If he did sign for us he'd immediately break both legs or something.

If Shrewsbury are after him, even on a 1 year deal, he should give it a go. How often do you get to play for the club yoy support? even if it is those inbred farmers.

I reckon he's off to Shrewsbury. He definitely wants out either way.

Any chance we could be in the mix? I know we were interested last summer.

IF you are there would be at least 3 clubs bidding which would obviously up the price. both you and Wrexham will struggle to have as much pull as Shrewsbury (because he supports them), but on the plus side you both have players he plays well with in John Rooney and Dior Angus.

I mean there is no basis beyond we need someone to lead the line and we were rumoured to be interested last year. He’s not been mentioned by our ITK’s but no striker had yet.

Stockport lot, what's Jamie Stott like, supposedly on trial with us? Definitely on the piss with us anyway.

Did a reverse Chipmunx and had a quick browse on your forum. One of your fans on there seems to think he's coming here, and another has backed that poster up as usually being reliable. I've stupidly started to get my hopes up now.

Was great for us in the North when loaned from Oldham. Brought him in permanantly last summer, clearly a Gannon signing because he'd brought him here before. As soon as Gannon went I don't think he played a minute. I think we need better as a starting CB at this level, I don't see him tearing up League Two.

Cheers for the input, he would fit with DC's signing strategy of young player with the scope to maybe improve in the future.

We're scrambling for players with the season so close, it's looking like a patch up job for us, get bodies in the door and do our best to survive then go from there.

I've seen a lot more rumour with regard to Wrexham than I have Shrewsbury now. Plus, doesn't look like he's at our training camp in Scotland either.

Interesting that he’s with you as I think we thought he was training with Chester last week and off to them.

if you fancy Lois Maynard we’ll do you a buy one get one free deal.

Any Pools fan still loitering - some on Twitter seem to think Ryan Donaldson is the next name down on our Hartlepool OOC list. Good signing if true?

I'm not sure, unless he just fancied coming up to Hartlepool for the Euro Final and a piss up with a few of our players?

Leaving Pools is the best thing for both parties, career has hit a dead end here and has been a scapegoat for a lot of fans, Donaldson is a strange player, he doesn't have a position which is his, played all over the midfield and defence and has never excelled in any position, versatility is his strongest point.

DC said He’s decided to go in a slightly different direction with his career and set himself up for further down the line, I'd imagine player coach in the regional leagues I'd put money on him going to Morpeth Town with Liam Noble

I think people will have heard Hartlepool captain and got confused with Featherstone, who I still think we were in for but he chose not to relocate (and possibly helped him to get an extra year out of Pools).

RE Quigley, he seems to have been a lot quieter in recent weeks than he normally would have been, ever since Cooper came in so whether something has happened behind the scenes I wouldn't know, could well be putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5. I'm sure someone else on here said similar.

Sees odd that he'd consider stepping back to Non league, however well we might pay him. He seems an ambitious sort of player and he won't get too many chances to progress to either a bigger L2 team or get a crack at L1. Although maybe he really wants to go on TV.

Watch him turn up at Chesterfield now

That's why I thought Shrewsbury would be the obvious destination. He's not far short of 29, he's probably one or two iffy seasons from not getting a shot at League One.

From our perspective it was probably pretty naive to think we wouldn't get offers or interest this summer. If we are to lose him, at least let's cash in while his stock is high and whilst he has a couple of years left on his contract.

We’re set to announce a signing on Twitter shortly, maybe Quigley…

EDIT:- David Davis

Dayle Southwell has followed Alfreton on twitter. Scored a bucket load at Boston 5 years ago. Still only 27. Whats he like nowadays?

Never really got going for us. Came with a good reputation from Guiseley but struggled for form/game time. Don’t think it helped he was playing under a negative manager in Fullarton tbf. Think it’s been a similar situation at Kings Lynn

Jordan Richards is training with us after he turned down a new contract at Kings Lynn, after Khan going to Chesterfield we’re light in midfield so would make sense.

Thought it would be easier to copy and paste AJS's reply as that is exactly what happened to him at Lynn although we aren't overly negative. Seemed a panic signing in our NLN days having seen him do absolutely nothing against us in two fixtures whilst he was on loan at Boston. He will perhaps think he hasn't had the opportunity to show what he can do and maybe with a run of games lower down he will come good but can't say I am surprised or disappointed to see him linked with a move away.

Certainly good enough for NL based on watching him previously and then bit parts last year in a team that really lost it's way.
