Sutton is a home game for us
Oh okay, Salford then. And you can't really drop many more points if you want to get into the autos, with FGR still to play as well. Current top 3 are my 3 for promotion, with just FGR and Exeter swapping places.

we’ve won at sunderland and doncaster away in the fa cup but can’t beat a top half league 2 side away all season
I know, I am just saying the point that we dont need to fear Exeter as they are beatable like anyone else! as I am sure they wont fear us or you.

Devon Lad makes out its like going to the Etihad for a League Two Club!

Much harder than the Etihad. Liverpool wouldn't score 2 past us at SJP with Stubbsy at the back.

Well it seems after all my optimism, we aren't even in the top 3 anymore! The EFL must know something we don't....

I can well foresee our being overtaken by Exeter. Perhaps.

The worst part about it is everyone is going to have to admit I was right all along and deal with me gloating all over the summer until I fully migrate over to the L1 forum.

It might well happen with FGR's injury crisis. But of course FGR have points in the bag and far better GD over their West Country rivals.
Both clubs could gain 18 points max by season end. That would give Exeter 92 points and probably a decent GD.
If that be the case FGR would require 14 points [or 93 points total] to mathematically ensure title.
However should FGR secure wins over Barrow, Oldham & Harrogate [9 points] plus a win and draw over either Brizzle, Swindon or Mansfield [all three away] that might be enough.
FGR can take some comfort that they have won away matches against these three formidable opponents.
Tough going, but hey that's football.

I think the whole forum is literally begging, BEGGING, Exeter lose on Friday or one of their upcoming games. Or failing that, we beat them on the last day. Just to be able to stick two fingers up to this deluded clown. Anyone would think we're gearing up to play prime Real Madrid ffs. You feared us that much a few weeks ago that you sat behind the ball for 90 mins and played for a point. How delightfully negative.

Lol, feared you? Selective memory of that game. We had 6 shots on target, 2 off and 45% possession. And really shouldve won it. With our 3 main players out. There's no chance you'll beat us. Zero.

We had key injuries too. Don't try that card.

I'm going to absolutely tear you apart should you fail to win any of your upcoming games. Can't wait to hear your excuses this time around.

I recall Devon Lad being ended on this forum in 2020 by Ritchie Bennett we had no chance that day either.

Exeter are doing well but it’s league two, anyone can beat anyone else. Celebrate if the title or promotion is won otherwise your open to looking silly.

We’ve been without arguably our two best players for months in Gibbo and Conlon and lost our two main strikers for months in Wilson and Proctor who are two of the best at this level.

Not to mention we played Bristol Rovers second half and Newport with one actual attacker as all our strikers and wingers were injured.

Just got on with it…

People have been saying that since Feb, you'll need to join the queue. But alas, I'm right and you're wrong

In which case your recollection is as shoddy as your squad

Bless, I wish our striking situation was that good back along. Try having no strikers, all out, getting one in on loan, injured, get another, injured and then another one hahahahahah

Absolute chaos at mansfield today.

They decided to let everyone know at 7-30 last night that tickets for salford were going on sale which led to queues down the street for tickets, phones ringing off the hook and fans kicking off right left and centre as sadly we’re still pretty tinpot at all this stuff.

They’ve then panicked and realised as we might get a mind boggling 6,000 or so home fans to make it all ticket 2 days before the game leaving many unable to get down or unable to get in contact with the club to get them.

I mean on one hand it’s good we’re getting this level of interest but if we do somehow scramble to league 1 they need to review ticketing arrangements.

I think he’s probably my favourite Vale manager since John Rudge. When he took over that squad was a complete rabble and he managed to get a tune out of them to keep us up before thankfully getting rid of them all in the summer and bringing in his own players. The way he conducts himself and his professionalism has been light years from what we had before. Can just tell by the way the players and coaching staff have all come together while he’s been away to get these results we have done lately the spirit he has built in the club

I’ve been a rovers fan for about 15/16 years so my choices of managers aren’t great tbf. I doubt Clarke will ever get topped though. Brought the whole club together during one of if not the lowest time in our history.

I bloody love him. He seems like a great guy. Best we've had since Micky Adams.

Walsall fans are weird for not liking him. Probably says more about the state of their club rather than the man himself.
Smallsaw. Weird club that expected immediate success and have weird delusions that they’re a much bigger club than they are. That’s what I learned looking in from the outside of DCs time there.

I’m surprised you didn’t take him on with his record (bar Walsall). Hopefully he will be present on a match day before the end of the season, apparently the squad were all at the funeral in Southampton which just shows the unity to the team he has knitted together, it raised an eyebrow when he released all the out of contract players last summer but can’t fault what’s happened now.

Hopefully promotion is destined after the heartbreak he has suffered, certainly can see the squad and doing all they can for him.
Did the same here, released everyone and brought in a load of “conference players”. Bit of a worry at first but will soon learned to never question what he does no matter how baffling it seems at first. What I also like is if 5 minutes into a game and he’s realised he’s set it up wrong, he’ll change it.

How the fuck am I wrong? When have I denied Exeter would win all these games? I've never commented. I do, however, think you're setting yourself up for a big fall. You're not going to get lucky and keep scraping wins every week like you did at Newport and Carlisle. Eventually, you'll come unstuck. Whether that's enough to affect your season, is another thing, but don't get too excited just yet.

Sounds remarkably familiar!

The only thing Carol hasn’t managed to get on top of yet! Got the challenge of being a non local season ticket holder trying to get through to get an Exeter ticket tomorrow!

We've already ordered the bus, the title is quite literally confirmed.

Carlisle we absolutely dominated, their fans have said we're the best team they've seen all season. Just check their forum out. Newport was a bit of a scrappy win, but it was a pretty even game, away at a promotion rivals place so not really a bad day. Look, the title is ours, as I've said in Feb. You're not going to beat us at SJP, even if we've sown the title up by then and on the beach. You couldn't beat us if our lads had KFC and Subway the night before combined with 15 pints, before getting just 3 hours kip. Your squad just isn't anywhere near as our top 3 League One squad quality.

Having predicted the scores of the remaining fixtures, (not done this for years), and on the basis of being pessimistic for ourselves and optimistic in terms of the other teams, I think we will get another 3 points minimum, add our goal difference as an extra point I think we will have a virtual 83 points minimum. That leaves just the three sides immediately below us atm to consider in terms of promotion from our point of view. Clearly anyone from Sutton upwards can still achieve promotion.

For us I think we need another 5 points to be certain for promotion and 12 to be champions. Given our sketchy form no guarantees. It looks like Port Vale have the toughest fixtures and might expect the third spot to be between them and Mansfield. But both could just as easily not fair as well as expected, giving the teams below a realistic chance.

I wouldn't put a penny on any of it though. Although unlikely, I still consider we could still miss out. So feet on the ground.

Whils't I like DC and thought he did a remarkable job getting us back to our rightful position. In my opinion there are a few managers I consider to have done better. 1. Bert Tann 2. Don Megson 3. Gerry Francis to name three.

Ironically Gerry Francis managed us in our worst ever season
