Wouldnt surprise me one bit. We all know he is better than Conference North. Still I would be gutted.
With due respect, I would be hugely surprised if he signed for Alfreton, he's good enough for a play-off chaser the division above.

A striker possibly signing for us on Monday to cover the injured Jordan White, apparently.

Anyone know anything about James Akintunde, ex Cambridge? Scored a hat trick on trial for us today and then immediately subbed at half time.

The James Caton deal is just about done if Danny Cowleys post-match interview is anything to go by.

Sounds as though the young lads will be shifted out on loan to bring the squad size down from 22 but also to free up money to bring in new faces, so we'll probably start the season with a squad of 18-20.

I'm still not convinced we'll see Stanley here for much longer. Said that since the Cowleys were appointed. They'd have released him if he didn't have an appearance clause in his contract. He was with a Lincoln XI getting game time, but I'm not sure whether that's him out of the first team picture or whether he requested it to get some minutes under his belt. He's hardly played in any of the first team friendlies.

We had Emmett O'Connor, Ollie Norburn, Mackenzie Faulkner and Pa Souley on trial with us yesterday. Emmett O'Connor formerly of Crawley scored two. Ollie Norburn went off injured but played OK beforehand. Mackenzie Faulkner, formerly of Port Vale looked OK, a good back up. Pa Souley is a striker, can't find anything about him on the internet and he did OK, doubt we'll offer him a deal though. We still need a striker massively.

No sign of Mitch Hancox yesterday so looks like he didn't do enough to impress/ moved somewhere else on trial.

Why do you think that? I think get another striker in and we're good to start the season.

Jordan White being out is such a blow though! He was going to be a key player for us the first few months of the season, he'll be very hard to replace.
Well, we needed another goalkeeper, which we now have with Dunn fully confirmed.

Another striker to replace White. And feel like we need a RB, and another midfielder. The squad is so thin that a couple more injuries and we are knackered.

If we can sign a striker this week. Maybe keep Jordan Evans then we are probably ok. I'd like to see an additional striker and possibly a midfield option brought in as well, possibly on loan.

Yeah I agree about getting another RB as I'm still not 100% convinced by Carrington there, he's very good on the ball but a bit suspect defensively I think, but he's more of a right back than a midfielder. I have a feeling that Nortey might surprise a few if he gets played there sometimes.
I would definitely like a bit more height in the midfield but that can always be covered by a loan which can be done at any stage of the season I think.

Carrington is decent at right back, with Nortey and Edwards as cover. We don't need another right back. Jordan Evans would be nice addition. not only as left fullback cover, but he looks good going forward and has played midfield in the past. Actually that's exactly where I'd like to see him tried in our next pre-season game. Him and Newton could work well together down the left.

I think this Evans could work in a 4 man midfield it we're playing both him and Newton but I don't think Mills plays that system much, so if he does sign he'd probably be back-up wing back and on the left of the front three.

I really hope it's not someone like Bradley Reid (who some of our fans bizarrely want). I don't think he's done anything apart from in the Wolves under 21 side. I know he went on loan to Telford, but the last I heard about that was Steve Kittrick publicly slating his attitude.

Yeah sorry, I meant Jordan Evans playing left of a front three. Although I am basing my confidence in him doing well there on a pre-season game against Gresford Athletic.

No idea who this mystery striker we are supposed to be signing, but there's a 90% chance he'll have what's deemed to be poor wikipedia stats leading to Red Passion mega meltdown.

You'll have posters on there who barely know the names of our own players having a fit because they've never heard of the new player.

He also got the only goal in the win vs Bury so he obviously knows where the goal is.

I'm still shocked how Reid got a move to Wolves. I never saw much in him at all. He could run with the ball a bit and had pace, but he never looked like a striker and couldn't tackle to save his life, so many rash challenges! (should have been sent off that season v Hyde).

He played on trial for Mansfield and apparently played well one of their fans just posted on League 2 forum.

Nathan Arnold being mentioned on one of our forums.

Would be a very good player for you!

can be hit and miss, but you expect that from a winger at the conference level.

having said that, his touch is top class, and when confident, he is too good for that league.

also a top bloke!

My pal spoke to Nathan last week. He knows him from around Mansfield. He has an offer on the table from Eastleigh for £1600 pw week apparently but Nathan has a young un up here and wants to stay in the M1 corridor/East area. Lincoln would be ideal but I'd doubt that many teams at this level (or League 2) would put £1600 on the table for Nathan.

Yeah, there's talk here that he's reluctant to move too far away (got a couple of local businesses?).

If that's the case, I'm not sure why he left Grimsby tbh, unless it was to move to PT. We're not likely to be matching his Grimsby offer and certainly not his Eastleigh one if those numbers are correct.

Scott Spencer on trial with us. Obviously he has been with us before and was released during Neil Young's release revolution. Another season of 20+ goals for relegated Hyde last season has seen Jim give him a trial.

Can see him signing. Would be a useful player to have this season.

We already have more than enough strikers.
Only looking for a midfielder and a center half to complete our squad.
So that story is not true.

Apparently he came back to us a couple weeks ago but Hurst said no as he had already been replaced.

Not sure why he turned us down to be honest, guess he was hoping for more money, better options which never materialised so now stuck back in non league

Only quoting what came from the horse's mouth pal. Truth is he doesn't want to head south, though for that sort of cash I'd be off like a shot. Hats off for wanting to put family first I guess.

Trust me, I have no benefit in making up an Eastleigh story.

Pa Sulay Njie was the striker we had on trial for us against Wigan and Nantwich, it will be interesting to see if he's in the squad tonight.

I'd like to see him given another chance.

I've heard you're ready to go head to head with Man Utd in bids for Paul Pogba and Leonardo Bonucci, willing to pay Juventus £150million up front, whereas United are only willing to pay in instalments. Juve are prepared to accept you're offer first, but it might be difficult to persuade the pair that their futures will be brighter at The Silverlake as oppose to Old Trafford. Having the chance to play under Chris Todd as oppose to some unknown in Manchester might swing it your way though.
