Still think Wigan will win it. But if we are runners up i couldn't give a shit. To have a crack at the championship. Is something that will never happen again in my lifetime so let's go for it. It's now or never.

I reckon that's goodnight from us, I don't fancy our chances if we somehow cling on to a playoff place either.

P.S. Wigan aren't a proper football club

21st in the form guide...2 goals in 5 games...1 was a penalty...devoid of pace, ideas, strength, nothing - the goals have dried up. This manager has absolutely, 100% ruined this squad - it's confidence, it's style, it's pattern of play. Defend well against and you keep a cleansheet. It's absolutely criminal what is happening with Henry and yet our board are quite content to just sit and watch the best chance we have had in a decade and will have for probably longer than that to get into the Championship slip through their fingers - for the sake of loaning a forward and lending Bradshaw a hand.

If we finish in the play-offs, every other side in the league bar the 5 above us should be totally ashamed of themselves. Abysmal division.

It has to be said its gash. We are top and we deserve to be but we have been piss poor in a good 6 games this season. I am bloody glad it's average as it gives us a chance but I have to concede it's bobbins this year.

Barnsley Swindon play off final at this rate, you lot are shit.
WE are sneaking up there, first home clean sheet for god knows, Ajose dosent score, (not sure how, their keeper had 2 or 3 out of this world saves) but Obika dose the business. Four points off a play-off place , nothing cut and dried yet!

Cov's goal difference is worth an extra point and they have got a game in hand-they do seem to have gone to shit recently though.

Still pretty laughable how badly some teams have imploded, this is what we did last season only we had about 25 extra points to play with.

Everyone's been so shit other than Burton, I think we should just let them go up and have like a 26 team season next year.

two proper clubs in top 2

Only half right I am afraid. Wigan are as bout as 'proper' as that Danish side that lost to Man Ure last week.

A lot of their fans on here seem to have developed a BBB attitude

Our local paper says "Albion are in the driving seat". Can't argue with that as we actually are. 4 points ahead of Wigan in 2nd with a game in hand and 8 above Walsall in 3rd. I agree that the quality in league one is not great this season, barely better than league 2 last season.
However you can only beat what is put in front of you and we have done that more consistently that every body else so far.
We really do have an unbelievable chance of reaching the championship as every team in the chasing pack apart from Wigan seems to be imploding. Can we do it-----Yes we can !

Your unbelievable you are still well in with a chance at 2nd spot and your definitely gonna get a top 6 spot. Stop fucking moaning try watching the club with by far the biggest budget and wage bill in the league and being 12th in the table.

How am I? I've watched the club do exactly what every Walsall fan knew they would do. Not strengthen, not bring players in, not fill the most obvious void in football history and now as everyone around us glides up the table, we produce 5 goals in 2 games and drop into relegation form. The squad is knackered, not playing for an absolute dullard of a manager who has come in and ruined team spirit, confidence + fiddled with formulae that previously worked.

Regardless of league position, we are and have fucked up the best chance we will ever have at the championship because we won't loan a striker to help the squad. I'm not moaning about us for general things, like Gillingham who have injuries. Our squad is fully fit, it's just the entire ethos, the togetherness, the goals, the creativity have been sapped out of us by a dour manager and the lack of investment in a back up striker by the owner. We have 1 centre forward worthy of league 1 football; anyone can see it.

We are completely gone, whatever we had prior to Christmas has gone, evaporated, this isn't just a sudden down turn. We haven't played well since Brentford in the cup and we haven't played well in the league since November.

I don't think anyone is gliding up the table. Wigan and Burton keep grinding out results true, but Gills are struggling with key injuries, Millwall keep dropping points, Coventry are dropping like a stone and as for the chasing pack....

In any other year, Walsall would not make the play offs. But this year, they could easily stay in there and if the other 3 teams that make it go in with similarly poor form, you never know.

Your 4 points off 2nd with a game in hand. You arent as good as wigan or burton so how have you wasted your best chance of championship football. You talk absolute shite still 3rd in the league get a grip

Blademan as you know yourself when you watch your own team week in week out you get a much better idea of performances and feeling around the club than any oppo fan. Whilst Rad may have taken the pessimism to the extreme limit he is absolutely right. His opinion is shared by many concerned Saddlers fans. There are 3 issues here that could potentially see us drop of out of the playoffs
- No January investment whatsoever by the club.
- Sean O' Dismal- He came in and said he would not change anything in a winning formula. I cant listen to any his interviews now and he sounds like he just cant be bothered. No subs made during matches, dire tactics and baffling team selections/formations. The players have clearly picked up on his lack of motivation and the drop started as soon as he started. The 'football' is just a big chore to watch and has been for a few months.
- Confidence is draining match after match. That is something that is hard to restore.

We have scored something like 2 goals in 5 games and just never look like scoring. We are 3rd for now but wont be staying there. Its so frustrating to watch as we are just night and day since pre-christmas. I am not saying the playoffs are out of the question but 'something' has got to change. Who knows, a good loan signing or a lucky 94th minute own goal to win us a game....just something to give us a spark!!!

Fair enough you both do know more than me but you havent really dropped down the league and in all honesty you are probably not good enough for top 2 but i really cant see how you will possibly drop out of the playoffs. Your having a bad spell in front of goal but that can change anytime cant it. You would of been delighted with a top 6 finish at the start of the season and imo you will get it easily.
