Just finished the Into The Machine level. Really enjoying this game. Brings back memories of games like Jak and Daxter. Quite cartoonish too with some good characters like Bentley, a really nerdy turtle.

Just Cause. I just got it today and currently past the Casino mission. Still very early into the game but I'm enjoying it so far :)

Right so early thoughts on Just Cause 2.

I'll start on my criticism, I've got 3 cons although 1 may be because I suck

Shooting is awkward compared to most shooter games these days, I didn't think I had to press on the right analog stick to shoot and when you actually shoot your enemies, they die weirdly as if you don't know when they're dead.

Second the running. Ok, what is the point of actually making your player being able to run when its hardly at a faster speed? Running is almost the same as walking and I seriously hope this is fixed in the third game.

Lastly, the driving. I won't go into detail because I feel like this has to do with me just sucking, it feels really weird driving because I can't drive straight. I don't know if its because I just suck or because the driving controls aren't great. I haven't played real car games until recently. Before that, I mostly played kart racing games so I may just not be used to it.

Now the pros

The grappling hook mechanic is excellently executed. I thought constantly having to grapple hook throughout the game would get annoying but I was wrong. Its really fun to use, and its not too difficult to execute it. Also love how the game lets you know when you are close enough to grapple hook or not.

Parachute as well is extremely well executed. Enjoy parachuting here much more than in GTA V.

The map is huge, and I love that. There is plenty to do and the missions are fun, even though you have to do the exact same mission for the stronghold takeovers over and over again. It gets repetitive but I still enjoy them so its not really a complaint.

Love having a flying vehicle to sell you anything at any time you want (well in most places rather) its convenient rather than having to do to a store. Especially in a map as huge as this.

Lastly, I love the voice acting in this, especially from Rico Rodriguez.

Just a few early thoughts, I'm loving the game so far, and while the fighting CAN be awkward, I never said I don't enjoy it.

i'm on the 2nd highest difficulty level, the one where meditation doesn't give you health back

Blimey, because I am renting this and the plethora of games coming out in the next two months I wanted to play and enjoy the story - so I had it on average difficulty.

I have enjoyed it, though some of the monologue is boring.

Up to the second zone, Layercake Desert. Fun game so far, really nice art style and some good, nostalgic music.

Got a couple on the go.

Dino Crisis on the Dreamcast, Alan Wake on the 360, Battlefield 4 on the X1 and Tearaway on the Vita.

The Vita is fucking incredible so not surprised. Been doing a thing on the podcast I mentioned me and my mate have started where I pick 3 games that I bought and haven't played and then he picks one and I play it. Dino Crisis was one of them. Loving it, Gail is a right badass.

Played this through last week, incredible. Played it in two mammoth sittings. Staying up till 3ish and then getting up at 9am the next day to go finish it. A completely constructive use of my final week of the summer hols!

It's so much better than I thought it was going to be. Finished ep3 in the early hours of this morning. Tempted to say it's better than TWD, which was a smashing game in its own right.

Broken Sword: The Serpant's Curse.

I'm a huge fan of the first two Broken Swords and I was excited to play this given its return to simple 2D point and click. It's a massive let down though, it's ridiculously easy. Worst of all is the game doesn't have the charm or intriguing plot of the original two.

Thats a shame, I only played the one of those on the ps that had the clown blowing up places, and had intended to have a look into them. Bit of a point and click fan, keep meaning to pick up Grim Fandango on the Vita but it might have to wait till the next break from work.

Has Grim Fandango held up well? I like adventure/P&C games, generally, but have only really played newer entries like the Telltale stuff and Broken Sword. Thinking about downloading it now that I have a PS4.

If you think the Monkey Island series held up well then you'll enjoy it. Nostalgia doesn't ruin games for me like it does films though.

The original two BS games are a must for any fan of these games. I would love the Discworld games, especially Noir, to be recomissioned but can't see it happening.

Picked both of them up last year for the Saturn at a show, but I haven't gotten around to starting them again yet.

Downloading it now. Four gigs. Seems a bit excessive for a game that's nearly 20 years old.

Been on Hyrule Warriors again lately, I appreciate it's very basic, but I enjoy it. I really liked Bladestorm but never got into the other games they do as the setting is usually too strange for me.

As a Zelda fan I love this though.

Through the friends list. Click the register new friend option or whatever it's called.

Metal Gear Solid V
Just finished mission 15. The one where you have to eliminate the four walker gears. Think it was 15 anyway. Need to do more actual missions since I've been doing way more side ops. Also, Pirate Hippo is the best fucking soldier name ever.

New Super Mario Bros

Fuck these underwater levels.

Until Dawn - pretty early on, after the death of beth and some other girl who's name I forgot

looks fantastic, and I love these narrative type games, still no idea what to do half the time but that's the beauty of making your story I guess

Universalis europa 3. I should love it but it's so hard to get my head around what's going on and it doesn't tell you what any of the buttons do. I started as Morocco for the second time, I planned to raise an alliance across North Africa but Portugal attacked me pretty quickly and I hadn't built an army yet so that was the end of that.

Any tips BigDaveCUFC?
