McDonagh has ability but is quite frustrating with a distinct lack of effort at time and despite his size too often looked weak ( I guess that comes from only being 18). He scored 5 in 21 but that's in a side barely creating anything. I'd have been happy having him here for the rest of f the season though .

Well hopefully he's come on a bit in the past few months, and I imagine he's more of a back-up player. He'll maybe fit our style a bit better too. The two players we've had from Forest this season have been top drawer.

Jake Gosling is signing for FGR. Don't know if it's a permanent or loan yet.

All Gibraltar based piss taking aside. He's a really good signing. Certainly an upgrade on Frear. He's got excellent delivery and can also play as a number 10 ( arguably his best position) or on either flank in a loose front three. Not quite league 1 gravy but still far better than most in this division.

Very happy with that always thought he looked quality. I think frear has amazing pace but not much else so goes missing a lot.

Yeah I'd agree he's an upgrade on Frear, good business on our part methinks.

The way some of our fans go on, you'd think Frear was the next Messi. He's a good, but inconsistent non league winger who was shite when we needed him to perform in the run in and play offs last season and has wanted out since then, so I've heard. Club had an option and exercised it, but his agent has kept pushing him and he's finaly got his move away. Not a big loss imo.

Rumours in a few local rags that Derby, Walsall, Port Vale and Barnet are after Danny Rowe. One of the articles goes as far to say the latter three have all made bids already. £100k the figure being quoted in the press.

Is there anybody in this transfer window that Barnet havn't bid for?!

They even tried a cheeky bid for Omar Bogle a month or so back the fuckers!

Latest rumour on our forum is that Rowe will be spending the week training with Vale, but also that Connor Jennings will be coming back to Macc. Can't see that happening at all.

has Jennings not been playing regularly at Tranmere? Would like to think we'd be right in the queue trying to persuade him to re-join us.

Not sure why Jennings would take a paycut to go to Macc, or us for that matter and still has another year on his contract. You would think we would be in pole position to get him back if he was to leave Tranny though, with Keates in charge and his brother here. He's a good player overall so I'd like to see him back if he was available. If Tranmere go up then I'd expect he would leave anyway.

Osborne and Asante deals now done apparently, nothing official yet though so it can go in the rumours thread.

We've just signed Wallace on an 18-month contract so we do have an abundance of midfielders now: Wallace, Hughes, Maynard, Jennings (C), Jennings (S), Harris would be 2 from 5 for a conventional 442, but Mellon has adopted a 442 diamond and you've got to throw the likes of Louis Almond (who has disappeared off the face of the planet) and Ben Tollitt in there to play at the top of the diamond.

Mellon has said nobody is leaving, but if anyone was to go I'd put my money on Almond or Harris. Connor hasn't played because he's been out for 3 months with a serious injury and is only just returning. He's a good player and it would surprise me no end if you could afford to buy him out of his 2 year contract, because you'd need to pay a fee. Non-starter for me.

Macc fans have been saying Jennings is coming back since he left. Sounds like wishful thinking to me.

Speaking of which I'd have him back here.

I thought that the Trophy game would be a good one to start for Connor Jennings. Instead he wasn't even one of the 3 subs brought on. He's hardly had any game time since coming back from injury, even though arguably he's better suited to playing the tip of the diamond than Tollit. Micky Mellon made remarks when he arrived showing he was aware of Connor's ability, talking of playing him in the hole, so I'm puzzled at his lack of playing time. It's hard to see us agreeing a sale to moneybags Macc, but since we've played both games against the Silkmen, a loan might be possible.

I'm not sure Wallace 2017 is that good an option and hope he's not going to be shoe-horned into the side on the strength of his past history. Agree with Belmont that Harris and Almond most likely to go, the latter out of action with a hamstring problem atm.

I think the only way it could possibly happen is via a loan. Like you say he's been injured so you could quite easily use us to give him some fitness. Still, I'll believe it when I see it.

Rumours on our forum that three more are due to leave (either permanently or in loan, they don't say) with two new players coming in before the weekend.

Most likely Bakare, Bencherif and Callum Powell out I'd have thought. Bakare us useless, Powell has pace but no end product. I quite like Hamza but he is very gaffe prone.

He doesn't have a start or middle product either. Hope he's gone ASAP, assume he is as he missed out on the match squad last week with no news of any injury.

I don't think he's as bad as some make him out to be tbh. But equally I don't think he's good enough.
