What is Will Grigg's ratio in this league? Or James Vaughan for that matter? Who is your other striker Gavin Massey?

As I said, punching above their weight thanks to an outstanding manager. Billy Sharp scored only 21 goals in 101 Championship games before this season. Leon Clarke 35 goals in 208. He’s got over half that in one Championship season under Wilder. A top manager finds a way to polish t**ds. If he goes, Leon will return back to his usual self.

Yep all down to wilder how they've scored 30 goals.

Where do you get that Billy Sharp number from cos I have it has he has plundered 91 of his career league goals (203) at this level.

Better than anything Wigan have.

Clarke and Sharp could both turn to shit next season and still be better than Grigg at this level.

We’ll see about that now Grigg’s coming into the Championship with a full pre season, injury free and a proper manager coaching him. Anyway that’s irrelevant to the debate, my original point still stands. Wilder leaves Sheff Utd and they’ll struggle next season with their squad.

their squad pisses on yours....

how can we take you serious when you can't even get a basic stat right?

Old Pyro has 5 goals in 33 league games at this levels, two came in one game, so 4/32 or 1 in 8, Aden Flint scores with more regularity.

Billy Sharp had scored 21 goals in his last 101 Championship games before playing in the same division under Wilder. Does that answer your question?

Now that makes more sense though still incorrect, 23 in 92 or 34 in 133 still better than Griggs 5 in 33......

See Barnsley have already binned Morais. You’d have thought they’d have seen our car crash under Warren Joyce and thought twice before appointing a “highly rated” coach. Obviously not!

the only way you could possibly hold this opinion is if you haven’t actually seen Sheffield United play this season.

Is this a different will Grigg to the one that was a total car crash the last time you were at this level then?
As for the Blades comment, utterly laughable, they're a far bigger club than Wigan, miles bigger!
All respect to Wilder who's done a marvelous job but if I supported a side that made a total balls of it when last in the Championship, I would be inclined to show some respect to those that didn't.

He's not far wrong. The players at Wilder's disposal are mainly lower league players mixed with a few players like Stearman, Coutts etc who have been deemed not good enough at this level by other clubs.

What are you talking about? I’m not being disrespectful I’m making a prediction. Christ when did this forum go to the dogs so badly! Imagine taking it personally that a fan of a different team thinks a club in the same division will struggle if they’d lose their infinitely successful manager. Jesus!

Personally? I was just stating a fact that Will Grigg was utterly woeful at this level previously and Sheff Utd are a bigger club and did better than you managed last time. WTF?

Stearman is an odd example to use if you’re taking that sort of line, though, as he’s been an established Championship defender for the majority of his career. A good third of players who are successful at this level have failed elsewhere previously. Bournemouth under Eddie Howe are a team of rejects, many of whom never actually performed that well in the level below (Josh King for example), but are now easily holding their own at the highest level. It seems unlikely that the likes of Simon Francis and Charlie Daniels would suddenly revert back to type — middling L1 fullbacks — just because Howe left. A n even better example might the Norwich City side that achieved back to back promotions a few years back: Russell Martin, Chris Martin, Grant Holt, etc — hardly illustrious careers up until that point but at the very least will be remembered a season very good championship players. Now more than ever footballers are able to grow and develop. In today’s championship, the biggest thing separating winners and losers is confidence and a mental edge.

I think any halfway competent manager could make that Sheffield United squad at least competitive. That they’d struggle if they lost Wilder is possible in the sense that if any club lost a successful manager and employed a dope, or someone with unworkable tactics, they’d struggle. There are some limitations to their squad yes, but players like brooks, Lundstram, Coutts, Duffy, Fleck, etc, are not going to suddenly lose their individual quality overnight, like they’re Jimmy Grimble without his magic boots.

News broke from a QPR forum, a few tabloids picked it up and recycled the news but now Sky Sports are claiming to have an update shortly.

I know Sky Sports isn't reliable but I would imagine it is the most viable source as Holloway probably has something in a contract about going back to work for them (total guess).

Would love Mclaren to come in, I think he would get a lot more out of the team consistently than what Holloway does.

I hope you have a large budget because McClaren will be useless without one.

Yeah, we have no money to spend on players. The fine (forgotten how much exactly) is still there lingering but we are still disputing it. Wouldn't surprise me if their idea is to dispute it for so long that we get promoted and we pay it with the premiership money.

Problem with that idea is we still have Holloway with manager and we will not go up with him.

Don’t think we’ve been linked to so many managers before! Jack Ross from St Mirren has been given permission to talk so presumably a compensation fee has been agreed.
Scott Parker has now been linked and had an interview in the week!

Safe to say Evans isn’t jumping into anything which can only be a good thing I guess

Paul Clement already linked with a move away from the club - if Ancelotti gets appointed at Napoli, reports suggest that Clement will be his assistant.

I think he gets this quite often, pretty sure the same sort of rumours surfaced when he left us. Probably always will be linked as they absolutely bum each other. If he does that he'll struggle to get another half decent job as a full time coach.

Strikes me as the sort of coach that wants everything given to him from what our chairman said on his time here, unfortunately for him he's going to have to work his bollocks off to make something in management, jumping ship for another assistant job now will not be a good career move IMO.
