Looks like we're done. Defensively we've had a great window if we can get VvD back onboard - which should happen. We needed a Fonte replacement, we got that. We needed a box to box midfielder and Lemina looks like he can do that job comfortably, early days though but he looks promising so far.

But I still see us struggling to score goals. We haven't even tried to address that issue and lost Jay Rod, now Jay Rod looked shite for us for a very long time but he is so much better than Nathan Redmond. It's not so much that our strikers are poor, Austin and Gabbi will put the ball away if they're given a chance. It's getting the chances to them that is the problem and was last season. Really need Boufal to step up now but he's yet to feature under MP.

It will be interesting to see how both VVD and Coutinho deal with the next 6-9 months. I can't see either downing tools, or being unprofessional and making a noticeable lack of effort. You both wanted moves, it didn't happen, deal with it in a sensible manner.

Can't believe we got rejected by someone who'd struggle to get into our bench ffs.

Yeah, a lot of club's (supporters) have left the window disappointed.

Although, I'm not sure why Newcastle thought today was the best day to try and sort their left-back issues out.

Genuinely starting to feel for Chelsea
Never. It's been a fucking delightful summer of players being stolen from under Chelsea's nose. Some slight payback for the past 13 years. Long, long, long may it continue.

I'm glad Sanchez stayed at Arsenal, I hope he considers not going to City next summer.

Raised a few questions to be honest.

If Sanchez was a key signing, why leave it until tonight (although the same question can be asked for anyone trying to force through a deal tonight) and by the same token, Arsenal knew that Sanchez wanted out, and knew City were interested, so why wait until 4.00pm today to try and line up a replacement, if that was the deal breaker? Why then make a huge bid at 4.00pm and the pull out due to lack of time at 4.30?

But just as confusing is why Mangala leaving was so important to signing Evans? It's not like City need the money...

Tbh, I'm not arsed about players "rejecting" Chelsea. Llorente's 32, so clearly only ever a stop-gap for whoever he signed for. I don't really rate Barkley at all, and he's out injured for months, so not actually that useful for the foreseeable. I was more enthusiastic about Oxlade-Chamberlain, but if he's averse to playing WB, I'd suggest he'd possibly be of limited use to us too...

The real problem is the failure to properly identify and sound out targets to ensure we have a squad capable of competing on multiple fronts. They had three months to accomplish this. Kinda beggars belief that they've spent the last day of the window fucking around like this.

We loaned our back up left back out as well. Guess we'll see if Haidara can stay fit for longer than 20 minutes.

Riviere, De Jong and Hanley have all been moved on over the last few days, plus a load of loans, and nobody has come in during that time. Can't imagine Rafa is a happy bunny. Wouldn't blame him for walking tbh, Ashley is a cancer.

If we get Silva over the line Im fookin buzzing about our window.
Signed Iheanacho up top, Iborra and Silva to replace Drinkwater, Maguire and Dragovic for the defence. Got a replacement in for Ziegler as well.
And kept our best players, DW aside, but hes been well replaced.
Good that our deadline day targets are long standing targets too, so it doesn't smell like panic.

Why have Monaco loaned their best player (arguably) to their biggest rivals?

PSG have effectively signed him. They just aren't' making it official so to get around FFP, and have a deal to pay £166 mill next year.

Ended up being a trimming down day. Federici to Nottm Forest, Marc Wilson to Sunderland, plus some kids loaned out.

My worry with losing Worthington and Cargill on loan and releasing Wilson, is that we're very short of defenders particularly right footed ones.

I am rather relieved we've not broke the bank for Demarai Gray, it's too much money and a position we're already well supplied in. Keep that powder dry, we'll certainly have plenty of use for 20 odd million in the future.

Did Mahrez end up staying at Leicester as well out of interest? Don't think I've seen him mentioned moving.

The fun isn't over, Joe Ledley still hasn't decided where he's going. Could be the answer to Arsenal's centre midfield problems.

Because it isn't incumbent on Arsenal to help City get their ducks in order? Arsenal didn't want to sell Sanchez (rightly or wrongly). If City wanted him so badly they could have come up with an acceptable offer in July.

At any rate, I don't think it was too late to sign Lemar, I think he turned us down. Hardly surprising.

Yeah, he was stressed and his back hurt the poor kitten.

Unprofessional cnut. My opinion of him has taken a big nosedive in the last 2-3 weeks, I've got no time for players who throw a strop and pretend they're injured to avoid playing and training because they want a move. I've no problem with a player putting in a transfer request, as long as they act professionally if it's refused. Coutinho hasn't.

Regardless, I still hope he puts in a good shift this season (after apologising) then we get rid next summer but we won't get what we were already offered.
