So if scunny lose at orient their relegation is sealed. thats a forgone conclution then but then it gets interesting 3 teams on 37 points. i can see both oldham and stevenage getting wins on friday but i think forest green will have too much for barrow so if i were a barrow supporter i would be a little concerned. hope i am wrong though and barrow get something and stevenage get battered.
Looks bleak for Barrow with their fixtures, they needed a result at Crawley really but they gave us a good battle first half, Oldham looked a very useful side though and can’t see them going down based on that, they gave us a bigger scare than Mansfield/Sutton/Salford had in recent weeks so a very dangerous outfit. Worry would be them defensively though.

I think Stevenage as bad as they were the other week under Evans will scrape some form together, think their run in is kind as well.

Barrow for me go which is a shame as they looked to have put together a decent squad early last summer.

Sorry to say this, but think Evans is going to keep Stevenage up.

I'm thinking it's going to be Barrow now that fall through the trapdoor with Scunny.

Hope I'm wrong

The fact it's not set in stone that Oldham are the other team going down at this point of the season is mental. This is arguably the most preventable relegation from L2 almost ever, the two teams for relegation were decided before a ball was kicked due to basket case owners and being saddled with an embargo.

yeah - it should have been....

on other matters I really hope you guys win all your remaining games - i've quite enjoyed the Scunny Vlog that one of your fans does nearly every week - and actually want to see the guy have a smile on his face at the end of the games for once.... particularly after your game on Monday ;)

Oldham still predicted most likely to drop. 45% chance.

that's probably because we have a game in hand. but we both have horrendous fixtures

I don't think it's an impossible task for you though would understand any Barrow fan fearing the worst. Just had a quick look at your remaining fixtures and would say Sutton at home on Easter Monday is an opportunity given they are not quite the same away from home and the long distance, Swindon away (again they are a little shaky at the County Ground) and then Northampton on the last day if they have their fate sealed in terms of the playoffs/automatics may well rest some.

I didn't see our game with you as had gone away but by all accounts in the first half you did well so if can repeat that over the 90 who knows. From what I've seen I will say I think Oldham are the best team of the relegation candidates but maybe it was just a case of them getting really up for that game with a great away support.

It's Salford away Easter Monday - Sutton is the Saturday after - but yes on paper that's a chance. We do need to start scoring more goals though. Swindon and Northampton we've already beaten once this season - doing it again is unlikely.
As with most of the forum I'd prefer Stevenage to finish 23rd - although that obviously means Derby (or A N Other) will go pop to save them.

We all know that there will be only one relegation spot this season due to Derby going bust. Scunthorpe have that spot so I dont know what everybody else is worried about.

I would say that happening is very unlikely. The EFL won't allow it to happen to them and just let them keep kicking the can down the road. Eventually someone will buy Derby and they will go back to spending as though nothing had happened. This is not a Bury or Macc where they looked like they couldn't wash their hands of them quick enough.

If Derby did go bust they'd probably try to stick any new Derby club in EFL2 anyway...

Yeah can’t see Derby going pop, as much of a mess as they are in, think they could end up with further points off next season though? But as said a big club like that the EFL won’t let them go.

They’ll be saved. Probably stutter in league One until January then spend loads in the window and fly up to promotion at the expense of someone like Wycombe who had lived relatively within their means and were challenging with good recruitment and management and finish second behind runaway champions Exeter.

That would really send shockwaves and maybe finally get something done about bad ownership though if it did happen as if little old Bury and Macc Town weren’t enough to trigger that.

You are correct or course, but you’re forgetting the legend of John Sheridan. It is down to him and him alone that we’re not dead and buried alongside you.

Suddenly it looks bleak for Oldham, Piergianni getting himself sent off late won`t help.

given that Stevenage go to Scunthorpe next i'd say it's between us and Oldham. Oldham need 4 more points than us in their last 4 games as their GD is 14 worse than ours. We also have a game in hand on them.

It’s over now. Annoyed with Shez for giving us hope - it should have been over in February. Really spineless performance today which is a shame because the players have been putting it in of late. Completely dejected and resigned to our fate. We’ll struggle again in the national league next year and there’s naff all we can do about it.

You're not down yet - but if you do go down the same thing that i said to the Scunthorpe guy applies - if you go down but manage to get rid of the owner the club will end up better for it.

Of course it’s not over until the fat lady sings but I can hear her warming up. I don’t see a way in which we get 4 more points than you and Stevenage are safe with their banker against Scunthorpe.

You’re right in one sense regarding the owner, but we thought that when we got rid of the last set of charlatans. These lot seem intent on sticking around which means we’ve not bottomed out yet.

Commiserations to Scunthorpe who seemed doomed before the season started on most predictions. Sad to see a long standing side of the EFL to out but hopefully the repercussions of this will see them taken over and come back stronger. Sad to see them go with a whimper the last few games too.

Surprised by Oldham today as they were decent last week but does look bleaker with other results today.

That was us last week. Today's win came out of nowhere, so the fact that we finally seemed determined to try and stay up offers a lot of encouragement - I thought we were on for zero points from the run-in.

Oldham could pick up 3 against a nervy FGR and we lose to Salford and it's back level again. This battle is nowhere near over.

We’re not quite out of it yet. Our players have downed tools and I don’t think we’ll get another point based on recent performances and the players we have missing. We look absolutely terrible at the moment.

Obviously there’s a possibility we won’t need another point if Oldham lose on Monday, but after Forest Green got battered at barrow, it wouldn’t be the biggest surprise if Oldham turned them over. Then with Barrow’s tails up after todays win, they could put a little run together. They are currently only 7 behind us with a game in hand. Likewise Stevenage. I think Barrow and Stevenage will overtake us, so we’re pinning our hopes on Oldham losing a game which should happen but I’m not taking anything for granted.

I won’t be content until it’s mathematically certain that we’re safe.
Then we can start releasing a load of these losers and hopefully bring in better quality for next season.

Jesus Christ… your 10 clear with 12 to play for… although if you could maybe turn over Mansfield for us we would appreciate it just to be sure!

That's taking pessimism to a whole new level. 10 points clear with 4 to go and 4 teams would have to overtake you.

Dear me, you have me worried now, we are only 12 points clear with 4 to go!

I have a feeling that he'll be panicking when they're 10 or more clear with 9 to play for..... just in case they get a points deduction.

Yeah that’s why I said Oldham should lose at least one of their remaining 4 games which would save us. But you never know.

Oh and no chance we beat Mansfield. As I say, we have key players out, the players look shattered and have thrown in the towel on the season.

I’d just like FGR to bounce back with a win on Monday just to allow me to go into the final 3 games worry free
