• Woolworths was still open
• Neco Williams had his 7th birthday party
• Lewes and Northwich Victoria were still in The Conference
• ...as were Crawley Town and Burton Albion
• Forest Green Rovers still played in black and white stripes
• ...and Salford City still played in orange
• AFC Halifax Town had only just been formed
• AFC Chester City weren't even a thing

Of course "this is the year". If we don't say that every season, what's the point? We all know Wrexham aren't getting out of the Vauxhall Conference, EVER. There's more chance of my wife coming back with the kids* than Wrexham actually getting promoted.

Still available on a free transfer, since he left Peterborough I think. According to his Twitter he lives locally, in Farnborough, and has been linked with us all summer. I think someone on Shotsweb said he can’t play until January so could be the reason why he’s still unattached, as he could surely do a job at this level for pretty much all of us down here.

He's been at our pre season friendlies interacting with the players and management team. He's also been going on runs with some fans around the local area. I guess the rumours that he can't play yet are true and we will snap him up in January.

He lives in Hertfordshire and lost his driving licence so travelling is a challenge. He's also playing Sunday football for my mate's team in Stevenage.

We had him before our trip to the regionals, he was actually fantastic in the dozen or so games he played for us and was instrumental in our miraculous escape from the drop that year.

He left after an "incident" with some of the other players (including serial moron Ben Gerring) who objected to him telling them they were shit and a disgrace to the club and league after they downed tools for the last game against Guisely which sent you guys down (sorry about that ). He wasn't wrong!

He has a few behind the scenes issues to see to first before Aldershot / Miller accept it, or rescind it.

Our fans are stunned by this. As am I. I can only assume he has been told, possibly by Brennan, that he needs to prove his fitness before receiving a contract. Which perhaps isn't surprising given his record.
