We are playing Tavistock today. It is all academy and kids playing. Interestingly we have four keepers in the squad!

Drew 2-2 with Nottingham Forest. Sick of the sight of Brennan Johnson. Terrorised us last season with Lincoln and scored both of Forests goals today. Expect he will play a big part for them in the championship this year. We battled back well once again and scored two fantastic goals by Ainley and Adebisi. Kayne Ramsay really impressed again, he looks a he'll of a player, you can see why he's played games in the Premier league with Southampton.

Drew 0-0 with Leicester and beat them on penalties for the prestigious bass trophy.
I will not sleep tonight with excitement.
Joking aside we played well and more then matched them. Fitness coming along well which is what it’s all about.
Crowd was 4000.

We lost 3-1 to Bristol City last Saturday. their OS pointed out it was a youthful side they put out, but then so was ours (Lewington aside)… not sure what to read into it, but until Fisher returns then we’re possibly going to see a few calamitous moments as we try to play out. hopefully he’s back for our Carabao Cup trip to Bournemouth on Saturday (yep, we’re getting in ten days before everyone else),

Spurs on Wednesday and it’s looking like a crowd approaching 15,000 which is a great way to return to football. Dele’s return will be nice too.

We have the third of our championship teams on the bounce, with Bristol City visiting Home Park. It feels like a better pre-season with more meaningful opposition than in the past few years.

First time tonight in our new season tickets seats so be interested to see what the view is from them compared to our old ones.

We're currently 4-0 up at half-time against Hereford.

Ref sent off one of their players on 11 mins for being the last man, despite protests from Michael Duff asking for him to remain on the pitch. As a result, it's less than a glorified training session now.

Lost 2-1 at Oldham. More players having isolate due to getting "pinged". Jaaskelainen and Dale are the latest two.

Kirk scored our goal.

Jayden Reid played 10 mins on sat v Luton. Ruptured his knee ligaments. Talk about terrible luck. Our 2nd 11 made up of 4 first teamers. 1 young ish lad and 9 trialists lost 2-0 to Chelsea u23s

Goss was one of our top earners and wasn’t as good as Norburn & Vela who we already have as starting centre mids so Cotterill released him.

Passing and vision alone Goss is Championship standard. Unfortunately though, he doesn’t like to tackle and tends to go missing throughout games which is a shame as when he can be bothered he’s too good for this level.

Lost 2-1 at home to QPR in Harrison Dunk's testimonial, which was the least testimonial-like game ever, they absolutely tore him apart in the first half and he threw the ball straight to them for their first goal. Happy anniversary Harrison.

QPR gave us a proper lesson for the first 80 minutes, then we suddenly decided to play like the 1970 Brazil team for the last 10. Having seen us twice not sure about the formation Bonner is trying to play, think he needs to get Smith and Ironside on the pitch as a 2 up front but that would then leave us lacking in the middle when Hoolahan plays. Smith isn't the answer as a lone front man though, Ironside could definitely do it but would need one of the wide players to chip in with a few, or force Smith to play on the right which is kind of what Mullin ended up doing. Not overly convinced about the defence either, but I think we'll get someone in on loan before the end of August that may fill one of those spots.

We've also brought the pitch in 3 yards on either side to try and stop teams passing the ball through us. Don't think we're going to be particularly pretty to watch this season.

Northampton at home on Saturday will probably be the best test we've had against a side that are closer to our level of ability.

Lost 2-1 to alfreton with a team mixed of trialists, youth and fringe players, plus 3 first teamers. Played dreadful and should have got hammered in honesty. Shows we do not have strength in depth.

They only just stayed up last season, good chance they'll go down this time?
Second was a free kick too!

Got a good tonking last night 4-0 to the Blades and could have been more. They put out a very strong side, we had too many trialists on the pitch but that aside it didn’t look encouraging and I fear we are in for a long old season of struggle

A 3-1 defeat in the final pre-season game in front of 15K+ fans last night at Stadium MK against a fairly strong Spurs team - their scorers were Son, Dele and Lucas. It was good to see us to resolutely play 'Russball' throughout and nice to be rewarded with a neat strike from John Freeman who looks like the next breakthrough academy prospect. Spoilt a bit by turmoil at the turnstiles which delayed a lot of people getting seated until 20 minutes after kick-off. Why they introduce a new ticketing system with such a crowd beggars belief but it's something for the club to sort out urgently.

I am getting a football fix in tonight and heading up to the DW to watch Wigan take on Preston. Looking forward to it. Not been to the DW since 2011 when I went to watch Wigan vs Blackburn which was a super entertaining game which ended 4-3!

Beat Hull 2-1 last night and played well. Corry evans sitting deep with Luke O’Nien and Embleton will be as good a midfield as anyones in this league, yet to see Alex Pritchard due to covid and he may turn out to be a great signing in league one and mcgeady will be his usual self we may be ok, still need full backs and imo at least 6 new players but we will be in that top 6 again if we can play like we did last night especially in first half. Great to be back in the ground again, life getting bk to normal.
