Pre Season friendlies

Played our first friendly today, at our neighbours Nantwich Town. Played a different 11 in each each half, and won 4-1 all young academy graduates scored Onyeka, Griffiths, Robbins and Lunstram. Next up is two games on Tuesday so a split squad travelling to Ashton United and Witton Albion.

Absolutely they will especially as the govt are talking about infection rates being 100,000 a day this summer.

Thank fuck the vaccinations are stopping serious illness on the most part.

Won 5-2 in our annual curtain-raiser at Havant & Waterlooville. We had nine trialists to boost our small squad, one of which - Gassan Ahadme (formally of Norwich) bagged a second half hattrick. Interesting to see if we pick him up.

We won 3-0 at Cinderford on Saturday. Was great actually getting to go to a game and having a few cloudy apples whilst watching.

Andy Williams got 2 and young prospect, Felix Miles, got the other.

Not holding my breath just yet - they've cancelled our friendlies very late on the last three seasons in a row.

Talking of cancellations, Palace have cancelled our friendly with them on Friday. We're not too happy.

We’ve cancelled 2 of our games with local teams although our team would be made up of u18’s, this is due to Covid isolation

At the moment it appears kids are getting it. Lots of players and coaches have kids. As you say it is unlikely to lead To too many serious cases, but it could affect a lot of sports and other activities.

I have, literally, no idea how we'll do this season. New manager (who I don't know much about), majority of new players, new style of football.

Anything could happen.......

First pre-season game tonight away at Kings Lynn. 4 x 30 minute sessions to give the whole travelling squad an hour. Ran out 3-1 winners with a brace from Scott Twine and one from Max Watters. Nice to see the newbies settling in well!

We seem to have drafted 8 or 9 U18's in for the first couple of friendlies so that shows how much work we still need to do on the squad.

We split our squad and played two games tonight. I went Witton Albion where we won 6-0 (Dale 2, Mandron 2, Long, Finney) a little side note Steve Mcnulty was playing centre back for Witton. We also beat Ashton Utd 5-1 (Robbins 3, Porter, Ainley)

Where's Tom Lowery? Not in the squad again today. Unless I've missed it, his name has not been mentioned once this pre season. Fans haven't asked after him, club acting like he doesn't exist. Am I missing something? He's our best midfielder (best player IMO), and the season kicks off in 3 weeks. Is he leaving? Injured? Who knows.

Another howler from Cam Dawson after Wildsmiths a couple of weeks ago. Desperate for a new keeper but on the plus side, Dominic Iorfa played his first game since December. Will be one of the best defenders in the league for when fit for me.

Beat wolves 1-0. Long with the goal. Strong team from Wolves in the first half especially with Raul Jimenez making his return.

I was really impressed with Long and Ramsay both settled in really well.
