Despite being 24, I still think there is alot of potential there and I'm glad we signed him. He can play a number of positions and we needed strengthening.

But we just paid 35m - 40m for a decent player with only a year left on his contract. Lets not pretend we didn't just get our pants pulled down.

I agree. But if we didn't buy him now, someone else would have.

On SSN Arsenal have bid 92 mill for Lemar. Sanchez is definitely heading to City, which is a shame.

Bloody hell. That's Sanchez off if that goes through.

I'm still disappointed not have signed a cm and cb and would have preferred those signings even at the expense of a Sanchez replacement

As I said earlier in the thread, I'm not a massive fan of Oxlade-Chamberlain. But fair play to him, not only has he written off £60k a week from Arsenal to join Liverpool, he also turned down Chelsea who no doubt would have at least matched what Arsenal had on the table. It goes to show there is still some ambition in certain players to do what they feel is better for their career rather than chase the money, and he deserves a lot of credit for that. How many players would deliberately lose over £3m a year just to increase the chances of playing in their preferred position? I hope he doesn't live to regret it as I'm still skeptical he will be a first choice in any position on the pitch, let alone CM.

Regardless, it's good for football. I'm hoping to see more of it in future but I won't hold my breath. O-C is very much the exception rather than the rule.

Rooney took a 50% wage cut to join Everton, I believe.

Guardian reporting Lemar deal is off as Arsenal have ran out of time to sign him. He is supposed to be playing in a world cup qualifier tonight at 7.45 or so, so that may make sense. I'd love Liverpool to make a cheeky 95 mill bid and get it done :D

But his career is effectively over. Hence joining Everton.

SSN doing Google trends now on top of Twitter posts and Instagram rubbish. It's meant to be a sports news channel not fucking Facebook.

Can't see it happening though. Would be a hell of a coup were it to happen though.

Assuming the £92m Arsenal are reported to have offered is true, we certainly won't be matching it.

It was clear VVD wasn't going to happen yesterday. Lemar looking increasingly unlikely.

Without either our window has been average but it could have been worse. Keeping Coutinho will be massive, he will need to knuckle down and grow a pair if he wants to get into Brazil's squad next summer.

I bet Dejan Lovren is delighted with that news.

Wolves coming knocking for Afobe, 15m rebuffed.

Leicester quoting 40m for Gray! Don't even think about it Eddie.

Sky's desperation to elevate Deadline Day into something amazingly spectacular is embarrassing.

Au cointreau, Simon Jordan was on earlier.
Fairly good joke ruined by a Del Boy-esque malapropism.

Speaking of jokes, Arsenal lmao. The worst possible outcome. It's going to be funny watching Sanchez play for us [emoji23] [emoji23]

Liverpool accept £26m bid from Palace for Sakho.

Annoyed with that. Still think Klopp should have overcome his stubbornness and sorted things out. He is a great defender, I still maintain the best we have. Or had.

There you go lads, you heard it here first. Sakho is the greatest defender Liverpool Football Club have ever had.

Big words from a man accused of fence-sitting.

Bravo.
