Tighter than a Hooters T-shirt up top, although I'd like for all these games in hand to be done and dusted so we can see the real lie of the land.

Sadly our game in hand is against Accy which does not bode well, although we're more likely to make a good fist of an away game than a home fixture.

Our game in hand is at Accrington too, we've got Exeter A on tuesday, Stevenage A saturday and then the game at Stanley A next tuesday.

Before christmas I would have been confident of at least 6 points but after only 1 point from Yeovil and Barnet I'd probably take 4 points if offered now.

We're slowly drifting away.

Get a grip. You're a point outside the playoffs. You Staggies are starting to sound like the Carlisle fans* a week or two back when they were 3 points off with two games in hand.

*Obviously in a literal sense you always sound like Carlisle fans, as you are all Northern.

Plenty of Orient fans have predicted relegation on here in points this season. It's League 2, I think we've all got reason to expect the worst. For what it's worth I still don't think we'll make the play-offs, since the time you stated we've (very) narrowly beaten Stevenage and Morecambe, lost to Wimbledon and drawn to Accrington.

Neil Ardley reckons we've got a 'lovely ground'. This makes me think he's mentally retarded, and that victory tonight is a mere formality.

Sounded a very entertaining game at Sixfields, and Wimbledon seemed a good side. We've lengthened the gap over 2nd (as it stands) and 4th again tonight, superb.

Can't complain at those results tonight. Especially that last minute Exeter goal

Yeah some good results for us there. Still teams have a game in hand or in some cases 2 on us so all we can do is keep winning games. 4 of the top 7 in our next 5. If we can take points off our rivals then we will have a clearer picture at the end of March.

Bit premature - still 15 minutes left at Barnet.

Edited it when I realised

16 shots apiece at Sixfields tonight, was out of breath listening on the radio!

But you've lost four points to us in four days, which means we are on course to erode your 11 point lead and reclaim top spot by Saturday 12 March. Obviously not saying we will, but the mathematical facts are what they are.

Also interesting to note that, despite impressing no one at all on the forum this year, we are currently second and have the joint best goal difference.

Didn't realise Cambridge were so close. 8 teams going for 3 play off places, Assuming Accrington won't drop out of them!

This concession of stoppage time goals is ridiculous now. Carlisle, Stevenage, Morecambe and now Exeter have done it to us. Those extra eight points would see us right up there challenging for the automatics but this team has no bottle.

Exactly what I said about your lot in October when I went to see Pompey play County. Play some fancy stuff and are a good team but there's no cutting edge to see games through.

And we're quietly closing a bit of that gap too. And we play Orient in 7th on Saturday.

Aye, not too far off now, eh? Still, you have played some absolute filth over the past three games. Your 6 remaining away games are probably the toughest in the league (Orient, Plymouth, Barnet, Oxford, Carlisle, Northampton). Think you've left it a bit late, though a win on Saturday would put the cat amongst the pigeons.

The fact we are that close is crazy. I can count on one hand the numbe of decent performances we've put in all season. In fact I can't even think of that many. Shows how you get success in this league I guess.

Sit down Kenny. We just scrapped wins against three of the worst sides - either full stop or current form. Nothing to see here

We have too many fashionable players and not enough experienced lower league sloggers. Letting Robinson leave may really hurt us come May if Wimbledon finish above us. I'm hoping we can bring in someone on loan who can help make a difference for us.

What area do we need to focus on mostly? I guess all areas, there's not one player in the squad whose the main culprit.

The playoff race is tight as fuck but we don't lose many games so I still have hope for a decent finish to the season.

Proof, if it were needed, that Northampton can get salty about anything. Given that we play two games by March 12, how do you think we'll fare in making up those 11 points?
