Slowly but surely we are quietly sneaking up the table, 6 unbeaten and 2 defeats in 14 league games, with points against Shrewsbury, Blackburn and Rotherham included in that run. Couple of new signings in this month and we should be ok, which is a crazy turnaround considering how bleak things looked a couple months ago.

Its a must win for us really. Out next two home games are you and MK, our next two away are Bradford (who we always lose to) and Blackburn (who i expect us to lose to). Need 6 points from those two home games otherwise the gap between us and safety will be getting too big. Two players in before Saturday hopefully, wingers or strikers.
Good news for you it's confirmed Brown will still be in charge for Saturday but that kinda sounds to me as it's a must win game for him. The way he keeps banging on about getting the sack after every defeat, I think he actually wants to be sacked. Quite funny really after the Shrewsbury defeat 30th Dec he goes 'We can still make play offs' after Wimbledon defeat 1st Jan he says 'I fear the sack'. He's lost his head.

What's gone on at Milton Keynes? They were midtable about a month ago and now they're hovering two points above the relegation zones in nineteenth.

Can’t see Bury staying up.
Ripley is too good for this league and will save you lots of goals- he certainly saved two goals today that few other keepers at our level would had. Hanson is a clever striker and will score you goals once fit. You were unlucky with the injury to Ismail, but overall your midfield was bang average and as a unit your defence was not coherent.

What was your player thinking when he went through our keeper. His sending off knocked the stuffing out of you. Personally I would tell him to make his own way home.

We are now in the dizzy heights of twelth.

Our 17th defeat of the season and 5th 3-0 of the season too. Also our 6th consecutive defeat and 20th consecutive away game without a win.

We also broke a new club record today with failing to score in 7 consecutive league games.

Zeli went off on a stretcher and we remain 11 points adrift with 20 games to play.

26 games 17 points.

At least Ismail came back walking later, so maybe it is not too bad, though it looked nasty - colliding with the post. As an observation he was not as impactful as last week, and obviously in part this was how we played him, but also you have him in a more traditional midfield role, whereas for Walsall he was an out an out winger. Plus he got much better service last week.

In the first half you were not too bad, certainly not the worse side I have seen this year, but in the second half you probably were. We were all impressed by Hanson, he is a real handful and will score you goals. Of his type of forward he is the best I have seen at Home Park this year, all on the football special bus were impressed by him. Without Ripley it would have been 6-0.

I think you should start planning for league 2.

Absolute rubbish first half from two rubbish teams. Second half was a bit better, chances at both ends, we scored another two Sarfend didn't. Did we deserve it? Probably or probably not. Bloody cold.

Yeah that was a game involving two dreadful teams I thought you did deserve it though as your rubbish team was less rubbish than our rubbish team in the second half

I've always wanted him at Gills in the last few years when the managers job was available, think he'll do well. Should arrest the slide at the very least!

Damn, I quite like Phil Brown being charge of you lot.
Credit to him he got us promoted albeit with Paul Sturrock's squad and since he has been incharge of transfers we have got progressively worse but thanks for the promotion Phil but now we are completely stale, time for change.

Nah, Roland will be gone soon to be followed by Robinson leaving the path clear for Powell to come home.

Not feeling great about this now. With the 2 week break, I thought maybe we could add something to the team and try escape the relegation threat and push towards mid table.

So far, we've managed to replace our best player with a worse version.

Aren't clubs supposed to add/strengthen in January?

3 wins on the spin, up to 18th. Starting to look like a good side, felt we've always had the spine of a good side but we've addressed our issues with a great transfer window and it's starting to click. Blackburn away and then Rochdale, Gills and Wimbledon in our next 3. 7 points from that and we should be okay.

But Christ, MK are in trouble. They need to sack Neilson or they'll keep sliding imo.

We are improving steadily and on current form should have enough. Our defence is fine around play-off level we always just needed to add goals. Hope this continues

Well, we won.

A mere 12 points from safety now.

30 from 18 required.

Well except for Blackpool, Oldham, Milton Keynes, and Southend. Two of the four in that list are probably going down this season along with Bury.

There's no escape for Bury despite their win today, MK can fuck off though

We're very much in this with how poor we've been for quite a while.

True, unless we can strike a deal with the FL to play Oxford every week.

We are utterly dire. We shouldn't be, we have the players to be mid table or better. I'd be stunned if Winkelman sacks Neilson though.

“We have the players to be mid table” - is a very dangerous squad to have.

Players to be mid table, oh dear if we’re 5th Just how shit must it be to watch a team capable of such highs? Watching us atm is enough to cure insomnia, the daft thing is last week McCall said if you’d have offered him to be above MK Dons and Southend at this stage he’d have bitten your hand off with their magnificent teams. He really does himself no favours at times.
