Point being we start creating that many chances against poorer sides we will be scoring.

All those convinced Forest Green won't drop, they were the worst side to come to our place since Chesterfield in September and so they well and truly are in the thick of this scrap. I do think their home form might just keep them up though, and add to the fact Vale and Grimsby can't win a game to save their lives and Chesterfield and Barnet look in dire straits I'm thinking they'll be the bottom four and two of those will go.

That win tonight has filled me with a little more confidence of survival. Good run of fixtures - Newport, Barnet and Vale now. Beat Barnet and either Newport or Vale and I can't see Barnet leapfrogging us on 46 points. Chesterfield have the games in hand to go on a run but they've got a hard end to the season.

We haven't lost to one of our relegation rivals at home this season and we have Vale, Morecambe and Cheltenham to finish off our season at home. I could see us winning all three of those home games which would be more than enough to keep us up bar sorcery from the bottom two. Newport, Barnet and Crawley away are all winnable away games and anything we get from Mansfield or Luton is a bonus. So our run in appears quite favourable compared to the rest of the teams in the dogfight, though not as favourable as Barnet's.

Tomorrow will be interesting with the Smurf meeting. I can’t see how it can go well... it’s funny it was losing to Exeter in the cup that started all this with him... so now he has to shoulder the blame as to why after that he dismantled a decent enough league one side and we now sit 20 plus points behind them after losing last night! That’s the downfall he has created for this football club all over a cup defeat to a side a league below. It really is completely crackers!

I think we will survive but it’s going to be stressful. I expect us to pick up a few points still to scrape over the line. What does the summer hold though? Will Aspin be here and will he get the chance to build a squad that can compete.

Have to be honest I never thought I’d see us in this mess. Can’t overly blame investment either... Chesterfield aside our budget will still be better than most of those around us in the bottom half.

The good thing about last night was that our goal difference didn't take too much of a hit. Had Crewe ended up winning by 5 or 6, which could easily have happened, then we would have lost our advantage over Grimsby and Chesterfield on that front. -22 at this stage is fairly respectable I would say, and could end up being an extra point.

Yeah im pretty sure no side has gone up into league 2 and straight back down and numbers of sides bounceing straight back into league 2 are in single figures. Nearest to a yo yo team is barnet. I think 3 up 3 down which i feel is long overdue would make us see more yo yo sides. I would love chesterfield to stay up but the fact they aint capatilising on the poor sides above them shows how little fight they have. Based on atmosphere around the club combined with available players and player but especially manager ability to deal with a relegation dog fight, my prediction of results leaves two massive clubs with terrible ownership issues floundering around the National League next season. I could only see 3 draws for the Mariners at best, so a fluke win anywhere (helped by a sending off??) could make all the difference.

Morecambe will be around as long as Jim is in the dug-out but not much longer unless they find a very wise owner.

Nope! The same season in the League Cup we beat the Championship Title winners Burnley and took WBA to penalties... you win some you lose some and Exeter away was never going to be easy for a League One club with a poor away record.

We must get a result at home to Chesterfield... we will be doomed if not.

In terms of apathy... put it this way, i was chuffed when Barnet Away got P-P so it didnt ruin my weekend!

We are down at the bottom because we only produce performances like that once every few weeks. Plus, you guys play a style that we enjoy playing against: ours. We pass is slowly around, often struggle for end product and have issues in defence. But when we play a team that try to out football us, we usually do ok. As soon as they turn it into a physical contest we struggle and weirdly, League Two is all about that. Hence why we are down near the bottom.

Chesterfield at home is massive... win that would be huge, lose it and they could close right in on us. Crewe away is winnable, we've sold out virtually again so hopefully the lads will rise to the crowd and general performances away have improved lately.

That weekend is crucial... after that

the last 5 games, 3 home:

Crawley
Carlisle
Lincoln

All winnable on our day although Lincoln could be tough if they are still in the race.

2 away:

Mansfield
Cambridge

Mansfield Away will be very tough, Cambridge will be a dead rubber for them so hopefully if needed we can get a result there.

If we can get 4 points from Easter we will be ok... IF.

It's our 4 home fixtures that are going to decide whether we stay up or not, as I can't really see us getting anything in our away games that are left at Coventry, Wycombe and Swindon although it could still come down to the last day and I don't really fancy going to FGR needing something. We have 3 winable (although I'm not really sure what winable means at the minute) home games v Stevenage and then on consecutive Saturdays, Chesterfield and Barnet. We really do need to be winning those 2 as our last home game is Notts County and I can't really see us taking much from that.

No matter how good or bad a manager Michael Jolley is, the fact is that you can't polish a turd, so he really does need to be some sort of miracle worker to get this squad playing anything like they were earlier in the season. We actually won away at Accy Stanley in September and of the team that night only 1 players has left, so that gives me a little crumb of confidence that these players can perform. A few weeks after that we were only goal difference off the play-offs!

I'm just so bloody angry that we haven't learnt the lessons of the last time we were relegated and in similar fashion to what Port Vale fan Darren Gregory reckons, we seem to be sleepwalking to the drop, although I can't see BOTH us and Port Vale going down.

The thing is I'm a bit worried that IF we go down again, we might never come back.

So apparently from what he has said the club need to find about £820k between May and July and the first installment of the Hugill money almost gone already. In all honesty am at the point now the best thing to do is just shut the club down completely. This is beyond the joke.

As for the Chesterfield game I doubt there will be more than a handful there to see it so I wouldn't worry about afterwards.

It depends how accurate it is... the CEO said we were self sufficient in January... basically the Hugill first instalment covers up to April... yet we will somehow lose the annual wage budget of the league leaders Accrington in three months when the club isn’t even playing!

Heading into the most critical six weeks of our 140 year history it’s all fairly negative... essentially he will cover it as it’s a charity and he feels obliged too until it’s sold... which he wants crazy money for!

Gunning wasn’t kept on as he would have been second highest paid player at club so would have caused mutiny with the others... really?!

A football club needs a good owner. Our main driver of the last ten years of success is sound stable owner who doesn’t blurt off in the media..instead just quietly goes about his business running a well run football club.
Perhaps you need to go backwards to go forwards. Shows how far u have fallen since we lost out to you on the promotion season - we have raised our profile and got to the championship and you are staring the conference in the face. And it’s all down to a leadership.
