Making goonerz cry
I get the feeling City are not that keen on signing him. He's got talent there for sure but not enough to be acting like a dick and demanding things from Liverpool.

Liverpool should accept 40mil and drive him to the Etihad with a nice ribbon bow stuck on his head.

Really not sure why City are falling over themselves to pay a stupid amount of money for a player who has proven himself to be a trouble causer and has had 1 decent season when playing with one of the top 5 players in the world. City wasting £50m on him is ludicrous. He's worth less than half that.

Surely forcing your way out of a club by causing trouble is going to put off potential buyers? He's gone public with the transfer request, should get his head down and get on with it. Offers will come then.

Just because he's a bit of a twat at 20—who isn't?—doesn't mean he's worth £25m. He's gone from slightly over-hypyed to people forgetting he's an elite u-21 player in Europe. I thought Liverpool should accept £40m, but £25m is a shit price to sell to a domestic rival.

If personality drives down price, I'd love to see what a (relative) grown man in Suarez would have fetched if he didn't have itchy teeth and a fondness for rolling in green grass.

50m in the bank is a bargain but the problem is that's still not enough money to convince a worldie to come to you if you arent in the champions league and don't have a manager with klout. Very tough situation for Liverpool.

Young or not, the way he has behaved with the club that gave him the platform/support on which to develop is nothing short of disgusting not to mention massively unprofessional. It should rightfully make pottential buyers wary, not just about whether he'd try pull the same shizz in a few years but is that the sort of cnut you want in your dressing room? Has won fuckal and already acting a prima donna.

How many times do we cry "prima donna" or "money hungry" before we accept reality? I don't disagree his behaviour is unprofessional, but in context as a 20 year old kid it's meh.

I get the prima donna thing from reading about how he wants to be competing for silverware, the sort of thing you hear off of the more established players who've performed at high levels for more than a season n a bit.

I'd get it if it were about moving back to London, who doesn't wanna be close to family and friends afterall but that doesn't seem to be the case, unless he was gambling for one of the Chelsea or Arsenal to be in for him.

Criticising him for targeting silverware despite being only 20 is such a backwards way of thinking. People were - and still are - getting on his back for being a 'money-grabber', although it patently is not the case. In what world do we actively lambast a young player for having ambition? He had the ambition and conviction of belief in his talent to leave QPR for Liverpool, where were those saying 'you'll just be sat on the bench' back then? All of a sudden he pursues a transfer from a club not at the top echelon to a club who are at that top echelon (and who want him) and he's 'spoilt' or he's a 'prima donna'.

He and his party have conducted themselves terribly throughout all of this, but it's just indicative of modern football, not the anomaly. If a player is made aware of interest from a club deemed better than the one they're currently at, they have every right to pursue a transfer. We know little of the permutations surrounding him reportedly asking not to go on tour, and if the claims about him being the victim of racist abuse via his phone number having been leaked, then it's perfectly understandable. Football fans can take it ridiculously far sometimes, and for a 20-year-old kid that will be massively overwhelming.

I'm more interested in why Sterling is, allegedly, adamant he doesn't want to play for Rodgers. Any Liverpool fans a bit more clued up on this?

Sneaky way of saying he wants out of the club without actually saying it's the club that he wishes to part ways with, but the manager. "I love Liverpool me, best club ever, ynwa - but I can't work with Rodgers, sorry".

True, but I'm still interested to hear what his reasoning is, bullshit or not.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
And The Mirror (I know) are reporting that Liverpool fans also turned up at his house last night.

Same stuff United's Men in Black had when they rolled up to Rooney Acres, I suspect.

Berahino has given Aidy Ward the boot according to The Mail. I wonder how much that has to do with this and how much it is at failing to find Saido a new club.

Probably 'why are you doing all that for him and I'm getting the work experience kid'

I'd be surprised. I don't get a sense of devastation of him leaving, like there was when Gerrard was potentially going to move. If they get upwards of 40million they've got a good deal, for a good player but not one that the team revolves around and certainly not a fan favourite even before all this saga. Then again there are some bellends that support Liverpool.

More Liverpool fans seem to want him to leave than stay, and it's not even close. He's lost the PR battle handsomely (probably didn't particularly want to win it, he just wanted out).

He's missed training again.

If City don't sign him, what happens to Sterling?

Pulling a sickie for one day always looks suspicious. He's gotta make the decision whether to go for 3 in a row tomorrow or not.

Stockport County.
City aren't kidding anyone. They're desperate for Sterling. They need home grown players, and he is a talented one at that. They'll pay up.
