When's Akinola signing? Thought it was "a question of when, not if, he signs for Lincoln,"
Well, we did try two or three times but a) Braintree weren't prepared to sell at our first approach and b) The Braintree Chairman doesn't really like us (even before the Cowleys joined) but c) Barnet ended up pricing us out anyway.

Much like Fylde and Dan Bradley, or Tranmere and Connor Jennings, or Ipswich and Danny Rowe...

Not sure why you're speech marking something, which hasn't been said...

Which wasn't a completely outlandish comment because of the enquiry we made at the time, but at no point did I say "a question of when, not if, he signs for Lincoln".

It was close to being done and then Braintree Chairman, as I've alluded to, doesn't like us from years ago and moved the goal posts. Then we kept talking and Barnet came in and offered a deal we weren't prepared to match.

Admit it, you were overly bullish, thinking throwing big bucks around as usual would make any player you wanted come rushing to Lincoln. Akinola obviously decided Barnet were a bigger/better club, which must have 'stung' a bit. :fl:

Greetings non league fans I come with bad news.

Harry Davis, who has made his entire career out of benefiting from his Daddy's nepotism until that wonderful day when we sacked him, is on the transfer list and it appears both Tranmere and Southport are interested in his services after he didn't want to move to Scotland.

I can't imagine Southport can afford his basic wage of £1500 a week so it'll be a loan deal if he goes to them. Tranmere could probably afford him and take him off our hands like they did with Dugdale but I couldn't see him getting in their team. That said, anyone to take that odious cretin off our hands will be warmly welcomed.

It was said. Probably by you, but if not then by DavidImp. He's always been a bit too bullish for my liking.

You certainly were very confident of getting him yourself though. So when is he coming?
Think I'm allowed to be bullish when my team is having the season it's having!
I've watched Lincoln for 35 years and seasons like this are few and far between.
I'm still in shock from yesterday.

You are doing well tbf, good comeback at Man City last week and by your reserves yesterday. Top 4 is definitely on, will you finally finish above the Arse? It's about time. Poch is too good AND clever for Wenger.

Another nonleague player stepping up? Bradford bid £75k for Barrow LB Nick Anderton. Leicester Burnley and Swansea have scouted him in past

The only talk of that I have seen, and seems strange for the deputy sports news editor of the Guardian to be tweeting about non-league - his whole website profile is just endless speculation. Either he knows someone at Bradford that has told him that, or, as I suspect, he's plucked a club and a name out of a hat.

Along with the captain Danny Livesey, he's been our most consistent player this season. I know there's a couple of Aldershot fans who think that he was average in his short loan spell 18 months ago, but he was a teenager coming back from a broken leg!
Loves to get forwards, has pace, can put in a great cross, and a good player defensively too. Occasionally gets caught out of position, but which young players don't? My personal opinion is that he could go straight into a League 1 side and do a similar job.

Looks like we're signing winger Josh Ginnelly on loan from Burnley, who has been with Walsall this season.

He was also with Altrincham last season. How did he get on Alty fans?

Well this actually looks like it's happening! Three clubs in for him, including a Championship side. Good luck to him, as he's always been a hard-worker and the fact that he's signed for us three times shows how much he likes it here - and how highly the fans rate him. Will be our record fee received too.

Hard to keep track of this one - club has put out a statement saying we've turned down bids for our players because they didn't meet our valuation. That does seem to include a bid for Anderton, but talks apparently ongoing. The going rate for a decent Conference player seems to be £100k now, and that's what I'd hope for with Anderton, who still has 18 months left on his contract.

Williams can go at that price too - replaceable.

Liam Noble would walk into any side in this league, easily. Brilliant player and a top, top lad.

Swansea are up to tricks again and trying to rob us of our sell-on clause for Neil Taylor by doing a 'swap deal' with Aston Villa for Jordan Ayew. They need publicly SHAMING.

Or just very good business on their behalf.

Did it to Utrecht, doing it to us.

A shame but I guess that's football nowadays.

Josh Ginnelly on loan from Burnley apparently. Don't know anything about him other than he was at Altrincham last season and just finished a loan spell at Walsall.

Looks like we may have nabbed him from under your noses.

At the moment we're only able to sign players who played for Micky Mellon at Shrewsbury. Hence Ginnelly and Davis were never going to happen.

This sounds like typical Dover
The colourful Peterborough director of football said: “We’ve been in for Miller, he’s a good player and he’s one we wanted but it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere.
“We’ve tried getting in contact with Dover but they’re not returning any of our calls

Scunny end reporting Margetts back here on loan is a possibility.

A handful of FL Clubs are sniffing around Theo Robinson but as he's on non-contract terms here, I suspect that one can happen after the deadline?

I'd ignore Fatty Fry. He's a known bullshit merchant.
