Best case scenario (being selfish)
Yourselves, Muff and AFC stay up, with Scunny and Sarfend joining Warsaw and Bratfud in L2

S’all happening. Think Accy win makes them safe. Would say Walsall are probably down meaning it’s us, Scunny, Plymouth and Wimbledon for the other 2 spots. Scunny have a great chance on Saturday for a win at home to Bradford if they can’t win that they’re gone. Wimbledon have got Bradford last game of the season they’ll fancy their chances of getting three points there. I’m a massive Pompey/Barnsley fan for remainder of the season, ruin Sunderland’s chances of autos before last game of the season and with any luck they’ll rest players. Heart says we won’t go down my head says I dunno the Scunny Plymouth game will be massive. It’s very exciting who wants to be safe and mid-table anyway zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

I really have no clue as to where we'll finish. Yes, we've only lost 2 in the last 12 matches but we've drawn the last 5. Draw the last 2 and that's us down - probably.

It's the hope that kills you.

I think think it’s from us down who are still in it.

I don’t expect us to get a point in our last 2 games (Fleetwood away & Barnsley home) so now we are relying on other teams to cock up.

I fancy Wimbledon to win their last 2 games

Think a point should be enough for you (hopefully). Always enjoy my trips to the Mem, apart from it being relatively close.

You’re absolutely fine.

There’s no way you’re going to be overhauled by that many teams. Plymouth face Scunthorpe so impossible that they both can for a start. Same for Wycombe and Wimbledon.

Southend won’t beat Sunderland.

Relax mucka.

Bobbin is right. 50 points and a superior goal difference has the Gas sitting pretty.

If you have a mistake free game you will also pick up something at Fleetwood, particularly if Clarke Harris puts his shooting boots back on. They don't have a lot to play for and even when they did they only scored a streaky equaliser against us up there in the final minute.

Last time we got relegated (to the conference) there were something like 27 scenarios that could happen, only 1 where we can get relegated. Of course that 1 happened so since then I try not to take anything for granted.

I think the real nerves will kick in on Saturday:

Accy Vs Plymouth (could go any way)
Wimbledon Vs Wycombe (home win)
Fleetwood vs Rovers (home win)
Rochdale Vs Southend (could go any way)
Scunthorpe Vs Bradford (home win)
Walsall Vs Peterborough (away win)
Coventry Vs Shrewsbury (home win)

We could see ourselves going into the final game 1/2 points ahead which is nervy to say the least

You will be pleased to know Colin Daniel will have no influence over you this time as we play Luton and posh.
That and he is Shite so won't get picked.

Scunthorpe v Bradford
Wimbledon v Wycombe
Accrington v Plymouth
Rochdale v Southend

There is a realistic chance they could all win which would leave the table looking something like this going into the final day:

50 - Rovers
50 - Wycombe
50 - Southend
50 - Plymouth
---------------
49 - Wimbledon
49 - Scunthorpe
43 - Walsall
37 - Bradford

The final day fixtures are:

Plymouth v Scunthorpe
Bradford v Wimbledon
Southend v Sunderland
Wycombe v Fleetwood
Rovers Vs Barnsley

can't believe we cocked up guaranteed safety on Easter Monday - 2-1 up at home against 10 man Oxford and we somehow manage to lose the game, meaning we are still in the relegation mix with a tough game away to Coventry and a local(ish) derby against Walsall (who look down already but who we have a terrible record against)

I'm hoping we just about have enough to stay up but have put a few quid on relegation at 150-1 to soften the blow if the unlikely happens. To think this time last season we were sitting in third and preparing for the play-offs.....

The more I look at the table and the fixtures the more I feel like we are doomed.

Having to go into the last game vs scunny needing a win will be a horror scenario and things could turn very sour if that goes wrong.

You’ve won 13 games all season and Sunderland have only lost 3.

It’s not hard to work out to be fair.
Stranger things have happened as said a few posts earlier if the chance of automatic promotion is already lost for them they might even rest players to be fresh and ready to knock your lot out of the play-offs.

You don't need to worry about beating us.

There hasn't been fight in this team for a while now, they've given up completely. I will be incredibly surprised if we win on Saturday and take it to the last day.

You won on Monday so you’re a bit giddy, that’s fair enough but I would say it’s very fair to assume that after 44 games, a side that have won only 29% of their games this season aren’t going to beat a side that have lost less than 7% of theirs.

Sunderland may draw a lot of games but are clearly extremely difficult to beat.

As for resting players. I doubt it, there is a huge incentive for finishing 3rd this year. Everyone will want to play the side finishing 6th.

Those who assume make an ass of u and me.

They lose to Pompey this weekend and Barnsley win even third may be out of touch...

I’ll be more than happy to be wrong, and actually hope I am.

As it stands, they’re probably the side I would prefer to face in the play-offs and if they drop points against Pompey and yourselves, gives us a chance to pinch 4th and get the second leg at home.

I also want you to stay up.

So many different scenarios but whichever way I slice the results, Walsall are down and Scunthorpe very likely to join them. Think it's between us, Plymouth and Southend who has the bottle to avoid that last place. End of the season and anything can happen so no idea how it will actually pan out but all three of us need at least one win to avoid the drop.

That would be some bottle job if Plymouth went down after being 12th in mid-March.

Scunthorpe have been a strange case - actually had a decent start, beating Charlton from behind in a 5-3 thriller, and I thought they'd be promotion candidates again, then had an atrocious run, rallied to climb from deep in the relegation zone to supposed mid-table safety, but then like Plymouth have lost form at the worst possible time.

Would be an amazing achievement if Wimbledon were to survive after where they were in February (and that was after they knocked West Ham out of the Cup). I hate to say it, but it looks like a Watford old boy may end up failing at two clubs in the same season...

Surprised everyone discounting that Shrewsbury could go down. If we lose at Coventry and home to Walsall I don’t think 50 points will be enough.......
