Bit of an over reaction by Gerrard saying he will consider his future?

All teams have a bad spell - does he expect or demand too much?

Clearly has high standards!
My understanding is that he didn't say he would consider his future but he had a lot of thinking to do over the 24-48 hours. I may wrong but I don't believe he used those words SH. Of course the media desperate for 'headlines' just love to create a maelstrom for their own selfish reasons. I don't believe he expects or demands TOO much but what he does expect and demand is his players doing what they can and what he knows they are capable of (see prior to the idiotic 'winter break' and this is where they (players) have fallen down too often since returning from Dubai.

For the record the vast majority of bears are behind the gaffer!

As for the Hearts cup tie....had to listen on radio and it didn't make for good hearing. Ref Steven McLean had a fucking howler of a game but I'm not using that as any excuse as the better team won....again!

Well he is staying but defeat tonight would have not helped!

The fans probably share the same frustration as Gerrard does.

I went to the last Celtic/Hamilton game. The one in which Celtic got an injury time winner from Broonie. Hamilton were very good that night and Celtic were very fortunate to take all three points.

Thought the outstanding performance at braga would be the turning point to a good run again, a terrible showing at hearts followed by last night.

Well what can I say.....like Blademan I thought the performance in Braga was a turning point but what a kick in the baws that was. Hamilton....at fucking Ibrox ? Gie me peace. Okay, they teams come to the Brox to frustrate, we all know that, but Gers have to overcome it but come on, to lose against Hamilton at Ibrox is absolutely shocking. We have the players (they showed what they are capable of prior to the break so the talent is there but for whatever reason it is on the back burner right at the back of the oven at the moment) but what is glaring obvious we don't have at the moment the cohesion, the togetherness, the willing to fight for that fucking badge on the shirt (Big Jock Wallace will be turning in his grave God rest his soul). I watched the Ross County game yesterday and although a win is a win there was absolutely nothing for me to suggest that a corner has been turned.....midfield (the engine) was too flat.....Morelos is on a downward spiral....too many players going missing blah blah blah! Just my opinion but there is something going on, I can't give an answer as to what, but my gut feeling is that something within that squad is out of sorts atm. I've read elsewhere that there is a problem with Morelos' attitude and that is including to the management team. Don't know if anyone noticed yesterday but when Morelos was taken off Steven Gerrard did not move out of his seat to say good lad, well done etc but remained firmly in his seat....poignant or what??? Anyway, performances will have to be upped for the next 3 games. I wait in anticipation but most certainly without a noose round my neck!

Why have Dundee not voted?

I am surprised its so close really.

Now they will be under pressure either way and of course their big rivals are set to be promoted from the Championship too!

SH....the following highlighted are words by me from elsewhere....

1) So if that was actually endorsed and fully agreed (reconstruction)....Hearts who look odds on to be relegated would stay up with two clubs coming up from the championship. I'm not saying Hearts would be relegated as there are still games to play and they may have been able to stay up but then again they may not have. Plus....you have Partick and Stranraer who are to be relegated ? Absolute scandalous considering they both could stay in their respective divisions....moreso Partick.

2) Okay....Dundee have now actually voted 'YES', their initial 'NO' vote mysteriously not being received/lost last week. The whole scenario fucking stinks! Raith Rovers are champions of League one despite Falkirk only being ONE point behind them...yep ONE point....despite there being EIGHT games to be be played for each club.....AND Partick to be relegated from the Championship despite being only 2 points behind QOTS with 9 games (for Partick) remaining ? I will maintain continually that titles/relegation cannot be decided if there are enough games to be played that could potentially anlter the final scenario! This absolutely stinks!!!

Have a read at this link and have your eyes opened mate...

https://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/...ed-from-incompetence-to-scandal-39140041.html

The Dundee vote that was....ahem, lost, misplaced, lost in transmission, ignored (pick whichever one you feel is most apt)

I definitely think it was too hasty to finish in such a way.

Either null or void it or wait albeit might be a whille to finish the season.

Going well for the Teddy Bears atm...good result against Celtic away last Saturday...tbh Celtic were hardly in the game and the result was well deserved...and following that a fantastic win in Belgium against Standard Liege where we won 0-2 with a fantastic goal from Kemar Roofe for the 2nd. Not counting chickens but Gerrard has a fine squad in place and we're in the right place!

And a nice wee bonus last Sunday when the Gers had a comfortable 2-0 win against Livingston knowing that earlier in the day Celtic had dropped 2 points at Pittodrie. Six points in front with Celtic having a game in hand.

Been some fine results since my last look in here.....beat Lech poznan at Ibrox, drew 3-3 away to Benfica...a result which felt like a defeat tbh after leading 1-3 until giving away 2 very late goals and a thrashing of Hamilton last Sunday 8-0 which gives us a 9 point lead in the league albeit Celtic have two games in hand. An excellent squad has been assembled by Steven Gerrard and he has the team playing excellent football. Onwards and upwards.

I don't personally care whether Celtic win 10 in a row or not but from the outside this looks crazy.

My Scottish team, Alloa Athletic (I follow them because they are the Wasps and Barnet are the Bees), need to up their game if they’re going to make it a 4th season in the Championship. They’re definitely looking a bit light up front. What rankles is that the likes of Zanatta and O’Hara are on the bench at other Championship clubs.

