Can you keep a player in the team just for their catching abilities?

Now 5 down.

Why are we playing in the West Indies without a specialist spinner?

Probably because none of our 'specialist spinners' are good enough to deserve a place above anyone else in the side.

Tredwell is very average, and Panesar's best years are behind him.

We've missed Swann since the day he retired.

The dictionary needs to create new superlatives for Super James Anderson. Brillant human.

Trott out LBW for 9. I do feel for him, he was given a half standing ovation from the England contingent as he left the field, bit of a wave off and 'thank you' for your previous contributions. Even if he had scored runs here and his mental state was fine, you wouldn't fancy him to open vs Boult/Southee or Starc/Johnson throughout the summer. He's looked weak outside the off stump, has problems vs the short ball and now he's missed a slight in swinger that he normally pops through mid wicket for 4...

Thanks Trotty, but that's all. Let's move on. Hope he plays in the County scene very successfully for years to come, but I'd say he's done in International cricket, permanently.

Well, we are going to draw a series 1-1 in the West Indies FOR FUCK SAKE. NZ and Aussies are going to smash us. Embarassing.

39-5.

We will lose another before the days out. I'm going with Stokes.

Batting shambles.

It's going to take one hell of a bowling display for Jimmy and co. to win this.

If only we had a young leg spinner with the touring group. One that pretty much single handedly won his county the champuonship.

The idiocy not to select lyth and rashid in this series scares me. If not now, then when. Expect this exact line up to face Australia this summer

Why is Buttler at 8, ahead of just 3 rabbits?

It's fucking frustrating. Set out properly, with the right selection we are/can be a very good test side but instead we're going to draw a series against a poor WI side and even the test we won we had to rely on Anderaon and Root to carry the rest of the team.

We're going to get absolutely fucked by NZ and AUS, and it's all down the ridiculous, backward decisions at the top. Even worse that's it's coming straight after a disgraceful World Cup where we applied ourselves like a minnow from previous decades.

Even more frustrating when you consider the financial and organisational muscle we have , very little interference from the ipl and a one of the largest talent pools to pick from . We might win this test but in all honesty that would just be paper over the cracks .

Can't really blame them for going for the second one, was close on the umpires call.

Broad strikes!

The pressure kept on - 24 balls without a run, and then cleaned him up.

3 down.
