He played 28 games in 13/14 under Davies and 1 in 12/13 (v Wednesday) you cannot count the games when there was another manager like the last 6 of 13/14 season....

Just to help you out, Billy Davies second spell at Forest lasted from Feb 2013 to March 2014, 59 matches, Lascelles played in 29, less than half of the managers tenure.

Does he like working with and developing young players as that is our model?

Not really, he's always preferred experience from his time here and at Derby, can't really speak for his spell at Forest.

In terms of ability, Davies is too good for League One but he's universally known as piece of work and is constantly trying to get chairmen to release funds.

I'd be amazed if he's a realistic option.

Thought Bellamy was a shoe-in

If he gets the job, which I suspect he will with Tiger being involved in the process according to him, then I now think it will be announced tomorrow or Monday. Tiger also now wants a quick resolution on the manager appointment as well apparently.

If not then I suspect it won't be Bellamy.

Why the fuck are a Wednesday fan and a Coventry fan arguing about how much time billy Davies gave Oliver Burke at Nottingham Forest in a thread about Oxford and their old manager/takeover?

It was Lascelles

Genuine question. What is the attraction in buying a club, any club, that doesn’t include the ground?

Fair question. Im with you. I support Oxford and i wouldn't want to own Oxford. Guesses:
  1. To impress women
  2. Thinking you can do what Eales did and sell 3 or 4 players for multiples of what they cost
  3. Thinking you can do what Eales did and leave a team a league higher
  4. Thinking you can buy the ground.

I would like to say Darryl Eales has been a good owner.

I would say that the only thing that would stop him being a brilliant owner is if he has botched the handover. Who knows on that but Eales left us a league higher, took us to Wembley 1.5 times, gave us the most enjoyable Ox team I've ever seen, our highest league position in however many years, FA Cup upsets, a couple of bankable players still left and a decent reputation with the bigger clubs.

Why don’t Oxford appoint someone like Billy Davies? He would get them into the play offs at least

Because Oxelona are better than that.

Do you not have the slightest tingling of dread when you see what he did to Reading? How did he pass the fit and proper person test seeing as he asset stripped them.

Thames Valley Royals, anyone!

I do certainly have a worry about him. That said I have the same worry with any new owner until they prove otherwise (or the fear is realised ie. Kassam).

At this point there is nothing we can do so have to hope he is a good owner. At least there aren't assets to strip.

He would have passed the fit and proper person test as what he did was legal as was what Kassam did to us was.

I don't really worry about football and I don't have a clue what he did to Reading but otherwise, I think the below post is a pretty sensible look at things.

After Craig Bellamy fell through due to the takeover, according to the Daily Telegraph and Daily Mirror Steve McClaren is going to be our new manager.

He ended his playing career with us and started his coaching career with us as well so there is a link. But whether pure speculation I don't know.

If it does happen, I hope he adopts a broad, rural Oxfordshire accent for interviews.

We are now being linked to Patrick Kluivert to become our new manager.

https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/5737437/patrick-kluivert-oxford-manager/

Don't know how to think on this one. Has some experience but not of English lower leagues obviously which is potentially a problem. Could be good or could be an utter failure, but I doubt it will be average should it happen.

The whole process has become a bit of a joke though.

Edgar Davids at Barnet springs to mind. Need to be careful your new owner just wants a name, regardless of ability. Thought after your last one, you’d steer clear of foreign managers.

Is your new owner the real deal or some kind of cowboy?

Your guess is as good as mine.
Reports of him being an asset stripper at Reading but,as we have no assets to strip, I find it an unlikely motive for joining us.

As said by Robie, haven't a clue.

I'm just hoping if Kluivert is appointed he is more like Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink at Burton than Edgar Davids.

Some joke claims on our forum has suggested McClaren as Director of Football with Kluivert as Head coach which would mirror how he set up at Reading. I'm hoping something like this is the case if it is Kluivert.

How is the Swindon search going?

Most are hoping Matt Taylor gets it - at least to season’s end. The orange glow of Phil Brown is hovering, though. Most are pleased Flitcroft has gone - albeit at a strange time. Apparently there was a financial get out clause in his contract. Power seemed as pleased as the fans to get rid, tbh.

Could be a good L1next season if we can scrape over the line and those Biscuitmen come down with Brum and Sunderland.

Im sure he played for newcastle too. But a foreign manager whos had nothing to do with the english game for years does ot bode well. Surely craig bellamey or even mcclarens a better fit. That dutch guy at barnet was a joke would not go to away games up north. To be fair at least hasslebank had a few years playing in england and continued liveing in the country upon retireing

Tiger has updated us and final face to face interviews will take place this week and we may find out before the weekend but I suspect not until next week. So Kluivert isn't a shoe-in as there is at least 1 more candidate based on his comments.

He also commented that if we get 10 wins out of 12 games then we can still make the play offs. :gr: Although I read it as he meant we will aim for it but he has no expectation of getting close.

Tbf to Phil Brown, he would likely get you over the line into the play offs but I wouldn't want him any longer.

Could be some good crowds if all those teams end up in L1 next season. It would be fun to see the Reading and Sunderland in L1.

That dutch guy

:lol::lol::lol:

Dan seems surprisingly chipper - Heard on a football podcast that the Swindon manager joined Mansfield Town. Said he felt the "warmth" from the fans during their game with Swindon. That is proper funny and it's great to see Swindon becoming a laughing stock on a show with international reach
