Interesting set of results yesterday and we can now overtake Plymouth if we beat them on Saturday. If we win all of our remaining games we should overtake Bristol Rovers too due to our superior goal difference but that's unlikely.

Just gotta hope that the other teams above us fuck up somewhere down the line and we continue this winning run.

I thought yesterday was going to be typical Pompey, going 1-0 down at Daggers. Excellent response though.

I think the last three games could be interesting for you lot. If Wombles are still in the hunt, Hartlepool in form and Northampton still playing well then I think you deserve to go up if you get maximum points.

Rovers have got a very very easy run in so you will probably need to win at least 5

Hmmm, unsure about that. Exeter will be a tough game (hoping they lose next week and Wombles win their games to create a gap), and the 'easy' games are never that simple, especially with a team like yourselves.

EDIT: Agree with Pompey needing 5 of 6 though, can't see both us and Accy screwing up that badly.

If we don't get 3rd, we need to finish 4th. Don't fancy our chances against Portsmouth, we always lose to them! In the final you never know though.

I'd fancy us to beat Plymouth and whoever comes 7th though

Haha! Funny you should say that Gassy because if we don't get third, I don't want us to finish fourth. Whilst I would fancy our chances over two legs against Rovers, Accrington and Plymouth, it would strike fear into my heart if we had to play hoof ball, time wasting merchants Wycombe or Exeter who haven outplayed us in all three of our matches in the semis. Oh, and we'd want to avoid bogey team Leyton Orient, too, as they're the only side to do the double over us this season.

I'd normally agree if there was a relegation fight on, but Daggers and York are going to be gone by the time you face them

I can't see us putting up much fight next week, we don't score enough to be a threat as I can't see you failing to score. Stevenage very similar to ourselves plus due to York and Daggers being gone already (although not mathematically both us and Stevenage are pretty much done with the season)

Exeter is the one I think you could slip up on, but you are favourites for that game as well but their counter attacking style could lead to a good game against you.

You must be hoping we get 7th place. You'd hammer us in the semis, final is always sort of a lottery but you'd be heavy favourites for sure given your recent record against us.

Plymouth and Portsmouth run in is such that if they win automatic they will thoroughly deserve it, think play offs for both. Accrington, Oxford and Rovers have similar run ins though we have too face two in form sides in Exeter and Yeovil. Hoping for some complacency from Accie and us to grab third!

As long as there's room for Wycombe's visually stunning display if they get there

Not sure we'd need the whole box.

No chance of us getting to Wembley, last time was 45 years ago.

Urban mate, this isn't good for your health. As I said to you last week, like the cartoon fairy thing on Frozen apparently said (I've never watched it, honest) "Let it Go".

Take it this way. You'll always have last season. Like a true David and Goliath story, you won. Of course, the fable never mentioned that Goliath woke up, got promoted anyway, then next season showed David for the rubbish tinpot football club that David was anyway, showing that David had no fans, reached its glass ceiling and would probably soon fall back to once it came. Goliath also informed David that John Akinde couldn't even hold the cup that Matty Taylor put his penis in and that even if Goliath stays in league 2, David isn't even in Goliath's league.

Finishing in the playoffs would mean that you have successfully avoided us.

Still, six wins in a row against a club of your stature is pretty funny.

The season hasn't finished yet. It's still more probable that we'll be meeting you again in League 2 next season than you'll be a division higher than us.
I don't think we've reached our glass ceiling, we've certainly already got a good squad in place for 2016/17..

Still think you'll finish above us then? What was the bet again £1000? Also said Taylor wouldn't get in your team lol!!

Taylor probably wouldn't get in the Orient team because of their bizarre team selection policy!

Exeter are on a good run of form but they haven't exactly beat anyone good I don't think.
Well we've done the double over Plymouth, beaten Pompey at Fratton Park, beaten Accy at home so we've done ok.

I think we need 4 wins to secure a play off spot. Northampton at home on Saturday is a game I'd prefer instead of someone like Stevenage. We've nothing to lose now in any case.

I think you will always be known as MASSIVE Bristol rovers to our fans. If you are so big then I'm surprised this bothers you so much. It clearly does which is why it will continue to be a source of amusement.
Why would Akinde want to touch a cup you get for being second best?

We've still got some tough games to come. If we finish seventh we will have deserved it, and if we don't we will have missed a decent opportunity. Either way it has been the best season we've had in L2 by some distance

Pompey and Orient at home are the only two difficult games there. Any side looking to get into the playoffs should get 12 points from Crawley and Newport at home, and Daggers and Stevenage away. That would put us on 74 so given our goal difference advantage just one point from a combination of Orient and Pompey would leave Wycombe or Exeter having to win all five of their remaining games. If we don't do it from here, it's our own fault.

Indeed, we are happy to be little old Barnet. It makes it all the sweeter when we upset the odds.

You did indeed "upset the odds" when you finished higher than us on our lowest finish since 1920, which I'm sure is very sweet for a club like Barnet. One for the scrap books I'm sure.

Bristol Rovers love talking about how massive they are, it's odd.

I've no particular stake in this bizarre Barnet/Bristol punch-up but I did go off to look up Rovers' honours assuming they must have won important things at some point because I always think of them as quite big.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bristol_Rovers_F.C.#Honours

Quite disappointing to see they're not even vaguely massive judging by that record. Kudos for the Watney Cup though.