This has been on the cards for over 12 months now. I went to a fair few Celtic games last season and it was evident then that it wasn't working. I even think that Rangers might have grabbed it last season if Covid hadn't intervened. Celtic's League Cup win was an example. Rangers completely outclassed Celtic , but the hoops won with a breakaway goal. Earlier Morelos missed a penalty which should have won it for the Gers. Celtics only hope now is to get someone else in and start the rebuilding process. Rangers were also dropping points against the also-rans, but that problem has been fixed.

Been unable to access the site for about a fortnight....just side the site could not be reached....hence my lack of posts.

Anyway Rangers have been performing well in League, League Cup & Europa League..... a 2-2 draw at the Brox against Benfica, a home win against Liege & we play over in Poland tomorrow. Beat Aberdeen 4-0 then Falkirk away in the League cup 0-4 on the same day Celtic lost at home 0-2 to Ross County and last Sunday a 0-4 victory in Dingwall against Ross County, while later in the day Celtic drew 1-1 at home against St Johnstone. Since Steven Gerrard came to Ibrox I've seen the playing side improve continually and he has a smooth running machine atm and long may it continue. He has assembled an excellent squad and even when he makes changes there are no weaknesses. I'm certainly not taking anything for granted but we are in a good position atm.

Another excellent performance in Poland last night despite several changes to the starting eleven...a 0-2 victory (goals by Itten & Hagi) means we topped the group. The goal by Itten was a belter and he is a fine addition to the squad. Gerrard really has his squad up to speed and as I've alluded to previously the way they are playing really pleases me personally. Looking good atm....long may it remain so.

A tough game up at Tannadice on Sunday, but Rangers were always in control....resulting in a 1-2 victory and another 3 points on the board. The opener was a tremendous freekick from James Taverneir from around 30 yards. Utd equalised but Rangers regained the lead thanks to a fine header from Goldson. Both these guys are having a great season and Tav must be a contender for player of the year. A League cup quarter final away to St Mirren tomorrow then at home to Motherwell at the weekend.

Even if they lose great effort by Hearts but what has gone wrong with Celtic’s defence ?

Must be frustrating for Hearts that they fought back to draw after extra time and then produced two very lazy penalties in the shootout.

Tremendous effort by the Jam Tarts yesterday and if it wasn't for two very poor penalties they would have won it but thems the breaks. Thoroughly enjoyed the game compared to the shite thrown up by Kilmarnock and Aberdeen earlier in the day...truly awful game.

Anyway on to Rangers. To say I was surprised by the defeat at St Mirren on Wednesday would be a great understatement but you can't win every game and as much as I would have loved to see them progress with the possibility of getting to the final and winning a piece of silverware, I'd rather it was then than in league. Saturday at home to Motherwell didn't see us get off to a great start, losing a goal within 7 minutes and thereafter it was trying to break through two banks of five players....Motherwell set up....five, five, zero. Honestly I've seen some defensive tactics against us at Ibrox, and to an extent I can understand that, but that on Saturday was really appalling by Motherwell and as usual was accompanied by the time wasting at every opportunity...so frustrating. Eventually 2nd half Rangers got the breakthrough thanks to Kemar Roofe and then Itten buried a header to put us in front.....WOW....all of a sudden Motherwell players seemed to have new batteries installed but Rangers got a third and Roofe's 2nd of the game. Games like this when your struggling to break down teams but you plug away show a different mentality to the team this season. Not the best performance but still a win.....

Excellent 0-3 win in Perth last Wednesday evening to maintain our lead at the top which brought us to yesterday at home to Hibs. Early kick off and it was an enjoyable match to watch (for the neutral....lol) but after going in at the break 1-0 in front thanks to a fine move with Hagi scoring, I must admit to having a few heart in the mouth moments in the 2nd half. Tbf...Hibs made a game of it unlike Motherwell last week but once again we kept a clean sheet and showed a resilience that saw 3 points in the bag. Huge game against Celtic at Ibrox next Saturday but before that we're off to Paisley again but in the League this time. A 3pm ko and hopefully I'll manage to get the game.

Comfortable win in Paisley yesterday and another 3 points won keeping us well in front of Celtic albeit they have games in hand. St Mirren huffed and puffed a bit at the start of both halves but Rangers settled into their normal passing game. Kemar Roofe was again on the score sheet....gotta say I like this fella and the 2nd one was stroked in by Morelos after a terrible howler by the Buddies defence. So on to Saturday and Celtic are the visitors to Ibrox. They've came into a bit of form after calamitous period, albeit the defence still has problems when challenged imo, so it makes for a good game but I am hoping we have to much for them.

Stephen Robinson left Motherwell.

Seems like they have been under performing generally this season .

If Rangers win on Saturday its all over imo. Rangers are just not dropping any points to the also-rans and Tavernier who was their weak link for the past 2 or 3 seasons has suddenly become a major scorer and assister!

A lot of people are saying it will be all over RB....I'm not one of them. I'll wait until we get our hands on the trophy before I acknowledge that but things are looking good atm. Agree with you regards Tav....what a difference this season, the man must be a contender for Player of the season.
