Sad to see Lords so sparse for a weekend day at the test. Maybe a lesson to the MCC that charging £95 for a ticket needs a rethink. Never been my favourite place to watch cricket in any case due to the stuffy nature of the place compared to say Edgbaston.

Does anyone understand how the World Test Championship works? It seems we have played more games than all the others, but because of the losses in India we seem to be out of the running to reach the final.

Just read that the Muslim guy who was doing 60 in a 30 and mounted the pavement and killed Gus Atkinson's 55 year old mother has finally been extradited from USA after being on the run for 4 years after being granted bail. He also tested positive for cannabis. I never knew this before.

The bad light thing is a joke. They never start the day earlier than 11am when they could easily start at 10am or 10.30am. Also why have a tea break between 5.10pm till 5.30pm with play scheduled to finish at 7pm knowing at this time.og year the light won't be good enough. They could easily have basically played between 3.10pm and when they went off around 6pm without having that tea break instead it basically results in less cricket for the spectators to watch who no doubt will have paid 95 pounds for just 44 overs of cricket.

Aye great for SL to win that and they thoroughly deserve it. Pretty disappointed with some of the arrogance and complacency that had set in with England in this test match. Not the worst thing it’s come back to bite them on the arse.

Why are we recruiting players from Barbados. This new player hardly had any impact. What's wrong with youngsters from these shores. No wonder WI are so poor if we've poaching their best talent.

I think he has been playing here for a bit at Warwickshire but not sure when he came over as a kid ?

Seems to be a case of trying to look for the future but some big boots to fill .

I mean can we really replace Buttler , Stokes and eventually Rashid ?

It's the team selection. There was 9 bowlers in the team and not enough batting. Archer Rashid mahmood topley that's 4 number 11s batting 8 till 11. 2 of the batters were making there debut in bethall and Cox so asking alot on them to come in with early wickets lost. Basically the lineup last night is too reliant on salt getting a big score as jack's and Livingstone are inconsistent run getters.Id take topley out and play an extra batter but not sure who is in the squad to come in.

Thanks for that. I only followed sporadically on phone as I was in a meeting. The numbers also suggest that 86 runs in 6 overs of Power Play is not what you'd want v Oz.
