I keep seeing suggestions that Tom Denton could be on his way to join us. I know we tried to sign him last summer but he ultimately decided to go join Halifax.

You'd have thought he might like to give the Conference Premier a crack seeing as he's won promotion to that division 2 season's on the trot?!

Needless to say he'd compliment our forward line well so would be a welcomed acquisition if he does leave Halifax.

Is there any chance of you guys challenging this coming season?

Difficult to say. This year will be harder than last as we will have more full time teams in the league.

Salford, Kidderminster, Harrogate and York are all full time next season. Not sure if Southport are FT or PT. Salford are throwing money around too which makes it difficult.

We have kept our defence together which was the joint best defence in the division, but have lost Lewis Montrose who was by far the best midfielder in the league last year. He protected the back 4 superbly.

Goal scoring was our achillies heel despite Danny Lloyd amassing 29 goals last year! He's gone to Peterborough. We got rid of 3 strikers who really struggled to find the net in Odejayi, Gonzales and Amis.

We have further strengthened our defence with Stephen O'Halloran from Salford, and brought in 3 impressive attacking players in Matty Warburton, Jason Oswell and Darren Stephenson.

I certainly expect to score more goals next season, but we may also concede more if we do not find an adequate replacement for Montrose.

More play off places means a better chance. We're always hopeful!

or Akil Wright back from Fleetwood?

I'd be very happy with that. Have you seen if he was released or not? I know Cox wants to sign him, but Wright was holding out for Fleetwood renewing his contract.

I'd be extremely suprised if you Thomas came back to you.

Depends - is he likely to feature much for you this year? If he was to leave, I reckon we'd be at the front of the queue.

It's fairly well know down here that Thomas & Cox fell out towards the end of the season. Don't think he'll feature much for us next year, i don't believe he's good enough for League 2 to be honest.

Really??? First I've heard of a falling out. He didn't get a great deal of game time, but there didn't appear to be a falling out - could that just be forum rumours at Mansfield's end? I'd love for him to sign for us, as he looks ready-made for the conference.

Gowling won't be going to Torquay, he lives in Caistor and doesn't want to move so it will be to a team that he can commute easily to from Caistor.

Haha oh dear. Did Josh forget to tell his best mate where he was moving to :ffs: :bye:

Michael Poke linked with a return to Torquay. I liked him during his last spell and I think he'd be a pretty solid signing if Brendan Moore is moving on.

Seen some worrying rumours that everyone's favourite loveable rogue could be on the move.

Cowley has said he's been up to Hartlepool this week.

Obviously not necessarily a Hartlepool player, but thought I'd throw it out there!

If he has been meeting a Pools player in Hartlepool I would suggest that it was Brad Walker.

Thankfully Amond has been in Ireland the past week or so, so it won't have been him,

Not sure where I am looking, but it still says he plays for Pools?

Looking at the squad realistically, I'd imagine it would be either Padraig Amond or Nicky Featherstone who seemingly wants away, Brad Walker would also be possible but he's still being linked with Wigan and Wolves.

Or maybe he was just here for a day on the beach :dk:

Sorry all, but looks like a new team has emerged and pipped you to the post over Padraig Amond:

Our manager Omer Riza has tweeted this evening basically saying he has offered contracts to several players, but cannot do anything until we're taken over or that c*** Becchetti sells up (reading between the lines) and that he fears unless things are sorted soon, he will lose these players.

We've already missed out on Michael Cheek who opted to Join Dagenham now, rather than wait on our situation.

Must be offering a huge carrot to wait it out, presuming the others have contracts on the table. I wonder whether he knows the size of the carrot (or the underground sign) that he's able to dangle or he's just YOLOing it along.
