That was us last week. Today's win came out of nowhere, so the fact that we finally seemed determined to try and stay up offers a lot of encouragement - I thought we were on for zero points from the run-in.

Oldham could pick up 3 against a nervy FGR and we lose to Salford and it's back level again. This battle is nowhere near over.
yeah - we scored 4 against FGR today - Oldham scored 5 against them last time they played them.... it's not over yet..... it might almost be if we beat Salford away (it'll never happen) and Oldham lose and Scunny thrash Stevenage....

Yeah that’s why I said Oldham should lose at least one of their remaining 4 games which would save us. But you never know.

Oh and no chance we beat Mansfield. As I say, we have key players out, the players look shattered and have thrown in the towel on the season.

I’d just like FGR to bounce back with a win on Monday just to allow me to go into the final 3 games worry free
lets hope FGR do - so the rest of us can stop worrying about your mental health until next season

IF Barrow and Stevenage follow up their wins today and Oldham lose against FGR on Monday, then I think its going to be all but done with Barrow and Stevenage also with games in hand.

Picture could be clearer come Monday, I thought Barrow would go because of their run in - But their win today proves anything can and probably will happen.

Feel for the Scunny fans on here. No relegation is a good feeling but dropping down to the Conference has to be the worst of the lot. Unfortunately this is one of those from the outside looking in where it's not come from nowhere and appears to have been a few years in the making through mismanagement off the pitch. Wish them all the best in sorting that out and making a return back.

Huge win for Barrow today. May be the case that it's not the worst thing to be playing promotion chasers as like with FGR they'll be feeling their own pressure in getting over the line. Sadly I think the EFL is stuck with Stevenage for another year now.

Looking for omens, Crewe in their first game after relegation bounced back yesterday to beat Wimbledon.
Could Scunthorpe do the same now there's no hope?

Problem is we've thrown a lot of youngsters into the first team so we're a bit inconsistent. Collins should be first choice keeper now, Rory Watson's confidence is shot again.

Cheers to the Vale Fans, hope you hang on to that promotion spot.

In a parallel universe where we didn’t sack Keith Millen, today would be the day our relegation out of the football league would be confirmed.

I’m so thankful that we made the change when we did and thanks to Paul Simpson we have a decent chance of staying up. Our safety could even be confirmed today if Forest Green beat Oldham. However I’m not as confident of that as I was given Forest Green’s result at Barrow.

And in that same parallel universe; you would have been clinging onto a late run for the playoffs !!

"Decent chance of staying up." Hate to see what HG thinks of his chances when he backs a 1/6 favourite at Cheltenham.

Shocked we ended up picking up another point.

Going down as arguably the worst side to grace the FL in recent memory, lowest points (except for deductions) since Donny in 1998

Saturday sees;-

Barrow v Sutton
Oldham vs Salford
Stevenage v Tranmere

could be all settled next weekend - but this is League 2 - so it won't be that straight forward...

All 6 teams with something to play for there which is unusual in a way at this time of the season .

Oh my word, WE ARE SAFE!!!!

What a job this manager has done. After that Swindon defeat we were done, finished, all but down. To be safe with 3 games to spare is remarkable.

I can’t believe it’s happened. I’m in dream world. We are still a football league club!

You've been safe all season.

There was only ever two teams that were going to be relegated, those two teams can't pay even close to the wages of other teams in this league due to the embargo. Us and Oldham were never even allowed to be competitive.

Very true, said it months ago, Scunny and Oldham were absolute gifts to any team struggling this season.

We were literally in the bottom 2 when Simpson took over. We were anything but safe.

I don't normally agree with HG when it comes to relegation probabilities but under Millen we were only getting worse and were already in the relegation zone. The Shezurrection might still have stalled and we might still have gotten a win or two but we were never getting these hard ground out wins over teams like Bristol Rovers Northampton and Mansfield under Millen, and probably wouldn't have come from behind against Oldham, so right away that's 12 points fewer for us and another three for Oldham.

Oldham MUST be Nerdford next week, those games in hand are going to have a HUGE say in a weeks time.

If Oldham lose on Saturday, I think that will be that sadly.

I think it's done already. That Easter weekend has been a disaster for Oldham.

it's not done yet - but does look bleak for Oldham;-
but in theory if they were to get 4 points and Stevenage lose their last 4 games by 1 goal then Oldham could stay up (just) on goal difference. It's unlikely that they could finish above us if they only get 4 as their GD is 16 worse than ours.
One thing that has gone against Oldham is the way the fixtures have fallen;-
On Friday we thumped title chasing FGR and Oldham were the team that had to face them next and as often happens the FGR manager got them react to the defeat which didn't help Oldham.
Yesterday we drew 2-2 at Salford putting a big dent in their play off hopes and their manager will be looking to get a similar reaction on Saturday - when again Oldham are the team that have to face them.

What’s gone against us most is that the players have jacked it in the last couple of games. The least talented group in our history now can’t be arsed and it’s showing. Piergianni and Keillor-Dunn have already signed contracts elsewhere for next season and most of the rest are out of contract.

Where has he signed on at? I know we had a bid for him rejected in January.
