The annual Wellens squad split day has been announced, we will send two seperate teams on the same day to Welling and St. Albans on Tues 16th July.

Still no word yet on a home friendly.

Arsenal U21's will be our final game, but we're having some behind closed doors ones as well, which isn't unusual for us.

Earlier this year we had arranged for a pre season home friendly against Birmingham,but they got relegated so that's finished that one

I've never figured the hot weather training camps in our summer.

Ok for a break in December but I've always thought the adage was train how you play. In which case a trip to Tromso would be more helpful at this time of year.

Team bonding/piss up with the lads I suppose.

We’ve just announced a friendly with Brum at home. From memory I can’t ever remember us playing a friendly against opposition in the same league. Be interesting to see how far apart we are from the title favourites.

They are in denial about being in League One. Imagine if you play them first game..

I'm actually amazed that this friendly is still going ahead, as I mentioned earlier in the thread the game was agreed for this summer sometime earlier this year.
Still I suppose it gives West Mercia's finest a chance to sort out "arrangements" for the real thing

Last summer we played Charlton in a friendly in Spain - then the fixtures came out and we was playing them first game of the season, both clubs wanted to cancel but because everything had already been organised the game was played anyway and finished 1-1.

Either way, everyone was like WTF are we playing eahc other while in the same league?! Think it was more to do with both clubs going abroad, ending up in the same place and needing a game.

We've announced that on 20th July we will play a BCD game against a Premier League side, with details about where it will be held and who against to remain confidential until the game is completed

No home friendlies for us again, this year its due to various post season events on our pitch and the maintenance on it starting late.

Main games are Grimsby away, Sheffield United home and Woody's testimonial at home against his new employer Doncaster Rovers. Hope he gets a great turnout out, he was brilliant for us for 9 years.

Obviously the big guns will be rolled out at Deepdale, and the dregs given a run out in Horwich.
