Out of interest, do you think that May could indulge the eurosceptic wing of her party if Labour led or were close in the polls?
As a general rule, leaders of the Conservative Party only ‘indulge’ the swivel-eyed loons on the anti-EU conservative right when the polls are close and there’s an election to be won. That’s why the EU referendum came about, really.

We're all swivel-eyed loons now.

Then how do you account for the current hard Brexit push May is going for, given that she 'campaigned' to remain. A negotiating ploy by her?

Dunno, TBH.

Don’t think it has much to do with the opposition (or lack thereof), though.

She was pulling a reverse Boris in the run up to the vote?

I do think a Labour Party with a lead or polling closing to the Tories, repeatedly banging a soft Brexit drum, would put the breaks on a hard Brexit. As it is, they're acting as if leave had won the vote by a bigger margin on a larger turn out.

Seems to me that May was always a Brexit supporter but had her eyes on being PM and thought remain would win and she wouldn't now be PM had she been vocal in the EU referendum.

Over 100 world order Labour MP's abstained from a motion to halt arms sales to Saudi Arabia. Utter bullshit. SA being the perpetrator's of 9/11, birthplace of IS & beheading women in broad daylight. These plebs will chime on about Russia/Assad yet allow for UK arms to be used for war crimes in Yemen. We don't just sell em arms to murder over 10,000 civilians, we help em get away with it too https://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/sep/24/yemen-britain-human-rights-inquiry. Dark forces.

Yeah. I think my point about polling being redundant has been proven beyond all doubt but I'm still very surprised V hasn't posted the latest poll.

Out and about this morning as part of The save the NHS day of action. Real anger towards the government and an appetite for change. Need more of these opportunities to engage.

Green Party endorsing Labour candidate in Richmond. New policy Look Out There Are Llamas ?

Possibly. This sort of thing has been suggested before. Only makes sense if the seat is a coinflip, though in general I think I'd have a hard time bringing myself to vote for Labour.

Why's that llamas?

From my above post, edited in but I'll copy it here:

"Incidentally I notice Caroline Lucas has suggested backing the Lib Dem candidate which was opposed by the local Green membership. More in line with my thinking tbh.

Edit: There isn't a Green candidate, so yeah, makes sense.

My thinking falls into line with Caroline Lucas. Brexit is probably the biggest issue right now and when it comes to Europe then the Lib Dems absolutely piss on Labour for my vote, although I did vow never to vote for the Lib Dems again after the coalition...

Out of interest Aber gas what is Labour's current position on electoral reform?

McDonnell very keen. Corbyn apparently open to a move to PR. Within the members it seems to me ( very unscientific study conducted by myself over drinks with random members) that it's a very generational split. Youngish  and young members feel it's a important issue whilst slightly older members are more ambivalent.

That's brownie points to Labour :D

Yeah, Lucas is right. Pretty senseless for Greens to give their backing to Labour given that the latter can't do anything in Richmond. Frankly, it would probably be most sensible for Labour to withdraw from the contest and give the Lib Dems a clear run at Goldsmith.

I don't disagree regarding Richmond. I'm more interested in whether this might be applied nationally.
