The worst part about it is, we actually play each other in the opening game at the Valley

What seemed an odd decision before, turned into a proper cluster fuck. But because both sides had already arranged and paid for everything - that includes fans from both sides as well, they both reluctantly kept it as it was. I heard Wellens wanted it pulled but ultimately lost that arguement for reasons just stated.

Clubs charging £6 to watch it as well on stream - proper rip off. I'm at work so couldn't watch anyway.

Its currently 1-1 Alfie May for Charlton and Aaron Drinan for us.

thank fuck, we're off the starting blocks here, 1-0 win for the first XI against Arsenal U21s.

Thankfully this one doesn’t count towards the prestige of the full table on here since it was a dev squad and triallists XI (on the same day as the First XI played Arsenal U21s) - but the said Wycombe stiffs XI got mullered 7-0 by the mighty Hanwell Town.

Presumably not going to be seeing too many of those triallists again, then.

Our second string won 1-0 at mickleover town last night - great to see Stuart beavon playing for them, he was an absolute legend for us.

Big six pointer (quite literally) for us today with two games against Kidsgrove at 13:30 and then Newcastle Town at 17:00. Squad to be split for them so will see a mixture of academy prospects in there too in both games.

Well done to Kidsgrove too who have laid on some free transport for fans after the game to go and catch the Newcastle game. Great gesture that.

Due to Leicester only playing one game in the UK this pre-season and the close locality, our friendly this afternoon is sold out with Leicester taking a few thousand fans. Nice little and probably unexpected coffer boost on gate receipts.

Seeing good reports about one of the youth lads Baylee Dipepa. Obviously can’t read to much into a gentle outing against a NWC level team but hopefully being around the first team squad can be a good experience for him.

Played behind closed doors at WBA training ground. We played two different teams in each half which was interesting for us as we struggled to put out a first eleven under Cotts towards the end of last season

Game was suspended on 30 minutes because of torrential rain, for Boston to then water the pitch at HT...! 5-0 when we changed all ten outfield players on 60 minutes - goals from Mandroiu (x2 (x1 pen)), Brown, Hackett, House, Kendall and Cann.

Too early for Tyler Walker to be involved, only him and Adelakun (transfer listed) not involved today by the looks of it.

Lost 1 - 0 to Leicester in our first game today. Despite starting pre-season late to compesate for it, the injury crisis from last year still showing it's impact, with only 11 first-team professionals fit enough to make the squad in the first friendly. Filled it up with a handful of youth team players and 8 trialists, who played the last 30 minutes together. People are still piecing together who they are at the moment.

Decent Leicester side with Vardy, Albrighton, Ndidi, Praet, Dewsbury-Hall, Castagne, Faes all playing.

A very surprising result, expected more resilience from Boston. Nice to start with strongest side bar Walker. However bigger tests to come. Also a very surprising 600 Lincoln fans travelling too.
