Looks like we have a game lined up against Spurs first team on Saturday behind closed doors before we fly out to Portugal on Sunday.
Lost 7-1.
Son and Brennan Johnson getting five between them, presumably against a Michael Morrison trying to run off the beers, so solid start.

Rotherham followed up their 7 0 win against local team Parkgate last week with a tight 1 0 win over Cove Rangers at St Andrews.

As seems to be usual these days the team changed at HT but was reported as a good run out against a well coached team whose pre-season started 2 weeks earlier than ours.

We apparently missed loads of chances...................come back Tom Eaves !!!!!!???

We’re heading down to Cornwall for a ‘team bonding’ week, usually consisting of players surfing and doing beach runs.

We’re playing against the mighty Mousehole FC (pronounces Mowzul) tomorrow night! They’ve got quite a good setup down there and we tend to send a couple of our youngsters their way on loan each season.

Played our 1st game yesterday, won 5-1 at Hanley Town. 2 different 11's for each half. Nice too see a few youth lads involved.
Lee went off with an injury after 15 mins. Mullin, Lee, O'connor, Boyle, Fletcher and Brunt all out before we've started. Hopefully Lee just a precaution

Lost 1-0 to Oldham on Saturday. Missing quite a few first-teamers with 'niggles' namely Oloafe, Powell, Rydel, Mingi, Fevrier, Stretton but still fielded a fairly strong starting XI:

GK Corey Addai
RCB Kyle Knoyle
CB Sam Hughes
LCB Ethan Pye
RM Jack Diamond
LM Trialist A (Ben Williams apparently)
CM Lewis Bate
CM Trialist B (Jordan Rossiter)
CM Lewis Fiorini
CM Odin Bailey
STK Kyle Wootton

Conceded after 1 minute from a free kick and then played nice tiki-taka football in front of Oldham's defence for the rest of the half.

2nd half was a similar mixture of 1st teamers and youth / trialists

GK Ben Hinchliffe
RWB Jid Okeke (Yth)
RCB Trialist C (??)
CB Callum Connolly
LCB Ibbi Touray
LWB Joe Hillary (Yth)
CM Will Collar
CM Callum Camps
CM Cody Johnson
STK Che Gardner (Yth)
STK Trialist D (Max Thompson)

2nd half was a bit of a none event.....

Next up Derby County in Spain

Tomorrow it’s the annual Wellens squad split with one half of the squad going to St. Albans and the other going to Welling, leaving nerds like me having to pick which game to attend.

Welling is easier for me to get to after work so Welling it is for me.

One half of the squad drew 1-1 at Welling, the other beat St Albans 5-1 with Dan Agyei scoring 4.

We've also announced a "home" friendly against the Spurs U21s- to be played at Dagenham and Redbridge due to our ground currently having maintenance done on it and the pitch still being done up.

League 1 regulars will not be as aware but Mansfield like to have a continuous injury crisis and it looks like we’ll be missing a load of players at the start of the season already!

George Maris is out for a lengthy period after a behind close door game against Leicester, quite a few missing in our first ‘proper’ friendly last night against Retford. Maris will be a huge loss.

Beat Lewes (pronounced lou is) 0-2 at the wondefully named Dripping Pan ground.

Separate teams in each half. Baylin Johnson as a trialist in 1st half (I'm told). Ex of Bournemouth, looked him up and he was once loaned to Lecce in seria a in Italy. Released this summer.
4 trialists in second half...no clue.

Goals by Darcy and triallist b.

We're exactly the same. It's bizarre.

7 first teamers are currently injured, I think we're hoping majority of these will be there or thereabouts the start of the season but they'll be replaced by another 7 by then.

We can't afford to have these injuries again, it will really hamper our season.

Lost 0-5 to German second division side Paderborn, that means we are definitely going to get relegated this season lol

Not a great start but they are ahead of us in matches played and their pre season schedule plus we played 11 youngsters over 2 halves. onwards and upwards

Solihull Moors away tonight in the Arthur Cup, in memory of little Arthur Labinjo- Hughes

Demolished Dartford 6-1 and beat Turkish top tier side Goztepe 3-1 last week and looked pretty good, bar the clubs live stream looking like it was filmed on a 1995 camcorder.

Lost 2-0 to Millwall yesterday but we never beat them so that was a given. Game was behind closed doors with no stream or updates so no idea how we played.

Palace behind closed doors on Friday. (although being streamed).

Would be nice for Godden and Ahadme to get their first goals prior to the season beginning, even Danny Hylton has scored

This friendly you have, is all proceeds going towards family members or any charity?

We’re going downhill after winning there 9-0 last season!
It was only 8-0 and attendance was down 25% this season.
Looks like wheels are falling off.

We lost 3-0 to Leeds at Thorp Arch on Tuesday in a behind closed doors game that no-one seemed to know about until yesterday.

I'm not surprised the attendance was down if you played them on Tuesday night. Horrendous weather all day.

Skubala mentioned in Spain last week that we would.play a behind closed doors friendly on Tuesday, but gave no further information. No idea on our line up.

Think we have Oldham away next.

We've got about 5 out, either injured or just not being risked in friendlies.
Only Mitchell was crooked before pre season, begs the question how hard are they being worked already?

Sounds like it was more like a Leeds XI vs Lincoln XI with a few U18's on both sides.

Played Derby at a training camp in Spain, (took 500+ there if you don't mind some willy weaving) lost 1-0 to a soft header right at the death. Got Cameron Jerome on trial, didn't look great tbh. Otherwise played well without being threatening. As long as we got through it without another seven injuries I'm happy.

Thrashed Yeovil 3-1 last night. Mainly first team for first 60 minutes then brought on the kids, many of whom impressed. Three goals from teenagers - Cox, Ohakana and Wilson. Ohakana has real pace on the wing and we could be seeing a lot more of him this season.
