I think with Clarke it's the fact we all know he's got bags of technical ability, but he flatters to deceive. How many goals and assists has he got so far? Other than a purple patch with us early on in his career he offers little in the final third, which when we used him as a striker most of the time will make people think he is crap. Plus he picks up injuries every season without fail and is usually very poor when he returns. Saying all that he got a fantastic reception in October as he is a player who always gave his all, still a lot of respect for him up here but we just struggle to understand why a team would pay good money for someone who contributes not a great deal when it matters and is injury prone. We are scoring far more this season without him as well, although don't look as neat and tidy.Clarke is decent, really like him. In fact our dip in form stared after his injury which I don't think is that much of a coincidence. We miss his energy and his link-up. No idea why you Bradford fans are so negative towards him, like him down here.
Can't say I've seen enough of Marshall to have an opinion. Don't think he's made that much of an impact but was injured for quite a while.
No doubt Marshall has the talent, he was lucky with us in that I can't really remember him getting any knocks or injuries last season. It must be just because of that why he hasn't taken off there yet, but if he gets a run of games he is quality. Although I think who's the manager plays apart, he was poor for Parkinson and I can imagine they weren't exactly mates. Where as McCall's biggest strength is man management and getting the most out of troubled players as he is doing with Paul Taylor. I can't imagine Robinson having the same influence on him tbh.
