I get Chesterfield finishing bottom on 38 points with Barnet following them down on 41.

Crewe 42 points just survive with Grimsby 43 FGR 44 and Vale and Yeovil on 45

Changes in management are never ideal during the season, but there must be some correlation between higher numbers of managers a club has in a defined period and your performance on the pitch (presumably a negative one - unless you're Watford)
I'm sure there is but high manager turnover is as much a symptom as it is a cause of underperformance. I think a lot of is it because sacking the manager is the only real tool available to a beleaguered owner. I'm sure there's a correlation between performance and number of players used per season, we used over 50 in the season we were relegated which seems par for the course for relegation candidates.
Believe it or not, I think last season was the first time since 2006/07 that we had one manager for a full season, which is crazy really.

That resulted in 10 years without a top half finish, a relegation, a near relegation, relegation fights and some boring mid-table finishes. Then a squad full of players signed by 3 or 4 managers who had different ideas and a bloated squad. No consistency there at all.

Compared to last season where we were working with a small squad and were really consistent in team selections.

After John Schofield left in October 2007, we had Peter Jackson, Chris Sutton, Steve Tilson, David Holdsworth, Gary Simpson, Chris Moyses and then the Cowleys.

EDIT - Tell a lie, Chris Moyses was with us for the full 2015/16, although he announced he was standing down at the end of the season around March time.

Cheers for the link dedwardp. The problem I have with this predictor is that it doesn't show the remaining fixtures, unlike the one on the Fishy, and obvs this makes a massive difference when it comes down to predicting the direct clashes. For instance I predicted FGR to beat Grimsby on the final day, not knowing that Rovers were already safe.

Anyway, here's what I got -

17. Morecambe (49)
18. FGR (47)
19. Crewe (44)
20. Port Vale (44)
21. Yeovil (43)
22. Barnet (41)
---------------------------
23. Grimsby (40)
24. Chesterfield (37)

We beat you 4-1 at CG and its only worth 4 points?

Chesterfield must've played like Barcelona.
A few crap teams have beaten us at the CG this season - Chesterfield actually looked impressive instead of us just being shite.

Fair enough! I quite liked it because I normally can't be bothered putting in all the scores so just clicking home win/away win was plenty for my simple mind :bg:

We are doing our best to ensure we are here until the bitter end.

Unlike most Vale fans I am Genuinely concerned that we will still be in the fight on the last day.

I am not even bothering to use the various systems on various websites, my blood pressure is already too high, last thing I need is a computer to tell me we are down, as well as everybody else!

It's looking likely that it will be two from the bottom five.

What makes it a particularly sorry state of affairs (as if getting relegated from the League wasn't bad enough in itself) is that whoever gets relegated will either be suffering back-to-back relegations (a rare thing) or will break the record for shortest time spent in League 2 after promotion from the Conference (the least any team has spent there without going bust is four years - Barnet are only in their third season, Grimsby second, and Forest Green only went up last season).

Positive is if we play as we did tonight we will surely pick up points. We had 15 chances against Exeter and Pope to come back I guess.

Chesterfield at Vale Park will be massive.

FGR will be fine, at least they've got goals in them and that'll see them pick up enough point IMO.

No-one's ever been relegated in their first season after promotion either.

You look at the sides down there and it's a weird one really.

Barnet have Akinde, who I know missed a decent spell of this season.
Chesterfield have Dennis who has 17 goals.
FGR have Doige.
Vale have Pope.

Usually the bottom sides just don't seem to have anyone half decent up front but they aren't exactly bad strikers for the division.

Popes been playing with a hernia issue so had an op so essentially been Pope on one leg! Been out three weeks now, praying he is back for Easter.

And as I said above, no one's been relegated after less than four seasons but there's always a first time for everything.

Not that I see FGR dropping either, being a newcomer to the Football League is such a big milestone in their history that they'll be extra determined not to throw it away.

15 chances but no goals. You can have 300 chances and no goals, or one chance and one goal. We all know which gets points on the board.
