I dunno who they are. Where did Professor Alice Roberts finish?

I couldn't tell you mate, I like to vote so I feel I've had my say but a make a rule to never view the final result as I feel when you start ranking them off against each other is becomes a bit sexist. Everyone is beautiful in their own way I say.

I had that trouble when i wanted a reference from a previous employer and i called their HR Department. They said the same thing.Phoned up my former manager and within half an hour he provided a reference.

Hospital labour ward not having wifi nor my phone getting signal for data. Why don't they kit the hospital out in wifi and charge a reasonably high price and make a shit load of money?

Because don't mobile phone signals mess with hospital equipment or something? Aren't you normally supposed to switch your phone off.

No. And these days thankfully, no. Most hospitals don't bother. Milton Keynes hospital for example is a complete shit hole, but has open wifi available throughout most of it.

I just read this...

"I once swam in a hot tub filled with hatching mosquitoes in the dark. I didn't notice until after I pulled my hand out and it was black. Then, I saw the surface of the water moving…They were inches deep."

I hate mosquitoes.

Insomnia. The song's alright but I'm talking about the condition/illness (whatever you call it)

Think I've had about 12 hours sleep since Sunday evening.

Sad Bluebee.

Had it for a month or so last year, know exactly how you feel mate. It's fucking horrible and disheartening turning side to side for hours on end. The mornings are even worse mind

The Downward Spiral Of Existential Angst
This happens to me every now and again, usually brought on by stress or something that happened during the day or is about to happen very soon it keeps playing over and over in my mind like a loop and I can never switch off and fall asleep.

Good advice guys, cheers
any time...

being serious though, I did the same for almost 8 years. I over-think pretty much everything and at night when there's nothing to distract you, it's awful. Laying in the dark trying to drift off only to relive the day/week/month over and over, thinking I should have done this or should have said that before getting frustrated that I was still awake worrying over irrelevant things. Try thinking logically (ie what's done is done and there's no changing it so what's the point in even thinking about it) but that never worked, just ended up getting mad at myself and finding it even more difficult to sleep (seriously I think I have mental issues...) So, I'd read or watch tv/films to distract myself until I was tired enough to crash (usually would've been between 3am-6am). The inconsistent hours I used to work probably didn't help nor that after my accident and quitting that job, I spent almost 2 years not doing anything. Started a new job in December and since I have early starts, I've had to go to bed early and try to get into some sort of sleeping pattern. Still have bad nights but I think I'm slowly getting there.

A guid dram
Only had about 3 hours today so been knackered the whole day but thats mainly due to getting phone call interruptions during sleeping. Ordinarily I'd ignore it, but I have a parent in hospital currently and it could be them phoning.

I sometimes get days or weeks without much sleep then I'll sleep like a log (never understood that definition!) for other weeks. I've noticed this week especially that reading for an hour before bed has been helping greatly. I'm going through the short stories of Sherlock Holmes just now and they aren't too long and I feel thats enough to help me get a good sleep when I do get over.

I've always had issues falling asleep though, sometimes taking hours before I drift off. I used to stay at a friends on occasion when I was younger and they'd drift off to sleep as soon as their head hit the pillow - how did they do it! Do they not have any worries or thoughts in their head, are they able to just switch off!?! Always been envious of people like that.
