Seems quite a risky move for Cox, given any transition to full-time for Guiseley won't happen for this season. It's harder to envisage Guiseley in the FL than some others with wealthy backers, but presumably that's the aim?

Forest green were constantly avoiding relegation and they got to fl so who knows but could imagine guiesleus ground been hard to expand due to backing onto cricket club

Guisly are a NPL club at best but have been promoted beyond their independent means thanks to, you've guessed it, directors and chairman pouring in huge amounts of their own cash. They already pay full time wages to their part time squad, according to our own chairman, the other week. So yes they are indeed just another set of bankrolled bastards we can add to the list. Like all the other clubs of their kind they are in this league under false pretences and I will never afford them the time of day or a shred of my respect. I commend our brother Great & Historic Football League clubs to do likewise. So looking forward to the shit hitting the fan there one day and I for one will be laughing my rocks off as they slither down the plug hole. :£:£:£
Guiesley have more history than halifax thougth

I think you can definitely add Jon McCarthy to the list of sacked managers some at time within the next few hours.

I would have sacked him at half time at Solihull, but our useless board need time to convene.

He got absolute dogs abuse tonight, nasty atmosphere during the second half.

Can't go on.

Emergency Board Meeting tonight. There is only one decision they can make, then we've got 38 games to try and keep our National League status. I hope the board are more circumspect with the next contract they hand out.

Is Robbie Fowler still applying for every manager job going?

Dragged on far longer than it should have but got there in the end. Last night felt like the end with constant protests in the second half.

No idea who I want but it's got to a point where it feels that anybody could genuinely give a better fist of it.

Just the latest Tin Pot circus to talk up this shit- who remembers Alfreton and their cunning plan to sneak into the FL when nobody was looking- never got off the ground before they crumpled like a blancmange pudding. Who remembers Histon nailing their statement "We would like to be a Football League Club, if that's ok with everybody else" to their website, shortly before collapsing like a house made out of matchsticks? The best plans Guisly can make is to prepare for a soft landing on their return to the Northern Premier League. :fl:

Who will be the new boss at Chester ? Step forward Mr Brabin - He will certainly apply. Maybe Stephen Burr will return.Mark Wright or perhaps Stephen Vaughan Jnr may want to fulfill his destiny and manage the club he once captained!!!!

We simply must get this appointment right because if we go down the plug hole we'll not get back.

Yeah he applies for everything. Gary Brabin will have applied already.

I've seen him 'linked' with everything from the Newcastle job to the Southport job in the past six months.

Is he still alive? I remember him managing the old Chester about 25 years ago.
Yes he has had a lengthy spell as caretaker at Swansea before leaving last season and is currently part of the coaching staff at Chesterfield.

Who? Think you're getting confused with Alan Curtis, who like Barrow is also 84 years old.

Yep, Barrow was at Wigan not Swansea and currently on the backroom staff at Chesterfield.

Since he took us back up to what is now League 1 he’s been back in charge again in our first season in this league in 2000/01 and did well, came back again as assistant in 2005. He’d be the popular choice as he is a club legend and all that, does have a knack of making it work here but whether it would again after so long is obviously questionable.
