Am I right in thinking we haven't beaten FGR for 18 months? 0-2 at their place in 2015/16 and then 2-2 there this season, with two 0-1 defeats at home to them?

I've got a recurring nightmare that we'll be the side that lets them into the league and everyone will hate us for eternity for it.

Interesting observation after studying play offs since 2014.

2014 - Grimsby knocked out semi finals by Gateshead.
2015 - Grimsby go one better and make the final but lose.
2016 - They go one better again and win play offs.

2015 - FGR lose out semi finals v Bristol Rovers.
2016 - Reach the final but lose
2017 ?

In terms of the team that deserves it more, I would like Tranmere to complete the job.

In terms of who I think will be the lesser threat next season in L2, I would much, much prefer FGR.

Drew last season's home game 1-1 when Dale Bennett won the thug of the year award.

Don't like the idea that it's Forest Green's turn to go up. For the neutral this would be a more attractive game than Rovers v Dagenham, which would have been more of a tactical battle. Very hard to call the result.

Just on the way back to Norwich from Liverpool Street and I'm still absolutely gutted. FGR deserved to win don't get me wrong, but if we put in anywhere near what we're capable of, it's a different game. Still, to have come this far with this bunch of players and a management team that loves the club, you can't ask for much more. 500 Daggers there this afternoon and I for one am very proud to be a Dagger once again.

Can I just add, ignore those idiot 12 year old who made utter tits of them selves, great credit to your fans today, clapping our fans and being incredibly gracious in defeat, good luck next season we'll probably see you again as well next season ;)!

Feeling shit this morning, but feeling fucking ecstatic at the same time. Sunday games with something to celebrate after are a fucking bitch.

Fair play Dagenham, good club, good support. Didn't deserve the shit a few bellends tried to give u at the end. Hope next time u come u get some seats n get let in the green man.

Wembley again, gonna get fleeced but should be a good day, especially if we somehow do a job on Tranny again.

Only saw the first half, but it was nice to see FGR hitting the channels a bit instead of passing the ball sideways at the back.

Yes, sorry. 1-1 it was. Even so, it's still 18 months!

So, P4, W1 D2 L1 vs FGR, so this is the decider in the best of 5.

What happens if we sell our our 17k allocation on lower tier? Will they give us FGRs allocation or have some on upper tier?

We won't do that
Unlikely, but not impossible.

Some FGR are fans trying to justify why the will win on Sunday (fair enough, believe in your own team and all that) on their forum. One line in particular stood out:
"Tranmere are 3rd team on Merseyside: FGR are top team in Stroud."

???

Doesn't Johnny King say in his autobiography that his only regret is never having won the Stroud Hospital Cup?

Tranmere are the top team on Wirral. Which has a population of 400k. Silly farmers.

If that's the most bullish comment you can find it's hardly that bad is it?

Of course our fans are buzzing, we've got one of the biggest games in our history coming up. Vast majority being very respectful of Tranmere, you are a much bigger club, finished above us and have some top quality players.

But we've got a chance.

For sure it'll be a good game.

Can't imagine you'd get away with another performance like the one at Prenton Park. But we'll have to deploy a different formation to that game as 3 of those players are now injured.

Think a lot of it will come down to the fitness of our centre mids + Connor Jennings in being able to pressure you for 90 minutes in a nerve wrecking game.

It's not the bullishness of it, it's the absurdity. It's quite funny, wasn't having a go.

I guarantee that it was a tongue in mouth line comparing the big city club of Tranmere to the small village club of FGR.

Ok fair enough.

How about

THE TOP DOGS ON THE WIRRAL V THE TOP DOGS IN THE STROUD DISTRICT - CLASH OF THE TITANS LIVE AT WEMBLEY.

ROVERS ARE GOING UP.
Here's something I did for an article I'm working on, but it fits in with that type of comment:
