Would be an excellent signing. Superb work-rate. Final ball and composure needs a bit of work but definitely a player capable of playing at, or even above, this level.

He and Danny Racchi were the two I was gutted to see leave us in May.

Apparently we're still going for Matt Tubbs, wasn't very good in an Eastleigh hoof ball team last season but think he could flourish if we are to play passing, on the ground football, him and Murphy up front with doige in reserve... Wow!!

Ronan Murray is a midget, so the idea of Barrow signing him is nonsensical.

Turns out it wasn't Ronan Murray, but someone called Evan Murray - no idea who that is, and all I can find on google is an American Football player that died. I don't think it's him.

Has Tubbs even managed double figures in goals since his Crawley days?

I don't get why people think it's wrong for footballers to move for money?? At the end of the day it's their job, if I got asked for a transfer at work for more money I'd certainly take it!!

Footballers careers aren't that long, and with families to look after you may as well earn as much as you can before it's too late!

Wonder if Parkin will end up at Barrow? He's big mates with Gary Simpson.

I don't think people would argue that most footballers like anyone else would move for better money. However certain other people seem to be totally deluded by ignoring the blatantly obvious about you being bank rolled in the extreme which is farcical.

Again. There's businesses richer than others... It's not illegal to have money?

Because everyone else knows our exact budget, don't they. :ffs:

For what it's worth, it'll be around the £1m mark this season having been less last year, so not the biggest in this league by any means. Saying this wont make any difference though, if we romp to the title it wont be deserved, it will be because we're "bank rolled in the extreme" according to all the bitter BELT's.

Taking it back to money - I doubt we could give him close to what he wants, even if we were interested. It's clear we're in for a target man as that's what we're missing really, but I think it's still more likely to be Rhead at this stage.

I was just defending our club, after Imp In Branston once again talked shit about us.

Didn't say you weren't. It just seems that for however many people bring up FGR's budget, there's an equal amount of FGR fans paranoid about people talking about their budget. We all know it's sizeable, no point complaining about it, no point defending it either.

Without getting involved, he's not really said anything untrue, though.

Like many other people despite not knowing our budget, he's trying to mislead everyone into thinking our budget is massive.

Saying we're "bankrolled in the extreme" when we didn't have the biggest budget in the league last season and wont this year either, and saying that anyone denying it is deluded when they actually know more then him is not what I'd call being truthful. This reputation is causing problems for our club when it comes to negotiating deals, as clubs, players and agents all think we're a gravy train.

Lucky we've got Asif''s negotiating skills. #topnegotiator.

Tubbs was leading goal-scorer in League Two in 2014-15 (12 for Wimbledon/9 for Portsmouth).
Started off 2015-16 ok for Portsmouth (6 in 16 games incl. 9 starts), got injured and never played for them again. Apparently he was carrying an injury the whole time he was at Eastleigh too.

Hopefully he's fully fit now then. If he is would be a great signing, him and Murphy could easily get 50+ goals between them if both are fit and firing and we use them properly.

We were after him last year but apparently we were put off by some fitness issues and his cost in regards to his fitness. Should be an excellent signing if he has regained his fitness.

Dress it up however you like but the fact remains - Gates of about 1500 on average, yet have a budget of £1m.

I don't think any more needs to be said really.

Just checked average league gates for FRG and amazed they have got to that, the club must be moving in right direction because last time I went they had 600,bet not many teams have doubled in last 5 years, also amazed at Aldershot getting less than FGR

When it comes to FGR's budget, it appears there's always more that needs to be said.

Fair enough. He just seems to have hopped around Clubs without doing an awful lot since his Crawley days.

Everywhere that Tubbs has done well, has been when he has been paired with a good target man that he can play off. Pompey played that way when he first went there, but then the manager decided he didn't want to play with a target man in a 4-4-2 and subsequently dropped Tubbs from his first team squad, as he knew he could not play the lone striker role that he wanted to play with.
We never used him well at Eastleigh as he was paired with Beano, who runs around like a headless chicken moaning at refs and wrestling with defenders all game, so Tubbs had no one to play off. He scored 2 goals for us, one was a penalty and the other was a deflection that went in off his arse when the original shot was going wide! Barely even had a shot in games. Not his fault, that was Eastleigh's fault for mis-use.
In the right team, he will score goals, although i feel is severely lacking in confidence, having not played well for over a year now.

That's due to 4 seasons of awful football under 3 seperate clowns of managers. Now Waddock is back and looking to only play one way I fully expect the crowds to go back to well over a 2000 average by Xmas.
