Definitely not us making any "significant" bids for first team players - Cox keeps saying he's waiting for players to become available on loan. I know that we had some bids in place for a left-back and a winger if our own players got sold, but they won't have been anything like Mansfield's first team standard.

I know we were after the young liverpool lad who joined trammere so we're obviously after a back up striker, certainly wouldn't pay a lot for one though, we don't need wingers either! Any defenders who we could potentially be after?

good on his day - maybe not consistent enough for conf national - but too good for Conf North

If you read our forum, you'll get a bad impression of him. If things aren't running for him, then he seems like a luxury player - he doesn't always appear to be working hard, but he's an attacking winger. I rate him, and he was unlucky not to be in the team at the start of the season. Last year when he got a run of games, he was great. Can beat a man, can put in some great crosses, and look up his strikes against Stockport and Tranmere if you get a chance.

Sometimes his corners hit the first man, and sometimes he doesn't track back, and that's enough to render him useless to some Barrow fans.

The Connor Jennings to Macc rumours seem to have re-surfaced. Can see some merit given Mellon hasn't given him any game-time, but while the Silkmen have an outside chance of making the play-offs, wouldn't see him being sold to a potential rival.

I can see it happening, not as a permanent deal but more likely on loan. We've still got to play all of the top 5 bar Tranmere so it would be in Tranmere's interest to help Macc take points off their league rivals. I'd love to see Connor back here, especially now we only have one fit striker in the squad after Dudley's injury.

The other rumour on our forum is Ollie Norburn to Dover. He's lost his place in the team after being out injured for a few months and in that time we've brought in Danny Whitehead and moved Mitch Hancox into midfield, both of whom now start ahead of him. I wouldn't have thought he'd go to Dover though.

If the rumour about Jennings is correct, I hope it is nothing more than a loan deal. I can understand why Mellon has frozen out Mekki / Almond / Stephenson and the rest but Jennings is a strange one, particularly as he is suited to the diamond formation which Micky favours.

Wasn't a great fan, vulnerable to pace and movement and despite his height often out-jumped but by no means terrible.

A good signing if it was 2007. I don't know of anyone in this division who would be slower. I'd be quicker than him with a parachute on.
